What have you done to your car today?

Ladies and gentlemen we have a partial interior!

Some of its a bit warped and I don't have the console, seatbels, rear seats, door jam trim, and I need the headliner...but the rest cleaned up ok.

Tomorrow I'm grabbing another 3rd gen console w/grey carpet, grey 4th gen seatbelts, hopefully 3rd gen backseats and seatbelts, and some door jam trim. If the 3rd gen doesn't have standing water I might take the grey carpet as a temporary solution.

Well I meant the same as when you put in the two new seats :P

Nah I'm kidding it's looking pretty good, once you get the carpeting in it'll look awesome!

Most of the rest of the interior is in! The capet was to badly stained and the standing water has been stagnet for too long. So I passed on it. The rear seats were leather and far too cracked for me to get. I did pickup a good headliner--so all I need is a few more trim pieces and it can go in. :D

I also picked up this:

For those that don't know it's a 4th gen mirror. From the 30th that I got the seats from.

I didn't have my torx wrenches with me or I would of gotten my seat belts and 4th gen door sill thing. Oh well, there's always next time. I got a ton of stuff all for $50. I'm happy. :D And none of this has been cleaned yet, Next pay period I'm heading over to my detail shop I used to supervise and get them to detail my car.

If I were you, I'd put in a sub box behind the front seats and in front of the wheel hump, then carpet over it and the rest of the rear floor.

Or if you want a backseat, stick a sub box in the little "chute" behind the wheel hump and carpet it.

No subs for me I'm affraid. I'm just going to get some good Fosgate punch 6x9's in the rear and some good speakers in the dash as well as little tweeters and be done with it. I don't care about exceesive volume and bass. I'd prefer to just have a normal audi system. I will however want some sort of satnav sooner or later. :D

As much as I love heavy bass, doesn't too much bass hurt the car? One of my close friends has 2 x 12's in his truck and yeah sure they're loud, but doesn't all that shaking hurt the truck?

I'd assume that things like certain parts etc. wouldn't be the same in a vehicle that has loud and large subs installed?

Tis all good, I still say leave out the back seat and just carpet the whole rear.

I originally wanted to do that but I've sense just wanted to restore the car to as close to stock as possible. Its not my hotrod so no need for the seats to be taken out.

I didn't actually do anything to it, but I just returned the rear pads for my Sol I've had since November. I would have kept them for this car if they weren't bigger than the entire caliper. So soon I should be expecting $39.00 credited into my account, and a trip back to Tire Rack to buy the same thing over again. Hopefully they'll get it right this time...

Its a Holden, its always going to be sweet. I do like the interior changes, especially the carpet on the dash.

Thankyou :D I thought the rest of the world hated Aussie interiors, guess I was wrong. I love them of course.:sly:

A barefoot gas pedal? LOL, those things are for high powered V8s only, cars that can really boast about how fast they are.

Took my car on its maiden voyage to the grocery store today. Also chauffeured my grandma for the first time.

I did run into one problem, though. Driving home at night, I accidentally shut off my lights when using the turn signal. Drove for a block until I realized it. Good thing no cops were around. I really hate when the headlight switch is a knob at the end of the turn signal lever.

How didn't you notice the headlights were off if it was dark? Also, what kind of car were you driving? Never seen one with the headlight switch on the stalk.

I think a lot of cars have it like that, like my '98 Malibu. It's pretty difficult to turn off the headlights while trying to turn...the whole twisting motion compared to the yank up or down for the turn signal. My car has daytime detectors for the headlamps anyway.

Interesting...all the cars I've been in have the light switch on the dash, except for my dad's car which has them on the turn signal stalk, but you have to rotate it to turn them on and I've never had them turn on/off while putting on the turn signals.
