Tables look fine. Don't forget the updated handicaps at some point; Jam -2pp, Glen -2pp, Mikey -6pp, Caine -10pp?

Oh yea, correct 👍

Today in the mornings Sean Edwards died on Queensland Raceway in Australia :indiff::(
R.I.P. mate :bowdown::(

Oh no :( another death in Motorsport :( this year has to be the darkest year for a very long time :(
R.I.P. Sean

r.i.p sean.

+1

such sad news. There have been some huge crashes the last few years, and a lot of driver's have been very lucky to survive, just goes to show how much safety has improved in the sport, unfortunately some people aren't as lucky as others :(

Not really sure how they can improve things at the moment, but it usually takes a series of incidents like this + A.S for example to make people open their eyes and make changes to safety.

-------
Here is an example of 1 really lucky guy

Amazes me how you can have a crash like that and survive, and then a relatively minor incident can cause a fatality like in Senna's case

Not sure about continuing with this unless there's a serious upturn in numbers. I don't feel that the time it takes to do a setup, work out fuel consumption/pit strategy plus the 3 hours of Q/Race on the evening itself is paid back in terms of having a very eventful race. 2hrs of anywhere against only 4 or 5 other cars is not really my idea of fun. I've already attended more races than the other 5 part time drivers combined so I've given it more than a fair chance. I will turn up on Saturday but any less than 10 cars (including me but excluding DJ) and I'm done. Sorry.

To be honest mate I know the feeling :(

After having put about 3 months of planning and testing in before starting the series to then have over half the drivers either not turn up or pull out is really disappointing :(

I just hope that more of the drivers will start to turn up :nervous:

Besides anything else, there are that select few who are making all the effort to arrive and it is a shame that these drivers are not being rewarded with a good race every weekend. As that is what it is all about especially as there is no way of making any type of real prize to work for at the end of the championship.

Please guys I don't want excuses, just drivers on track!

Practice lounge is open

I have been doing some weather simulations to find the best setting for the race I will update after practice with what weather setting I will be using to try and simulate the weather report 👍

yeah,i'm with Rob..and that fact we've been involved since the series before the wgt1 and it fell apart due to no shows i feel like i've wasted months and months on this..and on top of that i've got 3 young kids and a mrs that works shifts means that any race i attend has been at the expense of getting baby sitters or putting the kids to bed early or gettin the mrs to take the kids out altogether..it really is alot of effort...and i bet most of the no shows dont have kids and are not that busy and just simply cant be bothered their arse!

Here,s an idea how about for gt6, merging with another series and taking the most commited drivers from both..theres bound to be more series suffering from the same problem??

That's a good idea mate, I will keep my eyes open for that series 👍

But this is only my 1st proper attempt at a series so numbers were always going to be hard to get. Especially when you take into account the game is so old now so some people are doing other things, then we have GTA V now out so more people not playing GT5 anymore. I just hope I can get my series set up nice and quick and get myself established as a GT6 series host and then the numbers will follow.

The problem is that we had 18 people sign up
regular attenders - 9
other attenders - 3
no shows at all - 4
As long as all the regulars can get there we will be fine 👍
last race was a big issue but:
Dj- slow but showes - hung over - no show
Dan- again slow but shows - PS3 crash
Jammy - prior notice of non attendance due to other commitments
those issues aside there would have been 9 on track.

I most likely will stick out this series,if the rest of the committed drivers do..but you can defo sign me up for your series on gt6.. 👍

Oh there is no doubt I will take this till the end as I know I have at least 6 drivers that will join me on that.
But my thoughts will now be looking at what I might do on GT6 and how I can change things to bring more attention to the series. Also I would think there will be more drivers on the market when GT6 is released.

Yeh, sorry - I overestimated the amount of time is have available....

I'll be here to the end of series every race that i have promise to join.
These races are what i've wanna do (long ones).

@ duck, you are not the only one, but after this weekend you will be taken off the sign up list and you'r car slot opened for anyone else that would like to join.

I am going to have a good sort out of all these sort of things, drivers and cars that don't need to be in the tables and see who we have left.

WEATHER SETTING

After hours of playing with the weather settings today I have come to the conclusion that the only stable settings is either full on or full off  otherwise the system has a mind of it's own

So I have decided to go for this:
Weather 25%
Changeability 5
Surface water 0
So I would expect the race to start dry and end dry with some rain somewhere in the middle :D

Mikey you know me, I would race every single event I can get :D
So I am taking part 100 % sure... I really can´t make out why people are signing up for such a series, if they skip all the races anyway. I mean, they are reading all the rules and dates for the races, so they can see if they have time, don´t they?
By the way I want to thank every REAL racer in here to do all the races and spend that much time, it´s fun to challenge you :)
I just hope that all the independents will attend the next races. If not, they can sign out. :yuck:

Mikey: How you going to set time change? Starttime and time progress?
I'm gonna test all those setting (time & weather) somehow.

I guessed you wouldn't leave :D
And the issue of people signing up ant then not showing up to even 1 race is the biggest issue :( maybe they saw the testing times and knew they couldn't keep up so didn't bother. Maybe next series will have a pro and am championship within it. Wanted to do that this time but had no definite way of separating the drivers into the 2 before the start of the series :(
After this weekend all drivers that have not attended a race will be removed from the sign up list and the spaces opened for any new drivers wishing to join 👍 I might also ask for everyone left to confirm their status for the 2nd half of the series 👍 I would take a guess at 9 definitely seeing this out to the end but after my sort out next week, we will see what's what :D

Time will be set for race start at 13:00 progressing 12 to make a full 24hrs (Rob was right on that 👍)

Lounge opening now, please try to get here as soon as possible to deal with any connection issues before qualifying is due to start 👍

Yes, I know I keep complaining about the weather but I don't think it adds anything to the race other than confusion about tyres/fuel and brutally difficult driving conditions which splits the field.

I was looking forward to a good old fashioned draft fest; close pack racing but I hardly saw anyone after lap 3! I'd be surprised if many people truly enjoyed it. I didn't particularly, because other than through the split times, I didn't feel like I was racing anyone.

I won't mention it again, but with numbers on the low side i think it's worth at least asking how people feel about it.

What the race, what the weather:crazy:
I really enjoyed 👍
I like weather races, because it's bring more possibility to strategy.

You're Finnish. Obviously you love brutally difficult low grip driving conditions

Maybe I'm wrong and everyone loves the wet conditions? But if having a dry race, makes for a closer more competitive race, surely that is the better way to set the race up. I don't think it's a coincidence that Le Mans gave the most spread out finish times of the season.

I liked that race, but I did too much mistakes to finish 2nd :( I was looking forward to have a fight with you rob, but after the strong rain and you going on the rain tyres 3 laps before me, I kinda couldn´t catch you up again :( And of course Mikey did a great race, my respect and my thanks to all that finished! :)
