Okay, so I've had this for a while now and recently seen my GP about it (to no avail), so I just thought I'd post here to see what you think.

It's like a blood blister that's been trapped under some very hard skin and hurts increasingly everyday. I have no idea what to do and all my GP prescribed is some Daktarin which isn't doing much..

Also read a few articles which had many different strange ways to help?

So anyone with experience of something like this what should I do? Pop it? Wait till my prescription is up and go back? Go again as soon as possible?

Quite baffled by it to be honest.

Should probably point out that that's on the bottom left hand side of my heel.

Did you happen to step on something and not realize it a while back? Is it relatively hard? It looks like you may have been cut and it swelled up and then turned into a blood blister which in turn hardened under the skin causing pain.

No offence but that question is unanswerable due to me not knowing ;)

And I think it started off as a normal blister 2 years ago and went dormant.. Until it went black and painful (roughly a month ago)

If it came back it may not be a blister. It could be some type of blood infection or virus, especially if it has returned. I could be wrong though. It sounds like some type of infection.

Try keeping that area as clean as possible and dry as possible, moisture may affect it.

I happened to read something about bad circulation relating to hard black skin on the toes but don't know if that could be it for my heel..

That is possible too. I'm not a doctor however so I couldn't exactly tell you. Having had feet problems as well though I gained a little knowledge over the past few years.

Don't worry, my doctor couldn't tell me either and said it was athletes foot..

Not sure how he came to that conclusion..

You have the plague sorry.

On the other hand I don't know.

If it gets worse go to a hospital as its the rising pressure that hurts most likely.

I can beleive that but you don't seem to have all the symptoms so what I said sounds more convincing lol

Yeah, if it hurts it probably means it's going off and you don't really want it on you. Since it's mostly hard skin there anyway and whatever liquid is in there is probably in it's own little bubble - or has turned solid, I'd get a scalpel and whip off a few layers of skin, take it down to the blister and see what happens, it's likely to be very sore whatever you do. If in doubt dig it out!

Please Note: I'm not a Doctor and following my advice is likely to be foolish.

I would like to think my doctor knows the symptoms for it :nervous:

And well waiting 5-6 hours for someone to say come back next week and we'll have an appointment set up for you, and going back to wait another 2 hours due to people who say "Now that I'm here could you also check ..." to the doctor.. :grumpy:

Anyway my mom wouldn't bring me to the hospital if my leg was hanging off, and even then it'd be a stretch for her to do so..

I'm prone to foolish things and have already taken a few layers off by hand when my skin was wet..

If anything I'd be likely to grab a needle and puncture it, if no fluid comes out I'll go to a doctor and hopefully he can dig it out..

I notice the pink mark above the black mark. Any idea what that is? You probably should go check for fractures if you do a lot of exercise or repeated moves with your feet in any activities.

I had a 'blob' like that on my back, once. It turned out to be skin cancer.

Go to a doctor and get it checked out.

It's not athlete's foot. I have had the exact same thing happen to me. I wear boots quite a lot, so my heels are usually quite blistered. Just make sure to clean it often and make sure you wear something that is comfortable for your feet. Mine has gone away, although my heels are still quite blistery.

I'm not a doctor, but that's mild-gangrene. It's ok though, it's not always fatal - sometimes an amputation will suffice. 👍

Hope that helps.

Ew. Just saw some pictures of the more major cases of that. I think he will do just fine and get his foot operated since he after all has such a small area.

I play an awful lot of football and Gaelic Football but I doubt it's a fracture, checked again today and the pink mark was gone anyway 👍

Normally I do wear something comfortable but since I buy all my football boots over the internet I can't try them on for size first, but saying that I've never had any problems with my right foot with my current pair.

Give it a prod with a needle and see if any puss comes out. If some does come out, give it a good clean and see what happens. Try and keep socks and shoes off for a while.

Been considering this for a while.. Might relieve the pressure and pain a bit.. :dopey:

I feel . . a disturbance . . in the Force.

Are you fiddling with that implant again, Matty? You know what the Aliens told you during the Abduction.

Seriously, though - you don't want to make a choice between the smell of almonds and Tetenus. Choose to see your doc again, if it doesn't heal the way it should.

I'd rather not that happen to me..

Anyway, it's still there and after some poking with a needle I cant be sure whether or not if there is any liquid inside it cause I don't know how deep I actually got the needle..

Skin was very hard and I was afraid to push too hard incase it suddenly broke through and I hit the bone.

Needle = Bad Idea.

I had something that looked similar due to a puncture on my heel. A small I-pod connector was on the ground under my computer chair, sitting pointed up, and I stepped directly onto it, and it hurt like a 🤬. The blister/scab/whatever was black, but it was the size of the puncture and it got hard and raised. It took weeks to go away and hurt like a 🤬. For a bit I had to double up socks on that foot- that was in the winter so it wasn't bad.
