We don't have Thanksgiving in the UK (although we seem perfectly happy to partake in its auxiliary benefits like cheap goods sales). I never listened to that Arlo Guthrie song (still haven't, at the time of writing) and have always misread the title, thinking it was about a diner shooting.
For my money, this is Paul McCartney's finest hour. It's not about what he plays for me. It's about what he doesn't play. No fancy solos or orchestration. Blackbird's always been my favourite Beatles song and the other three of them are off making tea. Guess there's no accounting for taste.
