This was the most painful purchase I had...

Bought all the new cars, did the weeklies in one go (please remove rally from the weeklies or actually the entire game while we’re at it…) and did the two cr.1.000.000 races.

Been doing custom races the whole afternoon at 500PP, 550PP and 600PP street cars, street tires only on Deep Forest, Grand Valley, Trial Mountain, Dragon Trail Seaside and Kyoto Yamayigwa while listening to GT2’s whole soundtrack at full blast.

Yeah, just a nostalgic afternoon 😊😊

(Forgot to add, just needed Apricot Hill and Autumn Ring and it would be perfect)

I opened my eyes and realized a great use of the "Quick Race" function. All of the cars in my garage that really are never used for normal racing or that just do not fit the parameters of many races, I just get one, and jump in a quick race. I try to run them stock if possible, if I cannot I will put better tyres on and a new transmission if the stock gearing is not good enough..

It's a great way to make use of lesser-used cars indeed. Shame about the payouts though.

Tried the Nür X2019 event.
Dont like the car as it feels to "need for speedy" for my taste.
With some 13m14s I was about 1 second behind P1 finishing on P3 in quite some close call.

Could do better if I tried again and again, but that is not fun, it is hard work without health insurance ...

Finished the weekly challenges. Used the Tomahawk X for the Circuit de la Sarthe race. Couldn't keep up using the R8 nor the 919. Don't know how many horses 🐎 the AI cars had or what tuning setup they were using but it weren't good 😂

Btw, for those of you who could afford the W196R, was the 20 million worth it?

The W196R is absolutely worth it! Leave it stock, it’s great as is. Need a permanent single player race (championship) filled with these. I bought two, one to keep original and one to paint. 😁

I finished the WC then since I was at about 14 million credits I decided to see what I could sell to get to 20 million to maybe buy the Merc. I got 500k from 4 ⭐ 🎫 for the daily marathon. I sold one of my Ford Mark IVs for a little over 4 million then I also sold one of Toyota GTone's for 1.5 million. Then I went to Hagerty's and proceeded to buy the Merc. I got a little bit upset because I had been saving for the 330 and I actually saw it in Hagerty's so I kinda wish I bought it instead of the Merc. Oh well. I painted the Merc green then I took it for a spin. It took for a spin at LeMans so i decided to change my tactics and actually brake sooner. That seemed to help but I need to play around with it more.

Seriously, though - that's a tough choice, and I kind of hate it when they put two 20M cars in the LCD at the same time. If I was in your position I probably would have done the same - the 330 P4 is gorgeous, but it's been in the game since GT Sport and I wasn't in a massive rush to get it; the Merc is also top of my current shopping list

I have had plenty of chances to get 330 TBH. I will get it eventually it probably be my next 20 million car. Unless the other Merc shows up when I have the money 🤣

Well today quickly hopped on to try the new daily races. Race B was chatoic and I choose the wrong car (Genesis VGT) but Race C was very cool at lemans no chicane. Did pretty well got 5th. I kinda fumbled my last lap or cuda been 2nd for sure. FORD GT LM is a great car, pit strategy and tyre wear play a bit part, but it almost feels as though the two race should have been swapped around.

GR1 at lemans and Gr3 at High speed ring. ODD but yeh. Good fun!

Ran the weekly challenge at Sarthe. Stunning event. Nighttime Mulsanne in a shower of sparks from the Sauber ahead was a new experience, and a freaking awesome one at that. And that's on a lowly PS4Pro...that must be AMAZING on the 5Pro.

Also made me realize just how far headlight technology has come since the pre-2K's. Unlit parts of the track would be terrifying without a <Reset> button. Might as well be candles behind glass up there.🤣

Pretty sure I'm gonna be completing that challenge again and again and again.....😁

I don't know if I'll have time to do anything today in particular, but my next orders of business are as follows:

1. Since I've already completed two of the weekly challenges, I think I'll at least do one more to get the next prize - specifically, the WTC 600 round at the Catalunya Rallycross layout, using my trusty 2JZ-swapped GR Yaris. I'll see if I can get to the last two rounds after that, too, featuring the Porsche Cup and the Special Event involving Group C racers, but I mostly just want to tackle that rallycross round.

