If I push myself and limit to 5:

AC Cobra

Lamborghini Miura

Ford Mustang (Eleanor) - I'm a sucker for this Stang!

and in 3 years add this to make it 6:
Ferrari 288GTO

Just to confirm, is that a Simictar? I've never seen on with racing stripes on it....I have seen the orginal Simmies and they do seem different and rather cool in their own way.

Nope.. It's an AMC Gremlin (X?) With a set of American Racing Torq-Thrusts.

I'm surprised Leonidae likes an American car... :P

EDIT: But.. it's got the nose of an AMX...? Where's Firebird when you need him? :boggled:

It's an AMX with a.... Gremlin rear?
That's quite the WTF car. Might've been a concept.

I'd go for:

Datsun 510, circa 1968-1973.
Beautiful lines, fully independant suspension, and lightweight.

Datsun 240Z
Do I need to explain it? One of the best looking cars to ever come out of Japan. It's got excellent handling and power potential. There's one at the local motorsports club that just kills everyone else when it competes. (That's it below.)
autocross014ee4.jpg

MK1 GTI
A classic. Light, tossable, fun to drive. Easy to find and fix. My brother, and best friend both have one - Although I haven't driven either.
golf4oq6.jpg

1963 Corvette.
With a Fuel Injected 327, and four on the floor. In either Silver, or Black. One of the most beautiful cars of the century. The Fuelie 327 was no slouch - With the optional (and hard to find) mechanical fuel injection, it produced 365 gross horesepower.

TR6
The look. The sound. The open air. One of my favorites to ever come from Britain, I almost bought one a couple years back. It was too far gone to try and fix up.

I'll limit it to five, for now. I could go on for a while, though.

I love the early Alfa Romeo Coupe.
I'm very fond of 510's.
But the ultimate "classic" for me would be a 1972 DeTomaso Pantera.

I'd like:

A Datsun 510

This 1932 Pile of beautifulness:

A 190E (preferably 2.3-16 and with EVOIIs)

And this:

Wait a minute... :dunce: I'd want to own a 327 or 350, to replace the messed up 305.

Wow, I'm surprised to see Mini mentioned so much in this thread. I have my classic Mini (a '75) in the garage slowly getting tended to. So I guess I'm covered on that 'classic' front.

There are plenty of people on the North American Motoring forum that have no issues with driving their classic, US speced, Coopers across the country for shows. The power to weight ratio is quite good on them, the only issue would be mountains.
For me, the issue is not the mountains at all. My Mini has a ton of torque for it's size - it's not standard, but not heavily modified - but rather the problem for me is the engine revs at high speed. It'll move along at 100kph all day without fault, but that is ringing up just about 4000rpm on the tach. So trying to pass something like a truck or a caravan where you might get to 115kph stretches it up towards 5000rpm and nearing top speed (I've seen 130kph in mine though :D). Also, it seems like torture to blast along at 4000rpm for any extended length of time. A 5th ratio would be great please! Well, that's my experience anyway.

As for the (realistic) classic, after thoughts of E-Type Jaguars, 300SL Mercedes-Benzs, original Prince GT-Rs and Toyota 2000GTs had gone, I came up with the previously mentioned Datsun 240Z. They're quite valuable at the moment, and I think they'll only go up in value. I'll have one please. Probably with RB25DET power. 💡

Hands down it would have to be what I find the most beautiful car ever built and the grand daddy of the supercar. The Lamborghini Miura.
Hell...yes. Stick a Countach, 930 Turbo, and F40 next to that, and I'm set.

I'll go with a '81 Toyota MR-2 for now.

We have one of those disassembled in our garage right now. :D

My short list:

1969 Chevy Camaro SS396 blue w/white stripes or white w/blue stripes.
69_cam_RICH.jpg

Camaros just don't get that better looking do they?

1970 Pontiac GTO -- Red
auction39.jpg

I love that nose, you can drive a Camaro through each of those nostrels.

1956 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gulwing:

The most beautiful German car ever. It just is stunning.

