What are your "go to" 400, 500 and 650PP cars?

400 PP: Mazda Atenza with full weight reduction RH tires only and tuning down power after every race. ( Ive used a Mazda Miata tuned to 396 PP and won as well.
500 PP: Nissan Skyline R32 with full weight reduction race exhaust RH tires and loads of tuning down the engine.
650 PP: I have not found that perfect car for me yet. R35 TC just can't cut it for me against the Mclaren F1, which is always there. I'll find the right one for me.

Lambob
1 million / lap in 6:30s on the Nordschleife 650pp seasonal, which by the way, is winnable in a 505pp CSL at 6:49s, beating AI's 6:55

Just seen this in another thread and thought it worth adding to the discussion here.
I for one will be having a crack at it in CSL later 👍

A-Spec:
400PP: Mercedes 300SL '54 or Opel Speedster
500PP: Lancia Delta or Opel Speedster Turbo
650PP: McLaren F1 GTR Race Car

B-Spec:
400PP: Opel Speedster
500PP: Opel Speedster Turbo
650PP: McLaren F1 GTR Race Car

Woah buddy, what you trying to say ? Just cause they are my go to cars means I'm a bad driver. Now that's a little judgemental if you ask me. I merely want to get them over with until 650, where I try to find the fastest car and set-up. Explain your reasoning please ...

The Suzuki GSX/R Concept is one of the most overrated cars in GT5.

The Suzuki GSX/R Concept is one of the most overrated cars in GT5.

Be that as it may, other people have listed it and not suffered an attack on their driving skills. That was my main point of indignation.

EDIT: As roflcopter pointed out, it's fun to drive too. And you can easily use it below the PP margins for a challenging race also.

400PP: lots of stuff, using tuned Nissan Leaf lately
500PP: tuned Lotus 111r or tuned Tesla
650PP: GT-R R35 TC
The 650pp races are the hardest by far.

B-Spec
Gran Turismo Racing Kart 125 SPL for short tracks

I need to try that

B-Spec
400pp: Nissan Silvia S14, or Mazda RX7 FC
500pp: Honda NSX
650pp: Nissan GT-R TC

For A-Spec I use a few different cars, or I just go through my car list and try one that I haven't used before

400pp - Ever so slightly tuned Citroen C4.
500pp - My beastly tuned Atenza, nimble Elise '96 or drifty Supra '88.
650pp - Nothing, don't tend to go over 550/600PP.

400pp- Renault Clio V6 (premium) tuned obviously
500pp- renault clio V6 Premium (tuned), maybe M3 CSL
600pp- NSX Concept LM Road Car
650pp- Chaparall 2j, BMW McLaren F1 Race Car

I like the Clio's a lot because they're mid engine and handle great. They have almost no understeer and don't need downforce even on the ring. I've won a lot of races with those things. I typically add weight (if I already reduced it stage 3), and move the ballast to get the weight distribution at 46 front 54 rear. I recommend that weight distribution on almost any car. It gives grip to the rear wheels and the car usually will turn in very easily. I hate understeer

400-1993 Mazda 323 or 1986 Toyota MR2 supercharged

500- MG TF160 (I believe it's called) or stock Toyota Celica rally car (standard)

550- Shelby GT500

600- Lancer Evo DLC car (very good at Nurburgring)

650- Audi R8 Team Playstation

(thought I'd throw in a few extra PP's I use for online race)

Dude there is no Shelby GT500 in GT5. You mean the Shelby Series Supercharged? That is a great car. The Mustangs are terrible though, too much understeer. I love the elenor mustang but not for it's handling

For 400PP: Elise type 72... not the best, but burns the AI in these events... easy to find, cheap to tune and run.

For 500 PP, I have a few cars: Ford RS200, RSX type S, and my recently acquired Elise 111R.

For 650 PP I always go for my Special tune RX-7 TC. This car at 650 makes the race a joke... I choke it down to 625 PP with a mid range turbo and a few other classified adjustments. The car will actually pull a faster time around nurburgring with my 625 PP tune on it than it would with full power.

I'm shocked that most of you guys are using the same car everytime. And yet there's a thousand thread with people wanting more car go figures.

Anything that isnt the expected 'norm' for the respective PP classes :sly:

400PP - A stock-power tuned Hommel Berlinette R/S Coupe
450PP - Nissan EXA Canopy L.A.Version Type S '88 - A truly amazing FF car!
500PP - A Citroen C4 Road Car specifically tuned for 500PP and Sports Hards, works well
550PP - Subaru Legacy Wagon, because wagons are cool.
600PP - My sports tuned Dodge Viper SRT-10 Coupe (2nd gen, not ACR) to be more original
650PP RACE - Mazda RX7 TC, even though it dosent reach 650, its still a blast!
650PP ROAD - Citroen GT Road Car, fully tuned and in Matte Black. So Awesome~

400 - varied, but usually Mini Cooper '11
500 - varied
550/560 - RE Amemiya FD3S / Skyline R34 / Amuse 380RS, tuned
650 - Nissan GT-R R35 GT500 Stealth, stage 3 turbo + race softs

nothing for 600 I think because I rarely enter 600pp events

400 - Audi Quattro
500 - Mugen S2K

That's all I really use, haha. I stick to the lower PP stuff, keep it fairly tame and reasonable.

well there's the GT350R...

Haha, I thought I was alone with this one! Looks terrible but it's quite surprising as you point out. I drag it out every now and again.

650pp - Detuned Mazda Furai '08 - makes the McLaren F1 GTR Race Car look as fast as a brick wall :P

400pp- Opel Speedster
500pp- Suzuki GSX R/4 Concept
650pp- Depends, I always lose, tend to try with the GT-R TC.

But the Speedster and GSX dominate the competition. Good for grinding.

McLaren F1 road car with all aero mods, Race suspension lowered and stiffened, exhaust, air filter and race ecu etc, with 6 speed gearbox, modded up to 644pr with race soft tires, handles and accelerates like a beast!

450PP - Nissan EXA Canopy L.A.Version Type S '88 - A truly amazing FF car!

I'd keep it to 400, but there are a lot of other FF in the same about 2 liter category that I think are quicker and easier to manage. The Pulsar isn't loose, just doesn't scale as well. I'd refer drivers to

Talon
any of the Hyundai coupés
New Beetle
FTO (clearly the ugliest car ever made)

there are lots more.

400pp Lancia delta Hf unless Bob's driving in which case Integra R
500pp Elise 111r
650pp Zonda Lm on some tracks, Stealth Gt-R on others

Vol Jbolaz

Good sir, I'm still waiting for your reason for why I'm a bad driver due entirely to my car choice. Please respond :)

400pp Lotus Elise 111R de-tuned/ballast
500pp Lotus Elise 111R fully-tuned
650pp Nissan GT-R TC (love this car)

I like to mix it up and try other cars too, now I have acquired the Suzuki GSX-R Concept I will be giving that a run for it's money.
