The gearbox is the only thing that really lets the car down in a big way, I'm not sure what gearbox Takumi's 86 was supposed to have in Initial D but I'm guessing it's not a standard T50.

What Tak has is a TRD 20 valve racing engine, not a "so called" racing engine. Plus, building up a 4age to that power won't be as good because it won't have VVT(variable valve timing). And what does having to get na tune up have to do with anything? Thats simply so you can have Taks car before and after he got the racing engine. Tak also has a rally tuned transmission, therefore asumming it has a close gear ratio, buy a racing transmission and make it closer.

N3's
Sports soft are semi-racing tires, look at the treads, those are almost racing tires. Nothing like a touge car would have. Taks car probably has something a little better that sports radials.

Just because you post a lot there is no need to critisize someone else's skill.... :dunce: Check your grammer.

I'm parodying the drift racers that get their ego popped like a red, round balloon if anyone passes them and proceed to verbally abuse their opponent...*cough*

lol i know yer not coughin at me....and what the hell are you talking about..If passing is your goal, you're in the wrong forum...btw how did your idm swtichover go...

Bah, I'm sick of talking about this car. My final words on it are that it is there mostly for novelty value and I prefer tuning up a standard one to using this one.

I tried the SS yesterday and didn't see anything that lives up for all this hype. It is quite powerful and very light, but the terrible gear changes and the ridiclous low-revs torque don't make it look too good. I found the Corolla Levin 1600GT-APEX (or whatever, the AE86) to be both faster and funnier to drive.

Flame if you want, I can stand it.

Actually, I agree with what you said :)

Both the original AE86s are better than the Trueno S.S version, but then again, the AE86 line of cars pretty much suck =/

hmmm I like the S.S. better over the other ones lol.

they were made to be full throttle so STEP ON THE PEDAL hehe, no need for much feathering.

In short, it's tuned the way Bunta wanted it to be-full throttle, no feathering. :sly:

i got banned because I like initial d

We were laughing about it on the Initial D World forums, because if it weren't for ID, 80% of these people would have zero idea what drifting is. :dunce:

uhhh no i was talking about Keiichi. He full throttles the 86 because it can and what not. Just use the right tires for the car and drift it stock. it's wonderful :sly:

I know, but Bunta Fujiwara had also tuned his hachiroku in such a way so that you could really push it through the turns, keep the gas pedal down, and squeeze more speed out of it...I was referring to that.

The hachi will always have a special place in my heart because it's the car that taught me to drift.

You got banned on IDM because you posted things that didn't pertain to the thread topics at all. You were even told before hand that LifeWater won't take that kind of crap. Random song lyrics ina thread that has nothing to do with music, random comments that probably only make sense in your own mind, and that particular post about the FP's friend was pretty ****ty. Trying to egg on one forum against another forum is pretty bad. But to put down the GTP GT4 Drift section on IDW, and selectively quote certain individuals is the lowest of the low, considering you continue to post here quite abit. So why are you still here if this place is so crappy?

For anybody who hasn't seen it. GTPlanet GT4 Drifting Forums "It's degenerated. A lot..." Courtesy of you, so you shouldn't talk...
Yup I definately made that picture too, you hate it so much, but you keep on bringing it back. Must have someone else thinking for you, probably Takumi huh?

There's also another thread where he specifically attacks IDM, encouraging IDW members to join and flood the IDM Forum with asinine comments. That thread you have to be a registered member to view. I heard it had been locked, more than likely because of the immaturity of the thread, but probably also due to the lack of proof concerning his malicious comments.

Because you lack the ability to take constructive criticism, it's not reason to put down the GT4 Drift section of GTP. Basically GTP drifters, I'm pretty tired of watching Captain Trips spread his sub-immature attitude. I've seen him twist others words to make them look bad, and said nothing recently hoping it'd die. I basically feel he only posts to degrade members of this forum. IDM, PDR, and DD have all been a subject of discussion with Captain Trips, and never in a positive sense...

