What have you done to your car today?

I didn't know the Cobalt exhaust was such a crappy idea, so in that case, yes, money was saved. I thought your were trying to say that gutting the cat somehow made the catback a better design, thus eliminating the need to ever get an improved one.
Ah, but it's not a crap idea like I thought it would be. The exhaust comes out of the back of the engine like a K-series into a 4-1 manifold, which flanges up to a downpipe that has the cat and curves under the car. That bolts to a pipe that runs back to where the muffler's flange is. Pretty must like a K-series. And when you're under there working on the exhaust there's tons of room in every direction to reach everything you need to. Dare I say it's even easier to work on than our cars...

I didn't know an RSX ran outta steam that fast either

What do you mean? If your engine is sucking in a ton of air before 3,000 RPM, you might wanna take it to a mechanic ASAP. Unless you're flooring it all the time, which is just silly.

I got Bocshe flat wiper blades a little while ago, the exact same thing happens to mine, right in the middle of the screen! and it makes that juddering noise when in use:mad:

I tried bending them and it worked...just for a while :-( Sometimes I want to change back but they look a lot better than the standard ones.

i fixed mine, i had to bend the bracket that held the wiper. now mine works great.

I fitted a towbar to the beater.

Had the towbar when I bought it - the specifc one for that car, just had to bolt it on.

1. Removed the bumper. Turns out there's an easier way to do it than the way I did it... :dunce:

2. Released the exhaust and removed the heatshield.

3. Made up some plates with captive nuts.

4. Bolted up the towbar.

5. Reinstalled the exhaust.

6. Released the exhaust again, and bolted on the heat shield.

7. Re-reinstalled the exhaust.

8. Modified the bumper and the mounts to go around the towbar.

9. Bolted on the bumper.

10. Swore at the bumper.

11. Pressed on the bumper to improve the fit.

12. Decided that the fit was "close enough".

Towbar, done.

I drove mine around at 2:30 AM in the snow that started Friday at noon and still hasn't stopped. I really need new tires. I figured I'd get one last drive in the snow before I had south for the rest of my college experience.

Really bad cellphone pic. :dopey:

I ordered my silver carpet yesterday! Should get here before May 1st me thinks. Only cost me $99 + shipping.

And today I had these installed (4th gen Camaro Z28 tips):

All I need to do is paint them and they're good to go. I'll get up some new video reflecting the new exhaust tips...which seem to have made the exhaust note less "hollow"--but maybe its just me.

Chrome them things. Make them seen!

JCE your Comaro is really dealing now 👍 Those tips are just so smexy

Thanks, I've always loved the 4th gen Z28 exhaust tips.

Nah, I'm going for solid flat black. It'll look good once I get my car painted silver next month. Just imagine, by June you won't even be able to recognize my Camaro.

Let us not forget where he came from:

2007-2008(early):

2008 (April):

I had a pretty exciting day. Not too long after I bought my AE86 Corolla for a daily driver, I said the first thing I expected to give out on that car was the diff. That was over a year ago. Fast forward to the past week or two, I've been getting this loud tapping/knocking noise coming from the rear while driving., getting worse at speed. First guess was wheel bearings, then remembered those are usually indicated by more of a humming noise.

Gradually getting worse over the course of a couple days, finally Friday it's the most god-awful racket and you feel it through the whole car. What ever the hell it was, it was going to come apart and wreak havoc any second now. At highway speeds you feel like the car is going to rip apart. I already set up a time this morning (Saturday) to take it to my friend's house so we can try to locate the knocking noise.

So Friday night I get home from work at about 11-11:30 PM and say maybe it's time to start looking for a new beater since this thing is going to tear the axle in half any second now. I get on my local gearhead/ricer forums (tamparacing.com) and head right to 'Toyotas For Sale,' since Toyota is so bad ass. Right near the top I spot a guy giving away a free rear axle for an SR5 AE86 to whoever gets to his house before he goes to the dump. FREE. From one drum to the next, including the diff. Found him on AIM and said "OMFG RIGHT NOW."

I get to the guy's house at about 1-1:30 AM last night and was like holy crap, he's white! (VERY rare among AE86 owners), before getting my free crap, to which he added an alternator. :) Today I started bright and early and ended up swapping out the rear axle/diff in about 4 hours. I gotta say, I love how easy this car is to work on. There's just so much free space!

Long post, but I'm STOKED I replaced an entire rear diff and axle for just the cost of gas to pick it up and fluid to fill it up. The Corolla will live another year!

I started stripping the rust off my fender wells, still a lot more to do. The outside will still look the same, but now it won't try to rust from the inside-out.

Yesterday I washed it and waxed it and realized how good it looks. Bummer about the door dents, though. Also, I'm about || <-------- that close to ordering all sorts of stuff for it.

I've sent it to the shop with a fair amount of water mixed with the engine's oil. Beat that.

I gave nerdwagon a bath and vacuumed it. :) The wheels are still impossibly dirty.

I replaced my starter--which the original lastest 243,5xx miles before it decided not to work. Oh, and btw the starter on this car weighs approx. 35lbs. o_O It was a bitch to replace with only a regular jack to raise the car. The starter is down by the transmission/flywheel fir those who are wondering.

I took the beater to the shop for a wheel alignment. Now it's not wearing out the front tyres at an alarming rate.

Yay!

Today I vow to order my brakes and shifter bushings from Tire Rack and PasswordJDM, respectively. I promise. And then I'll install them eventually and have pictures and whatnot.
