I posted this on another forum, and people were calling it a poverty bike. Is it that ugly? Usually you guys are honest...so...what do you guys think? You don't have to know a lot about bikes...but how does it look?

The bike itself isn't ugly at all 👍 But it definitely needs washing and cleaning, maybe that's why it's being called a "poverty bike" :dopey:

Who cares about the bike, its the rider that counts. The capability of most dirtbikes built since the invention of the monoshock far outstrip the limits of the rider unless you are top tier competitions. This is even more so if you are riding in bush trails and not on purpose built motocross tracks since you need to be able to look ahead and judge the situation quickly as you rarely know the track off by heart.

Back in the 2000's I used to ride this old 1990 CR80 with me dressed in flannel and jeans (parents and I never had much money) and some guys would turn up on the latest and greatest all decked out in the gear and laugh when they saw me. The fun part was the type of guys who care about shiny bikes and who put others down for not having the best equipment arn't very good riders, so very quickly I was the one laughing as my old POS riden by a farmer look a like was quickly disappearing into the distance and making them look very silly indeed :D.

Don't be too worried what others think of your bike mate, its all about what you think and how much fun you have 👍

Wow nice post, that was a great read. Get back on a bike soon bro:)

The bikes I normally ride require my to pedal 'em, but I'm liking that bike man. Big fan of the green/dirt colour combo, it kinda gives a used look 👍

What do you guys think of my bike? :sly:

Chose it yesterday, fresh off the production line and best of all, it's not costing me a penny.

Whatever blue that is, I love it man

Lovely blue bike picture next to a tired, red one that looks strangely electric and is pointless in a mountainous city

.... You're in a city. That is all concrete. When are you ever going to go off-road? Oh wait, its full of mountains, your city.

Hm, I guess I answered my question there.

Oh, keep an ear out in case the Shanghai bike rule is taking effect (motorcycles required a blue licence plate, gas stations won't fuel them up anymore).

What is it? Looks good man.

It's a Tornado copy. Basically the same bike but made in my step mothers factory instead of by the rightful makers. :)

Hm, I guess I answered my question there.

The roads here can be pretty rough, plus I may be in line to get a commission for project managing a new dirt track that will be built for an exposition that my dad is doing the marketing for. Score!

I did hear that they're cutting down the amount of bikes on the roads here in China. Most big cities will ban them outright in favour of bicycles but CQ is so mountainous they won't do it here.

That looks really nice Shem! :) Single cylinder?

So I'll take part in this thread, sort of:

What do you guys think of my dream bike? :sly:

It is my lifetime goal to build that, with a CBX 1000 inline-6 engine:

Upon close examination, I visually dissected the various parts and equipment. I was able to decide that yes, it has two wheels, and therefore it is a bike.

Congratulations.

Oh man, that bike is so poverty, I saw it down at McDonalds picking scraps out of the dumpster for supper.

It looks like you found it on the sidewalk begging for change from people walking by.

It probably gets its gas from the food bank, and sleeps at the homeless shelter at night.

...

I actually have no clue what I'm talking about. Enjoy it, its yours, don't worry about what other people think of it, you'll never enjoy life that way.
