I made and inhaled some Khao Mun Gai (Hainanese chicken rice?), with enough for some leftovers, bro.

It's uh... chicken cooked in broth, served with rice steamed in broth, a side of broth soup, sliced cucumbers on the side, and a dish of some tasty mildly spicy sweet viscous ginger soy sauce.

Kinda like this pic I lifted off the internet, but mine's not as pretty:

I get weekly at school and it never disappoints. We have many version of the chicken; some grilled with bread crumbs, some boiled, some stewed, some with a glaze. It’s always good probably because of the rice.

I bunked off a work meeting to join a visiting professor for lunch today, and we went to a pub that does a steak baguette which was delicious the last time I had it.

This time, however, was a bit of a disaster - they didn't ask how we wanted it cooked, and mine was blue - it was barely edible, and when the waitress asked if our food was OK, I told her mine was badly uncooked and I couldn't eat it. She offered me another one but it was too late because I was pushed for time.

I left my colleagues £10 to cover my meal, but I'm hoping that they might not charge for my meal as it was really poor.

Oh! The crispy breaded chicken with the sweet chili sauce? That's pretty good, too! I haven't had it in a very long time, and never learned to make it. 🤤

The rice is super good! 😅

I stopped by Uwajimaya to get something for dinner. As soon as I walked in the door there was a display for Lays chips for what I assume is the Chinese market. Once I saw the flavors, I had to buy one of each.
