What I don't want to see in GT6 when someone crash and tries to rejoin the track...

i think just for tracks with very little width to them in tight corners like that, if the car is +/- 90 degrees to the track, then you go invisible. There is no way to tell people to stop and wait because you will lose if you stop

I guess at some point you have to decide between realism and fiction.. or just race in a league which I plan to do.

Realism:Fiction :: Practicality:Enjoyment
Basically .. yes. I also love league races. There it is more organised, i know everyone and how they drive, i know what to do when someone has a snowball mic, everything. We all show respect to the other. I mean, basically its drivers courtesy to wait or move out of the way if that were to happen.

Me being in the LMP group of our league, you pretty much have to be best of the best from the GT categories. If i saw something like that, i'd most likely have the race stopped, a regroup would take place, the LMP go and then the GT cars would take off as well. It's ridiculous even by the fact that it was a GTP member..

The driver causing the accident is usually a clean and fair guy, he just did a mistake here. I just want to tell everyone what not to do and show an example, it could have been anyone else, don't focus on him.

Together we raise the quality of online races!

Im not sure if this was from a replay, but if not, he never looked right to see if oncoming traffic was approaching. a quick reverse wouldve made it a lot better rather than having an incident such as Niki Laudas. (I know, there's probably a few errors in that but you get the point)

Agreed, simple solution, if you are more stopped for some reason, going too slow, off track etc...you should automatically ghost. And yes, you can tell people to stop and wait, it's part of the GTP Online Racing Rules and common courtesy to boot..not against AI I suppose but against people yes.

My league follows the concept that if you crash and other cars are behind you and about to overtake, you have to allow them to pass before you return to track, or you get a league induced warning should you come back on to the course and cause an accident which results in a caution, and a points penalty if you repeat the previous unsafe return to track and cause another caution inducing accident along with a five second delay start for that driver after green flag racing resumes.

It's as if we all need a 30 minutes worth safety breeding before each race

It would go a long way towards solving problems like this if PD could just introduce yellow flags already! A flags system is one realistic feature missing from Gran Turismo that's badly needed.

I'm a fan of the semi-transparent cars, but I know I'm probably largely alone on that one.

Many will say that it's not realistic, but I say it's a perfect way to counter other unrealistic items like racing with totally inexperienced drivers, not having flags, and not really being able to check all around before attempting a move.

...Make sure the track is clear before you rejoin it...
Makes no difference what you tell people, especially in the early days of a new game - they can be told before a race and all agree...then once the race starts, they'll be off like a gaggle of puppies.
Let's see what PD have made of online - it is one of the areas that have been improved.

A race with all ghost cars wouldn't be better? Just you racing against the other, trying to make a better time, without watching if the other driver is stupid or not.

I'm a big fan of realism, but also a big fan of practicality and doing what works. An option to have drivers off track, re-entering track and way off pace turning into ghost cars, seems to me an ideal option that should be available to hosts and Race Directors. Solves an awful lot of issues, even if it's not completely realistic.
