What have you done to your car today?

If your Powercruise is anything like Queensland (we do build the toughest cars though :P), you'll probably get hammered every time in your Commodore. You'll have fun of course, I'd enter my Ute if it was in good condition.

Got a phone call from APC yesterday, the head is back on the engine, the power steering rack and pump are sorted and back in the car, but the gearbox is still in pieces and they were trying to track down the required parts. Problem was they couldn't and would have to come from Japan at a huge delay, so they asked if I knew of any second hand boxes for it.

Now I don't want to put a second hand non refurbished box in because who knows what condition it's in - I could end up worse off!

Anyway I told them to leave it with me and I'd do some homework. I remembered about the place in Ipswich where I got my heavy duty engine mounts from, he specializes in gt four celicas so I gave him a call, he has all the parts there to do a refurb on the gearbox. So I gave his number to APC, bingo. Now box can be finished.

If I'd never done my mounts I would have never known about that place and I would have been stuffed! If only I knew about him when I had to do my gearbox linkage cable

Scrored a metal thread screw in my tyre, time for some new Dunlop hoops!

Looks a tad...muticultural at the moment. I'm picking up some paint tomorrow, I'll hit it with some paint on the weekend.

Got rid of the silly little leaking wing thing on the boot too!

Good job on the repair dude looks good

EDIT: Update... Still without my car 👎
Might be ready tomorrow but probably next week. Can't wait to go for a blat is all..

spauldj3800, that does look great. 👍

Tomorrow, actually today, i'll be throwing the all-seasons (all I got) on the Miata in order to make the best of this "wintry mix" well be getting in houston. I'm excited, I absolutely love playing around in low traction conditions. No baby teeth or tow hooks, hope I don't get stuck...:scared:

:)

Be sure to update us with new power figures and how it drives etc.:sly:

Well it won't be going back on the dyno this time (no need, standard ecu and the boost is now set) so I won't know an exact figure to compare it, but I'm not expecting anything to make me go wow anyway, it was more of a reliability / ground work job this time around until stage 2. I will let you know how it feels anyway.

Still running around on the Azenis?

Haha, yep. There isn't really anything left on them, which makes them kinda fun, especially in cooler temps. I alternate, completely random. Was gonna sell the koseis but after cleaning them they looked too nice, so I threw them on. :)

Wait, what are the specs on the Koseis?

Well, I made a critical error, got caught with no road tax, and opted to scrap my BM in order to avoid any fines...

... another one bites the dust.

RIP "Diana, super car", I tried to look after her, but failed and lost her, maybe I didn't try hard enough.. :(

Thats a great repair spauldj3800 👍 did you do it yourself or take it to a bodyshop?

A friend helped me pull the dent out - he has a puller set up in his shed. Took a bit of stuffing around with the boot lock.

Painted it today - didn't use enough thinners in the paint, I'm not happy with the finish. I'll wait for the next sunny day, rub it back a bit and put another coat on.

Here in a bit I'm going to jack my car up, crawl under it, and inspect suspension components and all sorts of stuff for flaws. I'll use a portion of my ex-car loan to replace things that need fixed.

I took my Dash appart!

Because it had been stuck on the same mileage for the last 50 miles or so, the little motor is duff!

That picture looked fantastic. What happened with your car?

In the UK, to use and keep your car on the road you must have Road Tax and display a small disc in the front window saying you have it. If you get caught on the road without it you get a fine or your car crushed.

Dude, if I could I'd slap you in the face. Hard. I mean, look at that! the car looked fantastic. Were the fines THAT high?

on another note, Perfect Balance, your car looks awesome with the sever drop!! It's coming along way nice, bud.

Also, Stumpy, congrats on finally getting the Pontiac painted.

Why do they have to crush them? What's wrong with impounding/selling them at auctions? That's extremely wasteful, especially for a perfectly good BMW like yours appears to be. I could understand if they crushed cars that were declared to be of very little value to try to sell.

Because crushing them and forcing a person to buy a new car made from new steel and new leather and new plastic is totally more environmentally friendly than running a 15 year old car that gets perfectly decent gas mileage.

It's all about the environment bro.

I bought a used Momo wheel and adaptor for the Manic Miata, and ordered some maintenance parts. It needs a rear wheelbearing, so while I have the spare knuckles at the shop getting the bearings pressed in, I'll change the seals and put fresh bushings in, too. Mazdaspeed Motorsports FTW - OEM parts are just about 50% off if I order through them.

Also ordered an upstream O2 sensor for the TSX - $200 FTL. And to top it all off, the
"needs brakes" light popped on in the 325i. I need to order some Royal Purple transmission and differential oil for it, too. I like the off-season for maintenance time, but I just wish it was 20 degrees warmer out.

all i really did was bring my car out of storage because it hasnt been started in months.

sorry about the quality. these are cellphone pictures on a low quality phone

I haven't posted in this thread since March 08.

I've since replaced the Work VS-XX with a set of Keskin KT-1 since I wanted more of a lip and aggressive offset

Not trying to sound like a dick, but that is a total downgrade in my opinion. You should have just gotten new lips for the works instead of buying the german form of rotas. i think it looked better on the works than the keskins.
other than that, i really like the car. the color is gorgeous.

and i disagree with everyone saying miatas don't fit in with the "hellaflush crowd"... this probably a waste of time posting this because a majority of people here a gonna do nothing but complain and say how stupid these look.

but i don't care, i think they look bad ass and if i had a miata it would look like one of these.

Who says that? I didn't say that.

Anyway Derrict, the car looks great. It's not as mean looking with the bright polished wheels, but whatever. If I were to change one thing about the car...I'd change the front bumper actually. Practicality aside, I've never been a fan of the Speed lip because they're so high off the ground lol.
