What did you do in FM23 today?

I haven't been playing much at all for reasons, and I'm not really into this months prizes anyway so I was steering clear. But, I had a few minutes today and decided, WTH, let's try these big saloon cars out. Took the Jag, and am happy I did. Needs a transmission as the final drive is stupid (couldn't find the actual final drive for the XF-R but it's 3.42:1 for the XE S, which worked nicely. Rest of the gear ratios were in fact correct, except 5th being off by .01), and it's a touch heavier than IRL, but once that's sorted it's a peach. Also moved the brake balance to help a bit with turn-in but other than that I'm just going to drive it stock. It's way down on the Caddy but with the nature of the AI I've long since decided to just drive what I want and let the difficulty slider sort out the rest.

I used the same car for this series. I was hoping they would allow the cars to be upgraded to A class. Instead of being stuck at B 550 for the duration of the series. I am going to run some Free Play races with this car after I complete all the races from the new update.

I did the first events of the two new Career series. Nice to see the practice requirement has dropped to 1 lap in the Open Series. I did the 10 Clean laps in Rivals to get the Revuelto and managed a 15000 score in the Drift Rivals event to get the Forsberg Datsun.

Vroom vroom... it's Velocity month and to paraphrase noted Queens, NYC philosopher Benjamin Franklin Parker*: "Remember, Peter... with great speed comes massive pileups", so I reluctantly had to turn twitch steering off to prevent my newly-bought Lambo SC63 doing an Olga Korbut impression every time I unconsciously countersteered to correct my cornering.

I can hear @Nacho Libre's voice ringing in my ears even now for temporarily switching to granny-level SUV normal steering for this tour.

Regrettably the only shared livery I could stand to look at had the car's marque "amusingly" misspelt as "Lam-bro-ghini":

However, equipping the grippiest tune I could find enabled me to hang on for a win. I don't race multiplayer but I bet this class is all kinds of "fun" for those in the lower skill divisions. Perhaps today is a good day to die.

Note that tyre wear has been dialled up to 4.0× for this event although, even on spongy softs, by the time I was running on rims the race was over thanks to the short lap count. Whew.

Slogging through the Open Class tour is one of my least favourite parts of "Chores Of Motorsport" each month so like others I try to do a couple of events each week to spread out the tedium.

After laboriously checking the stats of all one hundred available D-class cars the only vehicles with handling to compare to the 1990 MX-5 Miata seem to be other MX-5s.

The 2013 model seems to have done the trick this month but I'm not looking forward to running out of Mazdas to keep competing and winning CP. When it happens I'll probably check out something German like a Porsche 911 or VW Golf if there are any available in the class.

The RX-8 is quite dominating in D even in stock form. I would make a scary B or C build too.

Completed Open Class tour up to S class then ran my tenth clean lap around Catalunya in a rented Revuelto. Tuned the resulting prize Revuelto to the top of its class so I can win the Evora from R class open.

I think my RX-8 is already at level 50. I definitely want to check out the 1992 Honda NSX-R in B and A class though.

I would like to see them give you a reason to keep driving cars past level 50. I know once I get something to 50 I very rarely use it again. Maybe increase the payouts it earns. Credits x1.25 or x1.50, something like that.
