We went to our local BBQ place and had shredded pork barbecue, baked beans, and cole slaw.

No picture of the food, but...

Cannibalism

And they have a smokehouse in the back. There are four kinds of sauces on every table and spicy pickles and onions next to the drink machine.

This is a medium, of which splitting one with a buddy at lunch is the norm. It was hard to breathe at times. I could only eat 3 pieces. It's sitting in the fridge plotting it's vengeance!

"Our May Pizza of the month is the superbly spicy Carne Diablo! It's made with our homemade pizza sauce, mozzarella, chorizo sausage, ghost pepper jack cheese, and bacon. Try it if you dare. "

I had a kids meal at the Redhawks game - a hot dog, small drink and a bag of chips for $2.50. And an Angry Orchard for $6.

For lunch, I had some pulled pork, a couple ribs, and some green beans. The picture was taken after having already starting in on the food.

And here is what I had for dinner, some more pulled pork (made by me) and green beans:

Oh, and a Guinness.

Any country with buns that big deserves large amounts of meat for stuffing thereof.

Bags of luscious cherries have been popping up at the grocers lately. If life's a bowl of cherries, then make sure however small or large the bowl all the cherries are ripe. Nothing worse than chafing one's tongue with a sour cherry, when enjoying the ones that are fully ripe.

Of course life can also be a bowl of berries. :)

@Grayfox - the bread would last about three days in my home, about the time they would start losing freshness. School and work lunches, and odd snacks takes its toll.
Why is it that surfing the 'net makes teenagers hungry?

I, fortunately, have an authentic Italian bakery a short walk away from my home - and they have a 'backdoor' from which they sell to the public. The main business is providing stuff like the items pictured, wholesale and in bulk, to the major grocers.
I keep going back to the same opinion : no one knows dough like the Italians.
Well, cars, cake and ice cream are on that list, too.

The sliced bread fresh from the ovens makes for a lovely staple with beef and rutabaga stew:

This is what we call 'comfort food' over here. :)

Black Angus Ground Round, a little over 1/3 pound, grilled 6 minutes a side, direct med/high heat 500 degrees (Weber Genesis 2010), American cheese, mayo (non-diet!), and Vidalia onions. The heat of the burger straight off the grill onto the bun, warmed the onions nicely.

Tomorrow night, Friday, is pizza night!

I went to a Polish restaurant last night and had something like this: potato pancakes with beef stew... absolutely lovely.

I'm suffering a bit today though, since we stayed for a few Polish beers as well - Polish beers typically don't come much lower than 5.6% ABV.

Made several pounds of boneless chicken breast, bell peppers, and portabella mushrooms over the last couple weeks in the George Foreman. 2lbs of chicken takes about 6 minutes to cook max.

  • 2 lbs seasoned with Mrs Dash
  • 2 lbs with McCormick "Mesquite" marinade. I honestly think this is the best marinade I have ever used for chicken.:drool:

HOME RUN SOLER!!!

Cheers gents, the wind at Wrigley is blowing out!

Rain all day and I was lazy so I finally got to try a Screamin' Sicilian Mambo Italiano. The best frozen pizza I ever had.

Doctored mine up with hot banana peppers, oregano, garlic powder, and hot pepper flakes.
They are VERY active on social media and supportive of people of people who mention them. They don't take this form of promotion for granted!

EDIT: LETS GO HAWKS!!!

Friday night I made lemon dill Swai with homemade bread rolls.

The bread was a little heavy, so I need to adjust my dry ingredients. So goes the first try at creating your own recipe. The flavor was pretty good. I just need to lighten it up a bit.

2 lbs seasoned with Mrs Dash
2 lbs with McCormick "Mesquite" marinade.

Have you tried Mrs Dash's marinades?

Is Taco Cabana any good?

I think most of their food is ok. It is very fresh. The one thing I love from there is their crispy beef tacos. It is the only thing I get.

Their charro beans are also very good.

I'm gonna give a drop next time I'm in Texas. The last time I was there visiting, we went to this really great Diner. Man, I love Mexican food and the proportions. A heavy stomach and abundant heat isn't a good mix for me, though.
