Started the game today 😎

Just taken the plunge as I'm off work for a few days later in the week, got game pass ultimate for my TV as don't have an xbox.

Runs surprisingly well on there streaming to the tv for a bit of fun doing career mode. Loving being able to drive Kylami 😍

Not sure I'll be able to do much in multiplayer via the cloud streaming though
I tried doing this but ended up really struggling with the latency. It was much worse than when I used to play the Horizons via the browser on my Mac.

My Ginetta G40 dominated the D-class. It's great that we got this from Project Cars!

I will say, I first tried back in March 2023 when I got my new TV, and xbox was unplayable. Especially Forza Horizon.

It's much better now at the 2nd attempt. The graphics are obviously not as good over streaming, but it still looks and plays really well! Half tempted to get an xbox as well now haha

I continued with the open series and started the B-class races yesterday. I chose the Subaru BRZ, wide bodied it and gave it all the handling upgrades. It has just 230 hp, but that's plenty with a weight of just a tad over 1000 kgs and enough grip to tear your face off in the turns. I did the usual suspension tuning (softer front, stiffer back), to eliminate some mild understeer and then it drove like a dream 😍

Completed D-, C-, B- and A-class Open Tours in the all-conquering Ginetta G40 Junior.

It's a shame it reached level 50 so quickly or I'd use it every month.

I tried the 2017 Holden Walkinshaw VF Commodore in S-class but it's not as good. If I have time I'll see if I can get better times in the other Ginetta (G55) despite its worse stats than the Holden.

Finished the 15 laps at Daytona today to get the hybrid BMW. Not going to be playing the BMW Tour much for the next couple of weeks, but will get the McLaren P1 15 laps done next time i'm playing.

Did the first of the BMW tours in the 635, and unexpectedly wound up in an almost Group A touring car revival series. The only car missing from the roster seemed to be the R32 GTR but that's probably for the best, but what a fantastic car and series of races! Even if the fog at Spa was a bit much...

Also tried picking a left-field choice for the A Class tour in the Pontiac Trans Am WS6. Tuned it up the the max points, drove two practice laps with it and sold it in disgust.

I drove the 635 as well and for a near stock car it drove really well. Ironically I started watching Black Doves on Netflix at the same time and the main character drove exactly that same 6 series BMW.

I ended up using a 1998 Mercedes AMG CLK GTR (OBE TTFN WWJD etc) which was fast and had great lateral grip stats but was kinda squirrelly when straightening up after corners.

The McLaren P1 I won in Rivals is maxed out so I did R-class in a '93 McLaren F1. This was a little more sure-footed than the CLK GTR on the straights but the car seemed to forget it had ABS as I discovered when I tried to break for the hairpin at Hockenheimring; the turn felt stiffer than an excited bridegroom on his wedding night.

The #1 BMW 3.0 CSL I won had nice livery but otherwise it didn't feel like anything very special. Judging by the way the AI were matching my turns despite having a lower PI, I'm not even sure it's the best 3.0 CSL in the game.

Bought the BMW M8 GTE for the next tour (on the basis that it's the more powerful of the two) and, erm, it's crap. Low speed grip at the rear is woeful, turn-in isn't great, the power band seems to be about 500RPM wide (and feels, I dunno, flat somehow) and I just cannot get along with it somehow. Hopefully I can find a bearable setup for it, or maybe the M6 GTLM is better...

Finished the BMW series. Ran the first race at Sebring of the Endurance tour at level 5 and got beat. Made it to 4th place and never closed on the leaders. Decided I wasn't going to mess around with this and dropped down to level 4 for the remainder of the races and it's a good thing I did. Won LeMans easily, Silverstone barely and got lucky to finish 3rd at Laguna Seca. While all of the other classes seemed to have reduced AI strength, P class is still very strong.

Bumped back up to level 5 for the M4 GT3 rewards race and won it pretty easily.

I've only done the first race, level 5 and started in 17th using the #16 BMW and past 1st on the last corner with a lap to spare. Having said that, I pass 7-8 cars before the first corner so that helps - you're right though, the AI is inconsistent series to series.

Why is there about 40k credits difference between the two BMW's but they have the same PI number? And it says available cars "4" but the same two cars are listed twice, once for BMW and once for featured I think.

The V12 LMR isn't a car I've ran a lot in any racing game so this was a relatively new experience. I thought it was interesting that they chose mainly clockwise layout tracks but you have that mirror on a stalk in front of you in cockpit view so it made those right hand turns a little difficult to see. But I was glad they used real world circuits for these last two tours.
