My brother and I are Custom Painters and here is our latest project, a 2004 GSXR-750. Everything is painted, no stickers.

you tell the story as if it was black and white.
Yeah you're right on this but that was in order to be as clear as possible.
Then you say that I can't make some stuff with a bike that I can do in a car, and you're absolutely right ! That's exactly what I say. Cars and bikes give different pleausres. And so, when you say driving is driving, you're contradicting yourself.

I want to add that I actually respect your opinion, but I think that as a speed addict you're missing something.

PS: I appreciated the few words in french, and i wish i was able to do the same in german, but the fact is that i only learnt english, spanish, and a bit of japanese by myself ! lol

HOLY CRAP !... That is awesome work !... How would you like to paint a ZX7RR from 1992 in Muzzy colors ?... And what would it cost ?...

DAMN !....

Fantastic pic Jake. The barbed-wire/countryside is giving me Great Escape vibes…:D

ride this one once in a while.... it's one of our fleet bikes.... '06 Buell XB12R Firebolt

don't have my own bike as yet though, still looking at my options on what bike to buy....

I have a 1979 Yamaha XS11. It's in the shop getting a complete restoration. When it's done, I'll post pics. Previous to that, I had a 1975 Honda Gold Wing which was a cafe racer, rather than a touring bike. As you can tell, I like them old.

Whats up with the brake discs? they are very thin?

I have a duel front wavy disc setup on my ride :P But then again their cable brakes so I geuss I need em lol.

Have you looked closely at the brakedisc ?... It's an perimeter job and it is trick as h3ll... Buell has used them extensively - I'm not really sure they carry an advantage over a regular setup, but it looks soooo sweet - a matter of form over function methinks....

a matter of form over function methinks....
Most likely, as I've yet to see this setup on a GP bike. Not that the rotor attached to the rim looks more trick than a pair of carbon rotors and monoblock calipers.

They do stop rather quickly, but I’m still yet to be convinced they are any better or worse than the norm. They do the job quite satisfactorily though, even in hard breaking situations...

It does look cool however, Buell has a lot of different thoughts of design to the norm, some good and some not so... Love how compact the exhaust is, however it does get a tad hot around the ankles when sitting at the lights. The electric fan (to help the oil cool) that switches on is really annoying though...

I have a twin brake setup :P stops a treat! the braking is incredible especially with wavy discs :D But my brakes are cable ones and not hydrolic :(

So that bike must throw you over the front!

The perimiter disc brakes on the buell dont have much benifit in the way of stopping power (they stop just as well as normal setups). But the advantage is that having 1 disc, without the need for a central mounting hub, can make the front wheel much lighter.

This makes the bike easier to turn, and makes the suspension react better with less -unsprung- wieght.

A Brodie Romax. (Ducks and runs for cover...)

I actually don't have any decent pictures of my personal Romax, I don't think

The danger factor does not really concern me. I am not ignorant or naive when it comes to bikes. I am not overconfident of my riding ability, and I am cautious. Also, I mentioned that I 'have the ability to receive the ground well' as they would say in Japanese meaning I can take a fall and have been for years.

Are you trying to tell me that because you know how to brace yourself for hitting the mat after getting kicked in the neck, that you are more prepared, and less suceptible to injury during a motorcylce accident?!
Laughable!

Actually, my meaning was that I know to/ and am able to keep myself relaxed before impact, (this helps!), and who said we use mats? I also know how to reposition my body in midair so that it lands in a position more advantageous, and less dangerous to myself.

I think your statement shows your ignorance of the subject. By 'bracing myself', as you said, I actually increase my chances of injury.

I don't ride in real life and probably never will. If the driver in TT can be injured my driver would've been dead countless times. lol.

Unless its a minor fall.. nothing is going to help you if you hit a guardrail at 45 mph. Nothing.

Beleave me, i know.

Goldwing...A cafe racer?!...wuh?

I got that reaction all the time. People forget that the original Goldwings, 1975 to 1977, were meant as sportsbikes, not tourers. They just happened to be fantastic as tourers, too. Mine was a '75, and it had a Corbin Gunfighter solo seat and rear set pegs. There was a lot of other minor custom work done to it as well. The only thing was that it still had the tall Goldwing bars on it. I was set to install some clubman bars on it, but then I sold it. I was stupid. I should have kept it. It was big and comfortable and a little worn out, just like me.

You guys are fantastic at stating the obvious, please carry on. Yes, of course, I realize that I can't pass through matter and that I will splat upon it like a fly on a windshield; however, what if I were to be cut off and go over the hood of a car, which is not uncommon? Would my years of practicing taking a fall and my ability to relax not be of some benefit? Just a little bit of benefit? That is the point I am trying to make. How many people hurt themselves walking and slipping on a patch of ice? If they knew how to relax and take a fall would that be beneficial to them? Why can't it be of benefit in a minor crash or fall to me? How mahy NFL quarterbacks blow out their elbow because they try to stop their fall with their arms extended? Would the ability to relax and take a fall not help them? Of course, it would.

But, as we can all agree, once you pass a certain speed, it won't help enough. (I can just use all the help I can get.)

Got rid of the gixxer a while back and got a Daytona 600.

Loved it to bits and got on great, but just sold it to make way for a Daytona 675.

I pick it up this week. Ooof!

You're a lucky man KurtisGSXRn I love the new 675 Daytona !

I complety agree your opiion ! And for example, MotoGP riders are really prepared to fall, and I actually think that it is why Shinia Nakano survived after a fall at more than 300 km/h (about 200 mph).

The consequences of a fall depends on how you fall (losing the front or doing a high-side is not the same at all), of course on what there's around, and of you ! If you're prepared, you'll be able to do the minium which can save you, because you won't live it as a drama and so you won't be in a state of shock.
