What does everyone here do for work?

Lot attendant at a dealership. I move porshas and audis and lambojinis and bentlys. Oh and I'm 16. How I got my job I don't know. Maybe I'm just so jdm.

Soon to be unemployed when my visa runs out on Wednesday. Also means I have to leave the country to get a new one, if they give me a new one!

Shame you couldn't have rescheduled your trip to Thailand. Could've killed two birds with one stone. I hear it's quite easy to get a work visa in China. A German friend of mine was staying at a hostel in Shanghai. The hostel had a bar and he was talking to the barman. He said he found a few jobs he would like to do and wished he'd applied for a work visa.

The bartender told him to meet him at 1pm the next day in the lobby. They went for a walk and soon his passport was stamped and he was given a work Visa. As you're an English teacher, I don't think you'll have many problems.

So you move those cars and work around them, but you don't know how to spell Porsche, Lamborghini and Bentley?

If I told you, I'd have to kill you.

DAADDY!!!? (kid goes running to his father) "He said he's going to kill me!." :P

Anyway, me? Job? Pffft, who are you kidding. I managed to cut my arm when hammering! How would I get a job?

Working in a Coldstore Warehouse, some sort of Inventory Manager but now all I do is helping the boss with some stuff.

Quite a diverse range here 👍

You could get a job supervising or teaching the art of using a Hammer for sure then!

That... Is... Absolutely BRILLIANT!!! I can be the Dummy who shows how not to do it. And the one that shows how to react properly. AKA, saying, "I wonder if that will bleed?" And then carrying on.

Ah, the Hong Kong visa run.

Which now is no-longer available apparently.

Get a tourist visa asap, then change it to a work visa. That way, you'll still be able to work as you're still allowed in the country I guess.

Also, as you have a good record for living and working there, you should be fine to get it renewed.

Chinese officials always get something slightly wrong at first... Heard of a dude who was there for 10 years and his paperwork ALWAYS had some problems with it, every year.

Me?

Well, interesting job history actually but can't be bothered to recall it.

Currently working as a swimming teacher for the time being. Its relatively easy work for me as I enjoy it a lot and have a good memory for it. Parents and managers are the hardest bit of it at times. One thing I don't get with parents is their expectations for their child to progress as fast as possible through the learning scheme. Which just doesn't happen if they're not interested, not able to learn quickly (due to age) or just want to have fun all the time.

Still, its relatively fun!

Wondering for my next step really.

I've been told I only have to drop by the local visa office and don't even have to leave the province! Sweet.

Only problem is that work have my passport, the visa is up in 2 days and they haven't contacted me yet about going to renew it since last week when I missed my appointment because of a hangover!

I work as an unemployed person.

Quite the rewarding experience!

The hours are good, the atmosphere is enjoyable, the pay is undesirable, but that's really the only con! :D

Isn't it possible to organise it with the company yourself? As in, you ask them to get organised for you?

I am sure the government won't be too fussed about a couple of days delay though. I hope.

The company are sorting it for me but I need to go with them with the application.

£500 fine for an overdue visa. :scared:

Lots of IT people in here... :)

I'm a supervisor at one of the top debt collectors in the US. Most people hate me just for that.

*Bracing myself* :scared:

I'm a full-time college student (majoring in Bass Trombone and Euphonium Performance), and this is my freshman year so I've got a ways to go. :scared:

I did apply for some part-time jobs to get me a bit of extra dough over the summer, though. I'm looking at the local hobby shop (they need train specialists, a position I can fill nicely) and GameStop. We'll see how those turn out.

Also, some of the instrumental groups I'm in at college do paid gigs on occasion, so you could consider that a job of sorts.

If I told you, I'd have to kill you.

No, you'd just bore us to death.

Fortunately for you, allowance paid by your parents for trash duty and dishwashing means you're exempt from filling out a 1040 form.

£500 smackers?

That's a bribe for them to do it for you past your visa date.

Not a fine.

;)

God, that's pretty steep.

If I stay past my visa expiration date in Japan, I get detained (Which carries a charge per diem) with no contact with the outside world until they see fit to put me on a plane. Then it's followed up with a 10 year ban. :scared:

Currently, Student, and Stock associate at Kmart. Soon, im HOPING *knock on wood* to get a work study at a community center for at risk youth. THEN when im done with school i HOPE to use my degree in german and german business to work for a German car Company (hopefully Porsche, but i would be happy with any!)
