What have you done to your car today?

There's cars out there with intake manifolds that look like that? Exhaust. There's no point changing my intake mani until my car is a LOT more modified, and I'm not that keen on losing midrange for a bit more top end power at this stage.

Next up, getting the fuel pump in and the powerfc in and tuned. Once the wallet recovers somewhat.

maybe? i dont know what the engines looks like for every car out there

Haha that sounded way more arrogant than I wanted, didn't mean for it to come through like that. For most injected engines, the intake manifold will have some sort of plenum that's going to have runners off it connecting to the head. The intake and exhaust manifolds don't really look similar, and it's not a car specific thing.

Something like this:

Good thing that tune works for intakes... I've heard intakes are the most finicky part for the DISI 2.3.

Still, Mazda are into the whole "gram strategy" thing and I've probably saved 50 grams today

Methinks this is what you really want to do.

And note... it's time to start dieting. :D

Mhmmm... resonance intake tuning... if I ever find myself with a whole bunch of extra time and a free machine shop... :D

Cosmetic touch ups - Euro look inspired mods to clean the rear up. Really happy with the results :D

After:

I used red tint spray for the orange-ish indicators and reverse lights, filled in the key hole for the boot and also got someone to change the exhaust tip for me. I also bought a blanking plate so i could remove the wiper but i decided to keep it...

Got bested by a Civic :dunce: Just kidding! Nice driving, Eric.

Interesting seeing you there today. I was standing behind you car during your late as hell tech  when I noticed the GTP sticker, thought that Civic looked familiar. Once I saw the "Track Days" shirt I knew it had to be you from this site.

Results have been posted if you didn't already look. Last in class!

Installed my Steeda sport lowering springs on the 'Stang. What a day and night difference combined with the Steeda strut tower brace I have!

Yes it is, and yes it is.

From left to right there is:

Top: Exhaust cam (rear bank), supercharger, exhaust cam (front bank)
Middle: PAS, idler pulley, water pump, idler pulley, alternator
Bottom: Crank, vacuum generator, A/C

Physically the engine isn't as wide or as tall as feared, though it's pretty big considering it's the same block. There may be a hammer required (to the engine bay, that is). The engine mounts are pretty funky too - one will require a custom bracket. We've also got three gearboxes on the floor - the auto off the Miller, the 5-speed manual off the K8 (G25M) and a 5-speed manual off a KL (G25M-R) - the latter will be going onto the Miller.

Venari's gone to town a bit and has included in with his Cougar/Corvette parts shipment, a Mazda K-series clutch rated to 350lbft and a set of Tokico/Ford Racing struts for the US-market Escort ZX2 which uses suspension based on the MX-3 (the only car that shares this). There's also scope for some brake fun - he's acquired some parts from a nice nutter by the name of Will Riley...

Oh, also, http://www.mazdamiller.com (occasional crudities inside - no, not raw vegetables)

Awesome project!! :D Also, nice to know that my ZX2 has suspension brother from Japan/UK. Great driving cars! :) Good luck and stuff that bad boy in there!! :D --- Randy

"Late as hell tech"? That almost sounds like a compliment. That was totally like an hour past when tech ended. April is my hero. As I suggested on FB, I think you should put yourself in whatever class Miatas are classed in as stock, if it still can be. Depends on your wheel/tire size, you might not be eligible anymore.

If I'm doing the math right, you'd have placed third in Street Tire Open running TES as your class.

Step 1 of project de-uglify engine bay. One of the studs broke off within the thread, and we went through 4 drill bits trying to get it out after welding didn't work. So we just gave up, hopefully it wont leak too much until I can afford to get someone to sort it out.

Past few days

My truck - drew some graphics in the dirt

Friend's truck - We painted his wheels flat black and his toolbox gloss black (toobox isn't pictured, it was off before the before pic and wasn't dry till after the after pic)

Changed the recovery tank on my '99 Sable, and good thing I did, the OEM one had a major crack in it and was ready to give out at any time. I also drained the radiator and managed to break the plastic drain valve, luckily a new one is only $4. Tomorrow includes flushing out what I can out of the block (the antifreeze I drained out of the radiator was the same color as human excrement #2) and replacing the drain valve.

^^Nice new rims and pretty clean engine bay 👍

I've changed the rear tires on my Elise, I'm passed from Bridgestone S-03PP (no more in production) to Toyo Proxes T1-R. 280euro both w/ montage, size 225/45/16.

I replaced my orange front blinkers for white ones today. Already lowered the car 4 cm. Work in progress on my R5.

Replaced the front-left upper ball joint a few days ago. Also bought the lower, but it needs to be pressed out and in so after I get the other side's lower I'll take the knuckles to a shop.

Got a TCU from the junkyard today. Smoothed out the shifts and killed the limp mode my old one went into most times I went highway speeds.

My tires are worn to hell, enough that the front-right decided to let go today. The plan was to replace the 5 ball joints I've got left, get an alignment, then buy 4 new tires. Looks like I'll have to get the tires first, and try my hardest not to take corners fast until I'm aligned. One on Friday, then the rest over the next few weeks as I pay off an $85 ticket for my cracked windshield and student loan payments come around again.

Filled the extremely cavernous windshield washer fluid bottle. I mean...damn thing swallowed 90% of a bottle.

Sounds like every car I've ever filled the reservoir in.

My DD developed a weird clacking noise. Sounds like the brake dust shield rubbing on the rotor but louder. Took the driver side components off. One of the slider pins was seized, replaced it. Went for a drive but noise came back. I'm starting to think the axle might have busted inside the boot. Tomorrow will be a pita since the front camber bolts haven't been loosened in something like 4 years. I'm hoping it's something as simple as an axle replacement. I don't have the time to take apart the trans again.

You should try filling up one on a 06+ Civic.

Protip: You can't. You don't see the tank at all, just the filler neck, and its really long. Even has a dipstick. So anyway I figure I'll fill the neck too, right? Get all I can in there. I FINALLY get it up to the top where I can see it and put the cap on. When I stepped to the passenger side of the car, I hear dripping. There's some sort of over-fill protection that makes it drain the neck out!
