What cities need to be featured?

Nürnberg / Nuremberg would be fun just for the confusion factor - maybe people will finally stop confusing things (the number of people I've heard calling the Nürburgring the Nurembergring...) No idea if a fun or pretty circuit could be made there, though.

Oh, it already has been made. Back in 1947, in fact. (No idea whether the circuit is fun or pretty, though.) Fortunately they chose to call it the Norisring instead of the Nürnbergring or anything silly like that.

Ah, for some reason I assumed that Norisring was to Nürnberg what the A1- / Österreichring was to Zeltweg (although now that I think about it, that was an airfield, not a street circuit). Thanks.

Ironically, their attempt to reduce confusion in the naming actually caused my confusion, but that probably says more about me than anything else...

Anyway, Venice sounds like fun! :dopey:
Edinburgh could be interesting, specifically the old town immediately near the castle, as it literally is uphill both ways!

I would like to see....

Cape Town
Brighton & Hove
Detroit
Reykjavik
A faster London circuit

Each location should also have....

A dedicated street circuit
Photomode location
Course maker location using the surrounding scenery

They still do that? Been a while but I remember when they used to do that with Renault 5's, Vauxhall Nova GTE's, Peugeot 205 GTI's and Ford Fiesta XR2's :).

Indeed they do and well 'theres a maccy d's in da middle for da pitstops innit' which probably adds to the appeal. Also get various 50/125cc bikes desperately trying to prove they are 'real bikes'

Back on topic It would be nice to have a couple of areas of cities each with different characters (i.e. Rome, Tokyo & London) to free roam in possibly joined together by a motorway/autobahn! But I do realise this is very wishful thinking...

Hehe, that's what I've been saying in the free roam thread for a while now, plus the thing about "locations" having multiple functionality, as Nurburgthing said. It'd be pretty great, though.

I'd want Houston, but that would make me too much a homer. :) I don't think a city needs to be featured much like people say certain cars and manufacturers need to be featured, as if their exclusion would be a deal breaker. Don't get me wrong- I am about as much a city lover as anybody else. Gran Turismo 4 had three of my favorite cities in the world featured: New York City, Paris, and Tokyo. GT5 featured one of my most recent favorite world cities- London. Maybe if you're talking about cities I wouldn't mind seeing, and through the entirety of the GT franchise, only one of my favorite cities has yet to be featured in any way- Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Photo Mode or some races would be great to see in GT6 or in a future GT. I don't care even whether you have the track around Homebush Park that the V8 Supercars race or some fictional course utilizing parts around the Sydney Opera House or whatever, I'd love to see Sydney. I also just want to see a place like Sydney just to enjoy Gran Turismo racing in Australia and/or New Zealand.

No city "needs" to be in GT6, but I'd surely be open seeing a few nice cities worldwide. Other places I wouldn't mind (and I am not name dropping or spamming)... Chicago, San Francisco, Rio de Janeiro, Cologne (or Köln), Florence (Italy), Dubai, Mumbai, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Singapore, Shanghai, Melbourne, and Auckland... all among MANY others.

Special Stage city.

In the hypothetical case of a GT free-roam mode, they could give that as the city where we drive: just a few streets that integrate SSR11, SSR7, SSR5 and SSRX. They could also have your different garages (a la PGR, I loved that feature), GT Auto, and the various dealerships and tuning shops. Sort of your homebase from where you manage your car collection and your cars, then it's a short drive to the airport and off you go to Silverstone for the Clubman cup or whatever.

Yeah...it would be nice...just dreaming though :(

Iam a Japanese gt5 player, I always want a gt game with a Tokyo extreme racer base. I think it's nice change for gt. and online you can expand. Also there are events for compete. Such as class races like previous gt. still earn license. And street race as well includes everyday Tokyo traffic. And as stated, with gt auto as well. But best thing is street is not limit to Tokyo. But there is America, uk, where there is manufacture there is street able to drive to see the beautiful grafics. If you can make tracks in different background. A small loop street is not difficult...

Just dreaming....

I hope they also make some fictional cities, perhaps one named Turismo:sly: It's nice to have real cities and I hope they continue with that, but it would also be nice to have some cities created that are built up around what are natural race tracks, with swooping curves, sensible elevation changes and wide streets. I don't know if any of you have are from or have been to Spain but in those old towns and cities like Ronda the streets are awfully narrow for racing. It'll be fun to create a time attack course or cruise there, but it's a whole lot of effort for little reward if you can't make a decent race track there.

Building a fictional landscape with tracks on it, then building the city and adding cross streets and everything else around it, makes a lot of sense to me.

Realistically, I'd like something like Long Beach, and other places where there's actually city tracks in real life.

There has been a GTA photoshoot in Sydney today. I feel that Sydney is a decent chance for a photo mode or as a track location considering that in many cases when PD go to a country to scan one thing (in this case Bathurst), they'll scan something else as well.

I'd like to see the Seattle Circuit back, my personal favorite. Has a good balance of fast corners/slow corners, and plenty of straights. Just has good balance in general. (Not to mention it's my hometown, lol.)

Boring, Oregon

Been there a couple times, it is as you would expect, very boring.

I think they need to put Portland Int'l Raceway in GT6, but I've been saying that since the 90's

This. Real city courses absolutely. I lived in St. Petersburg, FL for many years...would love to see that course added.

I'd love to see my own city in it, Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg :D

I haven't checked the thread for Vegas yet, but I think they could do well for a comeback here. And it's an excuse for them to drop by and party.

It shouldn't be too hard to make up a compelling circuit here, lots of weird roads around.

The two lane road and the two roundabouts at the ends that surround Mcdonald's in Hedge End, seems to be the chosen track amongst the local Barry Boys in chavved up Corsa's/106's/Clio's :sly:
Yup, plenty of Chavs in this town...I hear them racing most evenings...

I think they should include Minas Tirith in GT6.

I don't care what city a fictional circuit is based in, so long as the track design is good.

PD have focused too much on including landmarks in their city circuits just for the sake of including landmarks, and it compromises the quality of the tracks, in my opinion.
