What have you done to your car today?

Got a Fidanza Lightweight Aluminum Flywheel for $304.00. Going to have it installed next week. :D

well....what i am about to say isn't my car....it's my mum's seeing as I am only 12.

Ran it out of FUEL :ill:
It had been sitting in the carport for about....4 weeks and I thought I would give it a run.
Turned it over...ran it for a bit...turned around to go and water the garden...took to steps...and....putputput..puuut...BOOM.
It's a 1999 Toyota Corolla CSI and these girls never EVER, like to run out of juice...now it wont start even though we filled it up...checked the fuel lines, and checked the fuel filter....IT WONT START

Check the canooter valve.

Over the last few days, I installed a new alternator (the old one was locking up, with the belt slipping right over it and squealing REAL loud), torque strut, and an MP1A automatic transaxle with a limited slip out of a '94 Prelude VTEC. The car pulls like never before, even from freeway speed limits. I hit 115 with no trouble, and am tempted to see how high it'll go with my TCU.

My insurance premium finally went up from the accident in September, so I owe Geico $90. It cost two friggin' grand to replace the rear bumper on that Escape!

EDIT - new plug wires today

Oh, and I took the belt off the power steering pump, experimenting with whether or not I want to keep it off for the Prelude engine swap. Unfortunately it snowed today, so I cant give it a real shakedown in the mountains just yet.

I'm in the process of taking the Civic's coilovers off. They should be getting sold on Thursday.

Worked out my fuel economy for last month. An incredible 30 Mpg in a 1.4 petrol :indiff: Damn short urban journeys at 7am in winter.

Ah well, I've already racked up some good motorway miles this month and plan to do more later. Should be alot healthier.

Installed a CD player, since the car had no radio at all when I bought it. Changed the oil and the transmission fluid a couple days ago. Runs much better now. :)

Currently browsing the market for track wheels/tires.

Photos from a drive up Lookout Mtn Road above Golden, CO. What an amazing road! It's almost surreal looking out over an entire city, then being able to see the curvature of the Earth on the horizon beyond that. Beautiful. I couldn't enjoy the road to the fullest because for some reason the tranny's slipping when coming off the brakes and accelerating hard out of the corners. The trip back to Collins was unfortunate as well when, taking the backroads in the dark of night, I couldn't see that the road we were on suddenly turned to gravel in the middle of a 90-degree bend. There was a slight drop and the car bottomed out, and now the top of the radiator is leaking. Hopefully Advance will buy that it was a defective part... again... and I'll get a free replacement under warranty. Here are some pics from the trip, as well as my DIY grille and a couple of the ones I took during the tranny swap (thumbnails are links to full pics if you really care for a good look).

The brakes were billowing smoke when we got back down... had to let them cool. The Duralast Gold ceramics I have on there fade worse than the standard pads I had on before! And yes, that's a CB radio antenna. They're fun for cruise night, when you've got several cars out and cell phones aren't the most convenient... or safest. Cool to get traffic/construction info from truckers on the highway as well.

Needed to transfer a mount stud from the F22 tranny to the new one, but otherwise a direct bolt-on.

Wow, some great pictures you've got there.
The roads are superb for cruising on and I'm totally envious of you for having such marvelous roads at your disposal.
And good work on the car but the Duralast brand seems to be a joke for the enthusiast it seems.
I'm not sure why you didn't go with the Hawk pads or some EBC pads in place of your original pads. Heck, you're paying about the same dollar as you are for the Duralast so just saying..

Heh. My Mazda was managing that commuting on short urban journeys in Winter :D Should manage over 40mpg fairly easily in the Summer providing I don't take it on too many trackdays.

^^ Hope they've got your tyres in stock!

^ haha

.................

Recently I've been investigating the wife's Punto because it's losing water and overheating. Lots of steam coming out the exhaust and "mayonase" on oil filler cap...efin headgasket has gone! :ouch: Punto's are complete hunks of doo doo so good excuse to get rid of it.

Pick up 3 year old Megane tonight :) ...not a R26R :(

I've sworn at mine a lot today. Think I might actually have to bite the bullet on this clutch cylinder job and have it taken to a garage. The bolts holding the cylinder to the bellhousing seem to be rounding off far too easily (twenty years of road grime, water, clutch fluid and all sorts of stuff eating into the metal probably has the effect of making them a bit "soft") and I don't want to take them past the point of no return. Luckily I'm in a financial position at the moment where I can afford to have the job done, so hopefully I'll get it done and dusted in the next week or so.

And then I can start driving the damn thing again. Must have been off the road for seven weeks now :(

On the plus side, the £100-odd I've spent getting odds and ends, tools and stuff won't go to waste as I'll be able to do other odd jobs with them anyway.

Also on the plus side, it starts on the button, as always. Gave the engine a warming up today in-situ just to keep everything healthy, and it seemed to run absolutely fine. I've only started it twice in the last two months or so but it doesn't seem to mind :)

Put in a new distributor. Finally, the tach doesn't rapidly swing between 2500 and 7500rpm while moving at a constant speed, and doesn't miss anymore either. I think I just need a new dizzy cap, cv axles, two tires, and a window motor + regulator or two before I don't feel aweful about selling it to some poor soul. Going to hunt down an EX sedan, swap over the Prelude tranny and muffler, then dump this problematic LX... after I buy some Koni STR.T shocks that are on sale for near $100 off MSRP.

I got mine through inspection. Fixed a major oil leak, new tires, oil change, took care of the messed up sway bar, and found out the my front right wheel is bent. At least it no longer pulls to the left.

I took the spoiler off my '98 Paseo, IMO looks better now, and more 'mature'. Here's a gratuitous video of me driving it out of my garage.

Haha, love the Paseo and I own one too.
1993 for me but not as pretty as yours unfortunately.
Looks good man.

A complete service, on the drive, including a cambelt change.

And let me give you all a little tip here. If you have an MX-3, 323 V6 or Probe V6, pay someone else to do it.

Nice Paseo 👍 I considered one of those for a while.

But only if you have a spare £500 lying around, if I recall?

I thought you said the MX3's cambelt change was an engine-out job?
