What could these pictures mean?

It would be interesting - and as the above post, there is a 'gap' for a Gr. 2 in their naming and numbering scheme.

SuperGT/GT500 would be great, but such an update would need to bring with it a large number of cars to make it anything more than a 1 or 2 make race IMO. It'll just bring back the good old Megane Gr.4 One Makes ;)

First of all, not "everybody" loves them. It's not possible for "everybody" to love them.
Secondly, I didn't say there was anything wrong with the Japanese car culture. What I said was I don't like it being forced down my throat. It's a waste of a new car when all they do is release a different version of a car that's already in the game otherwise they might as well call it gran turismo GTR.

If you don't get my point that I originally made them there really is no point replying. I didn't say don't have the car in the game. I said give the ability to remodel aman existing car. They did it in a previous version by allowing you to upgrade your car to a racing version.
Well maybe not all but the majority & especially older gran turismo fans!

The majority loves them, SuperGT cars have been in the game since GT1 and are the most iconic cars of the series. I'd say you are in the minority that doesn't like them.

What are you on about mate?

It's quite clear to me you don't have a clue about the diffrent GTR versions, I would agree with you if we were talking about the several version of the R34 Skyline like the M-spec, V-spec Nur yes we dont need so many versions. But for you to say that GT500 Nissan GTR car is a just another diffrent version of the GT3 GTR or road going GTR is absolute nonsense you cant even put this versions on the same planet, they have absolutely nothing in common. I will not get into detalis what the differences are, you should google stuff like this before you decide to post on forums.

Well atleast we agree on something.

Older GT fans? I still have my original copy of gt1 that I got three days before the official release so do you mean older fans than that?

Before I post on forums? You know I've been here longer than you don't you? Once again, read my post before you bother replying and open your eyes. This sort of post just makes you look ignorant.

Well then as a long time member it's even more suprising you don't know the diffrent types of racing categories and what versions of the GTR's are in certain categories, For example the GT500 GTR will go in the Gr.2 category which has nothing to do with GR.3 GTR and even less so with the road going GTR. So I find it even more ignorant from you to come in this thread (on which OP has a GT500 version picture) and say we don't need another version of the GTR because in your words we already have all the versions in GTS which is certanlly not the case.

100% agree that GT500 is a different beast compared to GT3 or GTE.More speed, more downforce faster than DTM cars too.
So what you say is true:GT3 is nothing like GT500.

Yes we certanly need another version and that is the SuperGT/GT500 version.

Replace the "need" with "want" and I'll 100% agree with that.

Why not put GT2 cars under Gr2 class?I mean it makes sense -if you add the FIA factor into it-.
GR3 class has GT3-GTE-fiction cars
GR1 class has fiction and LMP1 cars
GR2 could have GT1 and GT2 cars instead of GT500.

@JulesDennis Probably because GTE/GTLM (formerly known as GT2) cars are not much faster than GT3 cars, making it possible make them equal with BOP. We already have a GTE car in the Grp. 3 class too.

As said above, GTE is essentially GT2 under a different name. And as shown by the 911 RSR we can have GTE in Gr. 3
As for GT1 cars, they're really outdated. Here is the pole qualifying time of the Corvette C7.R GT1 in the 2007 12 hours of Sebring: 1min 57.061secs
Source: http://www.crash.net/alms/results/134116/1/qualifying-times-sebring-12-hours
Here's the qualifying pole from a BMW M6 GTLM (Basically GTE which is basically GT2. Confusing stuff) in the 2016 12 hours of Sebring: 1:58.402
Source: http://autoweek.com/sites/default/files/WeatherTech Championship Sebring Qualifying.pdf

That's just a 1-second difference. Worse still is that the Aston Martin DBR9 GT1 qualified a time of 1:58.241. That's just 2/10ths faster than a current GTE car. The final blow is that I didn't look for the final year of GT1 which is 2011 because the mid-2000s is the golden era of GT1. Anything after that had their specs running much closer to GT3 (550-600hp, and 1200-1300kg iirc)
If they're going to add GT1 cars (which I personally doubt), it's going to be in the Gr.3 class

Well if you think that 4 sec per lap in Daytona is not that faster then yes GT3 are not slower.Yet in reality they only reason GT3 cars are kinda close to GTE is because of less downforce.

Well if we can "have" GTE cars against GT3,why not add GT500 and DTM in that class too?

GT1 were again different beasts compared to any GT3/GTE cars.
But they are "dead" -as you said-.You cannot compare GT1 cars with GTE cars simply because they almost a decade older plus they are not the "same" category.
Its like comparing LMP1 cars with DP cars.
Anyway I know that GT1 cars are outdated but still we actually have Gr3 that also are outdated.A good example is the 458 '13 GT3 or the Aston '12 GT3 car.
If it make sense to add GT1 cars into the Gr3,it would also make sense to add GT500 or DTM there too.PD's "BoP' could "easily" make that work.
I would actually find it more interesting if in a Gr2 we could somehow have LMP2 and DP cars.

LMP2s and GT500s actually run very similar times, so they can be coupled to the Gr. 2 category
EDIT: I stand corrected. GT500 is much faster than LMP2...
Lexus GT500: 1:27.825
https://www.motorsport.com/supergt/...awa-takes-pole-as-lexus-dominates-901268/amp/
Ligier LMP2: 1:32.102

Theoretically, with heavy BoP, GT500/DTM can make it into Gr. 3. But their method of construction is actually much closer to prototypes than GT cars. GT1 at least shares a body-in-white with their road going counterparts. Not to metion their times are faster much than GTE in relation to GT1 vs GTE
EDIT:
Lexus GT500: 1:27.825
BMW M6 GT3: 1:37.861
I used the same sources

Good point on the outdated cars though. Theoretically they can add a 2011-spec GT1 car and BoP the hell out of it to get to the Gr. 3 class. Hell, they even have a 2007 Peugot HDi FAP in Gr. 1

My point is that with the way PD "BoP" works, they could add anything to race against anything.
Adding only GT500 into a GR2 category?That means 3 cars:
-Lexus
-Nissan
-Honda
They -in theory- could add DTM in there but in reality they cannot get the licence for DTM cars.
So a class of 3 cars and propably some vision added too? That could work also.Or just keep adding cars into the GR3 class.

Ahh I finally see your point
If they're gonna go add GT500, they'll probably add some PD originals like they did with Gr. 3
I didn't know about the DTM licensing. Interesting

There could be new categories other than Gr4/3/1: Group 2 ok, but Group 300 and Group 500 too, Group A and C (but who'd want them?...), etc.
GT500 cars don't need to be in Gr.2.

I honestly thought they were going to do that anyway frfr.

Tbh, they'll probably loosely make a DTM looking Mercedes and BMW while adding a Subaru, Mitsubishi and Toyota GT500 (in addition to Lexus).

Shoot if you really want to get out there with it, (which I don't doubt PD doing this to expand the class) I can see them making the C7, 911, a random Renault, and a random Peugeot car fit into those classes and giving them a silhouette aero lift. It'd be nuts but it would make it fun imo.. Cause like I said before, not too many people want a class of just 3 cars.
