What are we expecting from Tokyo Game Show this year?

I'm expecting more cars(I hope Toyota TS030) and probably one track to be revealed. I'm thinking they will expand on the new track creator and from what was hinted reveal some sort of simple livery editor. I think they will also go into detail about the new online features.

Livery Editor

When asked (in somewhat broken English) if players will be able to customize cars with their own “photos”, “beyond just colors”, in GT6, Kazunori confirmed this is “something they are working on right now,” and mentions that more information on the feature will be revealed at the Tokyo Game Show (September 19th).

So we should expect to see some sort of livery editor at Gamescom, then.

Expect latest demo shown at TGS
-16 cars race (cockpit view) with no frame rate issue.
-Spectator seat have crowd.
-Aggressive AI.
-Cars light reflection on the wet road.
-Shadows flickering fix.
-Fence shimmering fix.

I'm expecting more GT5 standard cars that are now premium ('73 Skyline!), some screenshots of Mt. Panorama, another mind blowing trailer & one of the new SEMA award cars.

Faster AI, though not necessarily more complex.

And a surprise. So far we've seen more of the Gran Turismo recipe, further improving GT5 after years of patching and adding content, but nothing really new in-game yet or that we shouldn't be expecting, just pure manpower but without ideas. The few pieces that are an addition were only shown as trailers or as photos, such as the new course maker location, though not in-game, and the other main changes were improvements in aspects GT5 seriously lacked in, thus expected.
For example, and here's the annoying comparison, at Gamescom there were some pieces of Forza5 footage that were jaw dropping and I recall one that was a direct shot towards GT5, with the SL300 and the better execution of the "GT Vision" that the Forza franchise lacked a bit, so an addition to it and a new idea. Here PD could take a note from Forza Itself or from PC sims, respectively in the form of a livery editor (could be simpler) or a simulation racing mode (safety rating, same car, cockpit only, without most aspects of the hud, no srf and assists available based on each car type).

Amazingly, I have the exact same expectations, just apart from the info on the course creator 👍.

Our two main weapons are fear, surprise, uh, our THREE main weapons are fear, surprise, and an almost fanatical devotion to Gran Turismo... :sly:

" ... And a deep inability to accept responsibility for our own expectations."

"FOUR weapons! Our four main weapons are ..."

I expect to see Gran Turismo Concept Movie #5.
Leaving #6 at the end of October, a week or two before release.

Anything else is pure speculation. What I'd really want to see is how the course maker works, what Andalucía is all about, "can't say no" to motorbikes and physics, AI and sound.

Or I could just wait another month for the actual game, I guess.

Expected:
livery editor announcements/details
Course creator demo/details
Epicsauce trailers
new Cars (with the livery editor demo)
New tracks ( Ascari, Bathurst, old favorites)
neat tidbits that keep us talking
Oh, more completed Vision GT concepts
Inevitably:
everthing except all those demos and the GT concepts reveal
P.S. McLaren P1 I don't see happening because Forza is trying to woo McLaren. As for LaFerrari. Add a racing version to that!

I expect a few tears from us gamers, whether for better or worse! :):nervous:

But I do expect news on GT's first ever livery editor. I anticipate very basic designs like stripes and other pre-determined shapes. And quite possibly flags, since GT is a worldly game.

Anything less than that and Kaz loses -100 respect points.

I'd love:
Track editor showing off.
Surprise inclusion of a useful, if not detailed, livery designer.
Also showing off some of the 1000s of aero parts.
New day/night/weather cycle having been put onto more tracks ( I realise it can't be the case for all ).
Online competition generator and it's settings.
Massive expansion of A-Spec career races, akin to GT4.
Bathurst as 7th location. GT classic track packs DLC preview.

I expect:
A new trailer with very little info on it, except the odd flash of footage, suggesting a new addition or two.
A Q&A session with Kaz, giving lots of vague answers to questions he's been asked a thousand times already.
Maybe talk about social media and portable integration being something i'm supposed to want in my gaming "experience" these days.

Apologies for being so cynical, but this console generation of games, for me personally, has been choc full of disappointment across the board :D

re: trailers nowadays... what is it with teasers all the time? Just release the info ! I'm never teased or excited by trailers that show nothing concise...i'm just frustrated by it! It surely doesn't matter if we have all the info at the start of the year or spread out up until the day before release. We can't act upon it until we get the game anyway, so stop being vague Polyphony and tell us all you know

After an average showing at E3 and Gamescom.Redeem yourselves PD at TGS (said this before Gamescom but there you go)

That :nervous:

A brief look at customization (especially wheels), and maybe some new Premium cars. Not all of them though. I want it to be a surprise.

Also the new career mode. That's one of the most important things for me to know.

And just maybe some "un-standards."

To be quite honest, I'm also expecting a livery editor announcement. The other announcements can be surprises like at Gamescom, but even better. :)

To tell you the truth, I'm excited with the livery editor, but I try not to think much about it because I feel it's only going to be a very simple selection of decals for each car. But who knows...

I think I would be happy with stripes. I think if we had a full editor that would be all I could do anyway with the extent of my skills.

That's true. If it was, like say, adding stripes, numbers, decals stickers on to your car, I wouldn't mind at all. I'll like to design cars looking like the ones from Burnout 3. :)

I wonder with this livery editor, we'll be able to design our license plates?
