I would say the Eric wow but then I have to say the Geddy wow, oops the silly drummer dude that writes the words. This song brings me back to years gone by and I love it. That is rnr
I'll come right out and say it...I'm cheesy. I just picked up Stampede on vinyl for the first time (I've had it on CD since, oh, probably the late '80s) and, as I occasionally do when I listen to an old record, I treat it as though it had just come out.
(Scene: My den, a couple of hours ago)
So here I am, lying on my back on the carpet in front of my cabinet turntable with an old pair of studio headphones resting on my forehead because the band has lost its spring and if I have it on top of my head, they'll just fall off. I've cranked the volume knob to about three quarters full steam and have the album fold open against my one leg, folded across the other which is bent at the knee, foot flat on the floor. I'm looking at the liner notes and can't help but notice 'Take Me In Your Arms (Rock Me A Little While)' is the only track without a writing credit attributed to Tom, Patrick, Keith or Skunk.
Fast forward, I hop onto Wikipedia and discover that not only was the song not written by a Doobie, it wasn't originally recorded by them either.
News to me...
Anyway, here's a couple more that a few out there may be unaware are also covers:
I'm listening to this whole album for the first time. I have always thought this band would be better with a male lead singer.
Still, way above average as is. 👍
On the train Home and playing this. Can't wait for the album to drop.
Edit
Now in bed and got this going.
Both getting a vinyl release this year. The Drexciya track is from an album back in the day on Warp Records and already had a vinyl release so this one will be a reissue.
