What do you want to see in a Special Edition GT5?

I really hope there's going to be only one edition. I'm sick of special editions.

I don't mind them as long as they don't give the people who buy them an advantage in competitive multiplayer, like extra cars or something. But if it's stuff like artbooks or making-of videos, I think it's just cool extras for a devoted fan of the series.

And by the way, I had to make 2 posts at the beginning because I use my iPod Touch for this stuff, and I couldn't scroll down far enough in the text box to edit the post.

^I doubt they'll be that generous when it comes to DLC, well perhaps small things like added song tracks and little add-ons here and there.

Wish list for GT5 SE:

automobile sticker
GT keychain
skip barber training manual
access to all future DLC
voucher for GT1, GT2 on ps store
gt series documentary on bluray
exclusive GT5:SE car (in game)
KY's ghost replay data preloaded

All inside a nifty tin toolbox. ohh the possibilities..

I reckon there should be three editions.

1) The bare-bones edition, for people who just want to play the game at the standard price for PS3 games. Should have a Ferrari (enzo/FXX/599) on the cover.

2) The second edition should feature a 'making of' dvd showing fans what the GT5 team have been getting up to. Some kind of GT5 book listing all the tracks with breaking and turning points for each track, throw in a keyring and/or a flash drive. Cover car would be Lamborghini (or Porsche if it's in there)

3) This would be the Pièce de résistance of the three. It would feature;
-Special tin version of the game with Bugatti Veyron artwork
-Additional car(s) (ie a special Polyphony tuned Lambo, Ferrari etc with unique livery)
-Production book with development photos & track layouts for the real courses featured in the game, complete with breaking and turning points.
-Making of DVD/Blu-Ray
-Keying/USB drive
-Special Gran Turismo 5 edition Logitech G27 Wheel

I ask you, what more could you want? Apart from a free car of course... :sly:

And does anyone else prefer tin special editions to paper sleeves that usually deteriorate or get squashed easily?

When I think of Special eddition.
I would like...
- Aluminum or Metal hard box Signed by Kazunori Yamauchi in the front or back, and entire Polyphony Digital team in the back of the hard box and inside the hard box. (I bet they will be copied and printed, but I dont care, it will look cool)

- Credits for future DLC ( about 10 dollars worth)

- When racing online, Your name appears in RED or Different color to indicate you have the Special Limited Edition, meaning you are a Hardcore GT Fan.

- I do not want in Special Limited Edition any extra in game credits when you start the game, or cars. I want to start from the very basis.

- 2nd Blu-Ray disc to have behind the scenes videos, pictures and videos. (Pictures created by PD team using Photo mode that you can save to your HDD and Print)

- 2 GT Posters ( 1 Poster with GT Logo, Other poster to represent the game with all the car manufacturers logos found in game, some event logos, some track layouts)

- Gran Turismo Baseball Cap ( Curved cap not the dumb looking FLAT ONES!)

- Gran Turismo Stickers

- Exclusive and Alternative look for My Garage Look (both for online and offline)

- Some Other Suprise from Polyphony Digital Team.

This should be the ULTIMATE edition of the game, Cost .. I wont care even if it's 200 Dollars, I would buy it. I've been collecting and saving some money since Last year Summer for Gran Turimso...

No offense, but what on earth would you do with all that crap!? :boggled: I'm buying GT5 because I want to play the game, not because I want stickers and a baseball cap! ;)

Some people like to have that crap, for me I like to collect cool stuff..
So For me I would buy 2 of the Boxes, one to open, one to never open. If you don't want it, just buy the Standard version and play.

HAHA, Kaz or the Translator guy with little GT5 shirts and caps on!

Abracadabra!

If there is a special edition of GT5, I would prefer it if it would come with physical extras, rather than in-game content. Some things I would like:

  • Full length "making of" Blu Ray
  • A book featuring details on cars, circuits, driving tips and more
  • Physical A-S licenses
  • Lanyard
  • Posters
  • Stickers
  • Replica KY translator note pad
  • A guide on disabling car reverse lights

Book is good idea

Replica and that guide on lights.. I lolD!

Future DLC Free.
A cool box.
A behind the scenes blu ray.
A book featuring details on cars, circuits, driving tips and more. (Pretty good idea jackinton :sly:)

Has anybody got any of the Limited Edition releases of the older titles?

If they did go down the special edition route with GT5 i'd like to see some sort of book and a second disc with some of that plentiful footage they've shot from around the globe!

A special picture of Kaz giving Dan Greenwaldt a wedgie with Kaz's signature on the picture.

It's funny but Kaz its not like that. For him he respects every other game.. He sees no enemies..

Maybe Dan would be like that..

Making of is a definite must. GT5 has been by far the most anticipated GT game yet and it is a very defining and epic release in the history of Gran Turismo and Playstation (specifically PS3). I would be disappointed if they didn't make a making of.
