holy winning time Batman!

I was convinced I'd be trailing the field this week. What with talk of 1:03's etc...
It's always good when so much frustration finally returns results.
Just proves that it can all be worth it in the end - although I think I may now need to invest in a new joypad as this one may have been thrown down in disgust one too often ;)

I wonder what's in store this week....

Mate, I have NO idea!!

Still waiting on my Xport to be delivered :irked: - <sigh>

Congratulations people!
I was anticipating a submission from Mr.P (and a lower placing).
Sough is right where I thought he'd be.
Hippyneil, out of left field, with a smokin' run. 👍
I wish I had tried some other cars. Meh.
I'm not embarrassed. Though, when I really should be ashamed, I rarely am.

I kept switching between the denso supra and the mugen nsx.
It wasn't until someone else (can't remember who) posted some pretty good times I gave the calsonic skyline another go and found it's handling a bit more to my liking. I must also admit to having TCS on, not that I normally do but I found it helped a lot on this track - especially the section into casino square and down to the tunnel.
It'd be interesting to see the splits cos I reckon it mustve been the last sector that clinched it for me as my T2 time was in the high 1:05s and I'm sure people were quoting T2s of 1:03 to low 1:05s. I obviously managed to get on the power just a little bit earlier.
Maybe I should push Boom to promote me to the Pros! But then I don't think I'd rank so high ;)

hippyneil, a real hippy would've posted that time in a VW bus :D nice run man ...

Here's my replay for this week (NTSC). The section after T2 is really cautious, I really didn't want to loose this lap.

As I expected, my time really sucks in a big time, I'm so dissapointed of myself :(

And congrats to all winners, especially to hippy for a time that is under the time I expected to have :D

I don't want to take anything away from you, but a high 1'05 T2 CANNOT bring about a final lap time of 1'25.843. To put this in perspective, I have a T2 of 1'04.3, and you have a high 1'05. So this would mean about 1.5 seconds behind at T2. Most of the lap is already done by now, and you are saying you gain 2.8 seconds on my time from T2 to finish :odd:

Edit: Either you misread your T2, or you misread your lap time

Sorry guys got completley sidetracked on this one :embarrassed: I've been racing elsewhere:lol: and even the Torc submitting day made me think it was Wednesday morning deadline :P

Anyway from what i did run my best was a 1.26.5 something unclean with a 1.03.9 T2

My best clean was a 1.27.2 with a 1.04.5 T2

..... sorry i never got to run more

Great job by the winners 👍

Next time I jump in! I promise to Remember I entered

Laters:embarrassed:

will post my replay asap.

I have to say I'm surprised at how well I ranked this week considering that my T2 time on the run I posted was like 1'04.4

Oliver that must have been one slow final section for me to make .3 seconds up on you. Congrats to everyone just for finishing this race and submitting a time. It was a tough one this week. I think my first lap was like 1'31! There were soooo many ways to lose time.

I tried all of the cars and the Denso was the fastest for me. That skyline time is amazing hippy.

I'll check my replay again....
I must admit I never thought it was a particularly good time.

oops!!!:dunce:

I am officially embarrassed. :embarrassed:

Sorry sorry sorry sorry and lots of sorry.

Either I wrote it down wrong or had a moment of typo madness but (upon prompting) I checked my time and it's 1:28 not 1:25

Please chastise me accordingly. I honestly never meant to put up a false time so please accept my stunningly grovelly apologies.

Boom, can you update the results...

Sorry.....

Back to the VDub for me....

(sorry)

At first I was stunned by the awesome but possible time with the skyline. But with a 1:05T2 I figured something was up lol.

Plenty of good competition in division 2 and decent runs from D3 too. Nice to finally take a race I must say, I knew I had to attack from t2 on and it looks like it made the difference. I'll post my replay today.

Lol I was suspicious there was some mistake in that time..a 1'05 can never get a 1'25..ever...well I guess humans make mistakes..it's ok dont worry ;)

Do you think I could get PD to add this to Gran Turismo 4? <sigh>

Alright First Off
Great racing every one, those were some good times from the second division. I think with a bit more time I might have been competitive.
Still some great racing by everyone:tup:

Now for you

Man, I sure am glad you managed to take that second look...

My pride ran away from me completely. Kinda glad you with-drew that

Maybe I should push Boom to promote me to the Pros!

But you also did go check and get things straight with an extensive apologie.

It's all good. :D

And once again racers, Good Job!

Could people that manage 1.5-3 seconds or more better than us average folks please keep their thoughts about how slow they were to themselves. No offense.

*They thought they'd be.

T you make it sound like only a slower driver has the right to be pi$$ed off with their efforts:rolleyes:

BAH HUMBUG!!!!

My time was pretty good for me. I couldn't keep up with it very well on the back stretch, though I knew there was some wasted time in the beginning.

I got ahead of the ghost car representing the time I turned in at one point by probably .3 or .4 seconds. I lost it at the box turn at the bottom of the hill. I felt like I had another half second in the race, but I was pretty happy with the results.

I did feel incredibly slow, however, when I saw the split times being posted. When I first saw that 1'03 T2 put up and I was still running 1'05's and 6's I figured I was hosed.

So with respect to other people, I felt like my time was crap (because I want to win!!). With respect to myself I felt like my time was not the best I was capable of, but close enough to submit.

Sorry everyone.

This issue has infuriated me for some time.

When I first began, I wasn't much behind Mr. P.

Since then I've rarely managed a respectable time.

For health and sharing reasons I can't play often.

The worst is not controlling, which I believe I have the skills for, it's finding the right lines. I just can't figure out what angle I'm supposed to be at, speed, gear.

I can never figure out what I'm doing wrong.

Unfortunately, my temper and mentality makes it hard to have a que sara attitude.

Mostly, I'm growling bull_, you cheating piece of _ game.

Like the tunnel in Cote, I don't know how to enter it, I just know that I usually get screwed regardless.

Again, I'm sorry. I also need to get an x-port, and hope it will work for once instead of at some dieties whim.

Again, I'm sorry.

I see what you mean talentless. It's kind of impossible to resolve the issue though because if a super pro has a bad race that still finishes high, they should have the right to say how the race went. Of course if someone wins the race and carries on about how disappointed they are and how much their race sucked its not surprising that some drivers may be a little upset. What can ya do?

Congrats to everyone. 👍
And thank you very much everybody, for the friendly atmosphere surrounding this online racing.
And for the division idea. It's brilliant. Ending on the podium in my class looks way better than second last overall. I just love it. :D :D :D

None taken.

I usually don't complain, about how slow I am.
Because there's always someone to do it for me.

I got a pretty competetive T2 on one of my runs, but I snaked the car on the turns after, unfortunately that was the best lap so I lost a couple of seconds there.

Congrats to all you really fast drivers, and to Jpec7 for smokin' Div 3.

hippyneil: Hey, accidents happen! Must have been a great feeling while it lasted though! :)

Talentless: Good luck with your xport. No better tool for finding the good lines etc., especially in a series like this where so many of the top drivers share their replays. Now if they would just share them a little earlier in the week...
