New nsx!
s3000 and i buy 3000 copies
Younguns3000?
The replacement for the S2000. It's release date is to be announced yet.
YoungunAnyway, Honda wouldnt put a 3.0litre engine in a 2 seater roadster anyway, not good balance.
The car is yet to be annouced. Just mock ups from car magazine editors. Closest official thing i've seen is the EV-STER Concept.
Anyway, Honda wouldnt put a 3.0litre engine in a 2 seater roadster anyway, not good balance.
So is GT6. Another similarity is both are coming *soon*.
There are plenty of 2 seater roadsters with 300hp or more and people complain about the s2000 being underpowered at lower revs, so it's not farfetched.
Also, magazines.
the Ariel atom uses a 3.0 Honda engine and that's a 2 seated, also seems pretty well balanced to me,![]()
Also the Morgan roadster, Alfa Romeo GTV, and if they don't get you going then what about a 7.0 2 seated sports car? The corvette.
Please if you don't know what you are talking about then please don't.
Anything in the middle sounds wrong (honda s2500, honda s2876), so it has to be called s3000.
Doesn't have to be strictly a 3.0, for example could be a 3.5 (accord v6, which is said to produce 300hp) or a hybrid (the direction honda is heading to), just like the s2000 AP2 model (2.2).
YoungunFirst ones were 2l K20A engine from honda, and V8 was a 3l Twin-Hayabusa engine.
Three things
1. Not what i ment, and not really drivers cars. MX-5 is a close rival or porsche Boxster S. S2K was designed to be a roadster from the start and not converted to one.
Then say what it is you mean.
2. There great but they are the exseption that proves the rule. Small engine, Light weight and roof down = Great time on the road.
3. Not how honda works, there VTEC is what mke them them
I still think the S will be dropped for a new model. If it goes bigger then MX5 would own the Roadster Category. And the S3000 would be entering 370z/Audi TT (3.2) terratory but just cant see it. With the NSX being V6 with electric motors, S-K will need to stay small to keep the gap between these cars. As long as its not FWD.
Only car thats comes to mind worthy of naming is the BMW Z4 has a 3.0i. Its ok but understeers a bit.
OK. Here we go,
1. If its not what you meant then why didn't you say what you meant? The MX-5 is a close rival to what exactly? I hope you weren't referring to a S2000, because If you were our miles off.
2. How can 3 exceptions prove a rule? In face how can ANY exception prove a rule? Isn't that the job of an exception? To disprove things?
3. Not at any point did I mention how Honda "do things".
And after all this we forgot the NSX. Which IS made by Honda, IS a 2 seater and also made use of VTEC.
So to reiterate what I said before, please be sure you know what your talking about.
A rival for the S2000? I would say probably the Porsche Boxster S, but even that is a stretch.
As far as I'm concerned the conversation wasn't about hardtops and soft tops. It was that Honda would put a 3.0 engine in a 2 seater car. I have proved otherwise.
Honda wouldnt put a 3.0litre engine in a 2 seater roadster anyway, not good balance.
YoungunActually
Roadster, so yeh, you never read it properly. But it'll never happen, one more reason is the S2k started as the Honda Sport Study Model Concept Car in 1995. Now the new Honda Open Study Model Concept Car from 2008, Hybrid is the future of honda (and looking at it, wouldnt get a 3l or even a super/turbo charger under there).
Top Gear review cars so they compare rivals do they not?
I'll give you the fact that I never read it properly, because I didn't. That still doesn't prove that they never would do it. I agree with you on the hybrid thing though, although car company's have a funny old habit of doing things you don't expect.
