My best advice to everyone is to not write yourself off! I consider myself of modest skill, when I started out I wanted to break 1:20 on my favorite track,gran valley. For a while I couldn't do it, finally I did. Slowly went lower and lower until I had the top spot. Scooby and BigP murdered that time and now I'm sitting at 1:15.677. Realize that you are driving a supergrippy GT3 F1 and LET ER' RIP BABY!

Well my skills with the F1's are sorely lacking... and with rally, so Im just gonna try and do my best to keep up if thats how the dice fall.
Any of you div 2 guys that wanna give me an idea of where I stand can post up t2s but for me... I like a little secrecy in races where people are driven toward competition.
So, I guess Im gonna go work at the f1 while Ive got the free time.
Back some time soon.
Any settings/technique suggestions would be greatly appreciated, so please feel free to do that also.
btw, right now, my initial f1 times have fallen in the 43.0 range, so Im gonna work and see if I can improve a bit. Settings wise, Im running the car soft for curb work. My main settings concern is downforce.
Is anyone else running this without tcs? Its suprised me too due to the fact that my ds1's lack of throttle control doesn't bother me in this race (compared to last race) as much as my lack of steering control. For some reason the ds1 does have analog steering control, but it is not nearly as well "tempered" for subtle angles of stick manipulation. I think it's just that the ds1 I am using was designed for ps1 and not ps2.
Anyway, now Im leaving... bye.

So far I have just maxed out downforce, TCS and ASM both at 0, auto trans at 30 and all LSD down to 5...I'm thinking about messing up with the suspension to see what it does.

and right now I'm on the 4th race of the polygony digital cup...I'm gonna race till the 7th and then cancel next ones(still I'll have the win) and to the save trick to get the F094/S at 829hp instead of the 813hp I have.
That reminds me Gt3mich, weren't we on a team for a race in the 5 race f1 series at gtf? Wasn't enough time to really get the team feel but it was just something I remembered now, do you recall that? If I remember right Iforce won the qualifying with a new hotlap record, and I barely edged him in the one shot race. This week is like memory lane for me.
I haven't turned on the ps2 after the half hour CFM challenges today but I'll start tomorrow and maybe post some sets. A couple general tips-tranny trick the gears and don't be afraid of the rumbles.

I'll give it my best shot. I have only a few days to get my time in and this car is going to take some getting used to.
Two questions:
1) What the hell is poly 001? I'm guessing it's only in the european version of the game but I want to make sure.
2) why are people posting T3 times? There doesn't seem to be a T3.

Geeze, talk about a sad reminder of how slow I can be.
I just stopped in at the records of raceline out of curiousity and realized that, the un-known to me, sough was holding the title for the best rome/formula lap. Nice lap on that one indeed.
Atleast I have any idea of what I want to work towards.

If I ever get my f-en PS2 I'll be able to lay down some times. The F1 cars are super fun.

Okay I couldn't resist, running on my extremely crappy tv now but it will have to do for awhile(long story dont ask)
T2 from my drivetrain record here is 42.7...in a gtone race car, that shows the potential here. Think about the vertigo that was run here. Low 1:05s that is downright nasty I could never touch that. Sorry for the peptalk feel, just trying to encourage everyone to raise the bar.
T2's are alright,still need to fix my gears and tweak suspension and lsd. If you guys want me to post sectors I will but at the risk of sounding cocky,I don't want to discourage anyone who is far back.
btw a little brake while on throttle in certain spots can help imo.

The PD cup has 10 20-lappers. I´m not going to drive them . So I´m really not sure, will I get the poly001 somewhere.

Well any recommendations for which car to use in the Polyphony Digital Cup?
It is one of the few I still haven't done and I don't have a Poly 001 for this weeks race, only Poly 002's. It says u have to use a car without modification. Does this mean one straight out of the dealers and U are not allowed to do anything to it? If so there isn't that much of a choice. Any help would be appreciated.

I find this race extremely difficult. I can still see lots of seconds to pick up. But I don't have the skills to fully control my poly001 in this narrow track.
Well, I have 1 hour before work this morning, so head high and back to smash some more polys.