2. I'll also see where I stand for the online time trial featuring the Porsche Mission X at RBR, as I think I can still improve my time. On my last attempt, I ended up 2.96% off the top - barely into gold range, so even if that's still the case, I'd like to improve my standing.

3. Still gotta check out those two special races that tie into the GTWS finals. Seems like tire/fuel isn't enabled so I'll just put on some Racing Softs for each one and go nuts. It especially seems like the Manufacturers Cup race is best with the 2020-spec AMG GT3.

4. Funny enough, the last trophy I've yet to earn is just the one for taking a hundred photos, but I only want to take each shot "sincerely," if that makes sense. I mean, as opposed to just spamming the "take photo" button on the same setup. I think I'm up to 66 shots, too, even if I've had to discard a number of them that don't meet my expectations. I often enjoy taking replays of especially interesting races or time trials that I've done, and waiting for a solid shot as I watch them. I only occasionally go into scapes, as I believe a car's place is on the track - or at least, the ones featured in this game, haha! Yes, even the Hi-Ace, even as stock. (Now if they were to add the town of Mystic, CT as a scape location? That's another story...)

As reported above, highly recommend a run around Sarthe.👍

I took the R92 since I was comfy in it from Race B. If you want to have some real fun, throw the bonus turbo on there + race trans and start messing with gearing. Just by running minimum downforce, the added turbo and changing the final drive on the trans to 3.00, I was able to catch P1 by the end of L1. 270+ will do that.🤣

Sorry, geekin' a bit, that's a fun race.😁

Today I bought an extra unit of a Ford Roadster 1932 and installed a spare Voodoo engine I had in my virtual garage.

This swapp is (for me, personally) one of those cases where the swapped engine is kind of too much for the receiver vehicle. Sure, there are lots of tuners who can work their magic and tame those super powered cars when fully tuned, but for me it all feels somehow artificial. Props and hats off for those who can tune anything.

The swapped Roadster works better (again, it is a personal opinion) when detuned to something around 300 hp. The car is a blast to drive like that, it feels fast enough and composed on sport hard tyres.

A faster car doesn't always translate to a better drive.

It is then another car added to my favorite cars' tab, which I like to consider as my real garage.

I extended my Group C collection with another Jaguar and 2 new Nissans. Since they were added to the LCD I bought 3 Nissans, 2 Jaguars, one Sauber and 6 Porsches. Hoping to add at least one of each before they leave. I love these cars and all their beautiful liveries :)

Did the time trial with the Mission X on the Red Bull Ring and drove my modified Ferrari 308 GTB around Grand Valley.

On the GTP account, I dove into the new races:
  • Laguna Seca Porsche Cup in 8:01 (by 10.1 seconds over the pole-sitting Serrano in his 911 Turbo S) with a stock Porsche 911 Turbo S
  • Mount Panorama Race of Turbo Sports Cars in 12:12 (by 5.3 seconds over a fast Maserati MC20 that started 11th) with a stock McLaren MP4-12C (after hundreds of miles of failure)
  • Grand Valley Jimny Cuo in 5:00 (by 1.1 seconds) with a Suzuki Jimny XC tuned to 368 PP
That netted me a 3-star Wheel of Despair puking out the 2nd-loow-showing/lowest-legal 5,000 Cr. As it was Thursday by the time I got to it, I continued the Weekly Challenges:
  • Tokyo Japanese Clubman Cup in 7:24 with a stock Nissan R32 GT-R V-spec II
  • Catalunya WTC 600 in an unclean 5:13 with a 2017 Nissan GT-R stock other than dirt tires
  • Lake Maggiore Porsche Cup in 11:04 with a 2009 Porsche 911 tuned to 650 PP
  • Sarthe Special Event in an unclean 16:14 with a Porsche 962 C on RS tires and low downforce (after hundreds of miles of failure)
Speaking of failure, the Friday 3-star ticket wasn't a Wheel of Despair, as it gave the high-showing (and 2nd-highest possible) 100,000 Cr.

I bought the W 196 R today.

I had to sell a few cars to reach 20,000,000 Cr. including 2 of my 3 Ferrari FXX Ks, and a Toyota GT-One.

At first I wasn't too bothered about having the W 196 R, but now I can honestly say that I did give two FXX Ks for it.
