I think I'm going to have a Renault Alpine as a snack, this afternoon.

Cheeky boi: "Anyone fancy a Croissant et Renault?"
Somebody who thinks they know French: "Hang on, you're supposed to eat the Renault!?"
Cheeky boi: "No, it's Renault with a Croissant, it's the kids's meal. But if you want to, there's no reason you can't eat the Renault." *orders the meal, is served 5 minutes later*:

Been almost 24 hours since I ate these, but I still want to post it, because it’s quite a special occasion:

It’s been almost 10 years since I had a proper doughnut at a local Krispy Kreme, and after the store’s closure, I have never seen a proper (read that as glazed) doughnut. Since then, I’ve bought numerous dounts made by various other outlets, but none has managed to replicate that savoury taste or glazed crust. Recently my sister went to Japan, and despite the official website listing it as one of its served countries, her quest (upon my request) for doughnut bore no fruit. In fact there was not a single doughnut store she could find there.

So when my sister told me that there was a local restaurant that serves doughnuts near where I work, I decided to bite and give it a chance, hoping that the doughnuts are glazed there (or have the special ‘something’ that Krispy Kreme doughnuts possess).

Alas, while they aren’t disappointing, they still bear no resemblance to the ones I’ve been seeking for for so long, at least not taste-wise. So my tastebuds remain dissatisfied, and the pursuit for that long gone sensation continues...

And yes, the only global doughnut chain store to have graced Hong Kong to date is Krispy Kreme, at least to the best of my knowledge.

Do you have Starbucks? They have glazed doughnuts iirc, but yeah honestly they're not as good as Krispy Kreme's... might be worth taking a shot if you haven't yet, since they might be the closest :)

TB
We had a Krispy Kreme in Fargo but it closed years ago (it's a mattress store now ). Thankfully we have Sandy's. So damn good.

Our former Krispy Kreme is now a vitamin shop.

And there is a local shop which is amazing so that’s my go to on the occasion I want a donut. There is also a recently opened Dunkin‘ Donuts but I can’t stand them.

I don’t think my local Starbucks stores serve doughnuts. I’ve seen popcorn from them and croissants (which also happen to be another favourite product of flour of mine), but no doughnuts so far. :indiff:

Clover chips! Those are soooooo good! Been ages since I’ve had some
Haha yeah, it is :D
Well, if Pizza Hut there is anything like it is here, he made the right choice.
It had actual pizza there which I didn't eat (I hate Pizza Hut), then my classmates decided it was a good idea to put the bread inside the empty box