He DOES NOT contribute to this forum (DPC a monkey could run since 194Gvan layed it all) in any manner, he only drags it down. Now he's taking his ill attitude of GTP to other forums. If he can attempt to attack the credibility of this forum and its upstanding members, what right does he have to be a member? Do you really want a member like that around here?

And since I'm pretty sure you'll just selectively quote me on IDW... You can tell Sweeper on IDW to come here and say we all suck at drifting to our faces while you're at it. He doesn't post here, he doesn't contribute here, he doesn't get the right to say our drifting is inferior to his. Oh wait, I'm sorry he says he can't even drift in GT4, thats just too bad for him to talk crap about us and not even drift...

Sorry ViXeN for the massive hi-jacking of your thread...

We were laughing about it on the Initial D World forums...:dunce:

I know I've said this countless times, you were not banned because you like Initial D. You were banned for some inappropriate posts u made...such as the response I found on FP's thread, the random Initial D song lyrics I found on serious threads that had absolutely nothing to do with Initial D. And then on top of that, you were just an ass in general. Which is really no surprise to anyone on the IDM or GTP forums.

As for laughing on the IDW forums, yea, that was pretty funny. Because your attitude made a complete 180 (for those who don't know, Captain trips is "keisuke takahashi" over there). You basically sliced up my AIM convos to make me sound like an Initial D hater, even though I said I wasn't quite a few times. Using that, you encourage people to come over and attack my forums. I mean its sad enough that the people over there actually believed you without getting our side of the story, but the fact that you would even go that far, shows how low you will go just to be recognized by a group of your peers.

And then on a different thread you even tried insulting FP, who had done absoutely nothing to you at all. In fact he is a long time poster over at IDW. I mean do you have no shame? And to make matters worse you never even used our last AIM convo, but that was probably because it would have basically showed your true colors. I personally thought the best part of the thread was when the admin closed it.

And now I see you have an GT4 Drifting forum thread over at IDW as well, in which you bash everyone here. Is this commonplace with you? Come to a forum, spread as much Initial D as possible, ignoring what the forum is actually about (GT4 Drifting incase you didn't know).. and as soon as your rejected, you start a hate post over at IDW, trying to raise your morale so you can continue to repeat the same process over and over?

Captain Trips
because if it weren't for ID, 80% of these people would have zero idea what drifting is.

Well, just to get this out of the way, that statement is completely untrue, and based on your personal opinion. And even if there are people who are now drifting in GT4 because they watched Initial D at some point (like myself), that is no reason to shove Initial D down their throats and demand that the basically pay homage to it each day because they wouldn't be here other wise. People move on, they grow up, and go on to bigger and better things. At best, Initial D is a stepping stone, to help you get into the drifting scene. Thats about the best purpose it serves.

Initial D is anime, japanese animation. It's a form of entertainment you watch on your computer, or your television. That is as far as it goes. Its a nice anime to sit down and watch when you don't have anything to do, but after you reach that point, it has no purpose on these forums. Gran Turismo 4 is a driving simulator. What we do here is drift in a simulated environment. Initial D is not based on a simulation, in fact a majority of the drifts depicted there could never happen, since they are both fast and high angled, two things that do not mix in the real world, or in GT4.

i think the car sucks in general because of the way all the corollas gotta be tuned in gt4...all soft or really frickin hard suspension...I cant stand corolla's!!

I had never heard about that anime series and still couldn't care less about it. I actually began drifting in Gran Turismo by accident. After losing the control of the car when cornering too fast a few times I began trying to slide the car through corners. Since then inertia drifting has been the backbone of my driving style.

In GT4 I drive and drift my AE86 Corolla because it's fun, not because of some Japanese cartoon.

the s.s. isn't a corolla just a 411

but yes the car is based on that car from initial d! go figure.

I think this thread should be closed it's been discussed far enough.