1971 Datsun 510 Bluebird:
1971_Datsun_510_2_door_Restored_Front_1.jpg

Probably the best looking Japanese car ever?

1967 Chevy Corvette 427 Stingray:

And there's perfectly nothing wrong with the Gremlin. it might look odd, but it IS light and came with 401ci engine as option. weight distribution might be awkward, but it's nothing that proper suspension modifications can't fix..

I'd have to go with these:

gtowg4.jpg

Ferrari 288 GTO

365-gtb4-day-98.jpg

Ferrari 365 GTB/4 (in yellow!)

bmw004.jpg

BMW 2002 Turbo

g61impala1.jpg

Chevrolet Impala '61

Thorsten_007.jpg

Mercedes Benz 190E EVO

Mercedes Benz 190E EVO II

Plus there's a billion other cars I'd love to own one day but it would take forever to list them all so I'll stop here :D

Well that's good to know, I know New Zealand has mountains but I have no idea of their altitude or what the roads are like driving up and down them. The Rockey Mountains here in the states are quite big and the roads were designed in an era when everyone had 40.0L V8 engines that spit out a million pounds of torque while spewing toxic clouds from the exhaust.

I'm rather jealous though you own a classic Mini.

There isn't anything wrong with it. That variant is prettier than the production models, by far.

given some thought to perhaps what I'd like from Europe or Japan.

Europe was a tough one, but ultimately, I'd want something intermediate (by our standards) and fairly quick, with a straight si...

Then I remembered the one with the big V8.

pic1-1.jpg

Sure, I could get a Jensen or a Facel Vega...but they used Mopar Mills, and I've already got the Charger. The 300SEL 6.3 was the forefather to today's E63s: a four-door luxury musclecar. I had always wondered about punching the engine out to, say, 7.0L and putting a set of Glasspacks and Mopar Ralleyes on it. or just leaving it stock. I imagine they don't cruise like a Musclecar would: the gears are probably taller than your typical Chevelle's.

But what about Japan?

gah, I'm split between two, both Nissans, one rarer than the other. Not too much into the 510, as it looks kinda...pedestrian...and there's another 2-door HT in the range I'd like. Yes, it's rare as hen's teeth, and yes, I'm gona look like a fanboy for saying this....

1972%20KPGC10%20GTR.jpg

Yeah, the KPGC10 GT-R. a bit more muscular compared to the 510, a bit more engine - S20 I6 as opposed to L16 I4 - and a bit more exclusive.

More realistically...

JapaneseFairladyZ1970.jpg

and In Blue. That's not just because of "Wangan Midnight;" I honestly think the 240Z looks best in blue. Modifications? I dunno, this one may stay stock. Or, it could get a bored L28 with twin turbos. ;) No, not as much power as the KPGC10, nor the exclusivity, but I think the 240's lighter, and undeniably sleeker.

No 'Bird?
I LOVE old T'Birds. Specifically 61-63's with 62's being my favorite.
I could see myself in a 58-60 Bird also.
But, I've had a T-Bird. In point of fact, I literally grew up in one, then started driving it. That is the car I wish to have. A different car wouldn't quite be the same.

A Pantera has been a "dream" car of mine since about 1979 when I was 14. Also, besides a Lamborghini Muira, the most exotic car I've ever wanted (Other than some full-sized version of several really cool Hot Wheels I've owned  )

You can't have the Deora... :P

Actually I really dug the "Jack-Rabbit".
I could go for a 1967 Riviera, or Eldo, IRL.
Both are terribly cool.

!! I have one of those somewhere! It's missing a wheel cap though..

It reminds me of the Mustang prototypes for some odd reason. It might be at home in Death Race 2000 though..

Rivieras are beautiful.

I've always liked that Blue one that had the two plastic flaps that opened in the back. I can't think of the name...

I'm talking about the same vintage "Rivy" that Swayze drove in "Road House"
Though I think that was a 65 or 66.
The 67 was the first "Big Riviera"
