What is it about Laguna Seca?

Haha no worries man. I was just razzing you a bit :)

Thanks for watching my videos!

Yea, I know, its cool and thanks for understanding. 👍 I'm just going to blame Misty and Bopop for their long winded posts for distracting me.

Just kidding Misty and Bopop. 👍:)

I'm going to have to pull you up here, even in GT5 where I have a much more difficult time feeling the grip threshold due to only visual and audio cues I very rarely feel 'uncertain' of the rear end.

In fact the only time I have any degree of uncertainty is when I'm driving cars like the F1 cars (Mostly because F1 cars mess with my brain because I'm trying to battle with two separate laws of physics, IE needing to go quick to have downforce but needing to go slow to not overwhelm the tyres)

However I would have to agree with you, if I had to choose between understeer and oversteer of course I'll choose oversteer. If I make a mistake and go into a corner a touch too hot for whatever reason I can still manage it with throttle and steering inputs, in an FF if you're understeering the most you can really do is play with the throttle and pray while yanking the wheel in the direction you need to go.

@Misty, I'm not even going to START on how mad suggesting that a RWD cars front wheels carry the same burden as an FWD's.

I drive mostly 400-550 PP type street cars on CM to SM tires, so running out of grip is a regular thing, especially with the throttle. You're right about the feedback though it's mostly visual and auditory and there is so much more they could do to make the wheel come alive. I downloaded SimRaceway and gave it a spin recently and the feedback from the wheel was so much better, the car felt alive and I felt barely in control most of the lap in a street car.

A RWD is like dealing with a teenager. They’re more interested in what’s cool and popular rather than in what’s best. They’re quick to anger and overreact to everything. You can get good at dealing with them, but that doesn’t change what you’re dealing with.

After driving them for a while, getting back into my Integra is like speaking to an adult again.

So, I’m going to give her Racing Hard tires and go driving in the rain, because I have something to say!

Good analogy about the teenager but I have a better one. A RWD is like the kind of wild, crazy woman many of us men are attracted to in our younger years (some of us don't change I admit:sly:). She's beautiful but unpredictable, she's as likely to kiss you as slap you in the face, she gives you the illusion of control then takes it away when you stop paying attention. She drinks and she smokes and cusses like a sailor sometimes, but your Dad loves her because she's so sweet and charming. The risks are high, but the rewards are orgasmic.

An FF is that pretty girl, raised in a perfect family, doesn't swear, drinks socially, always knows what to say and do. You want to marry her but you're always afraid you're missing out on something. Most of us end up marrying that girl, but we still have fond memories of our wild girlfriends.

The Integra is not representative of your typical FF. It is very responsive with high levels of grip and great turn in. It's actually competitive in PP racing, in fact dominant at 450PP. Most FF's aren't like that. Most don't have a lot of grip and understeer to the point where you can't tune it out.

So I took it upon myself to do some hybriding of a Mitsubishi FTO GP Type R. This is a car with so much potential, a beautiful motor with a high revving, peaky powerband and low torque, good sound, 6 speed gearbox, aerodynamic etc. But it just doesn't like to turn into or out of corners no matter what I do with the tuning. What it's missing is front grip, so hybriding to the rescue and I added 15 DF to the front, which cost me about 30 HP same as adding a wing to the back of any car.

What a difference!!! At first it had so much grip I couldn't keep the back end in check. Took it to Nurb online and tuned it up to the point where I think I overtamed it so it still needs work but it's a much, much better car now than before. It actually turns when you want it to, with just a touch of understeer creeping in here and there but only when you overcook the entry or get on the throttle too hard too early.

I was able to get do a 7:57 in my one timed flying lap and I'm pretty sure I could get it into the low 7:50's off line to make it competitive on the Nurb PP Board. That would be faster than a Mazda Roadster (P) and a Toyota 86 GT12, both very competitive cars.

Best of all it was actually fun to drive. You can now make it as loose as you want just by adding some negative rear too, kicking back the ARB a notch or two, or just adding 20-30 kgs of rear ballast.

Unfortunately front downforce isn't available in the regular game but it is the key to what's needed to make FF's competitive in my opinion.

The car is shared on my profile if anyone want's to give it a spin. :sly:
