in your opinion what is the best production car in the world ever. the car can still be in production or have been stopped, it dosent matter just your thoughts on which is the best.
for me it would have to be the McLaren F1, its performance is more than a match for anything and its styling makes it one of the most amazing looking cars ever.

I would have to agree with the McLaren F1. That car, along with the Ferrari F50, are the cream of the crop.

id say Viper (all models) is the best FR layout car ever made,it has really good looks and just wicked power.....

before you speed 12 fans out there its better than the viper, shaddup,The Speed 12 is just BUTT UGLY!!!

Best car ... on what grounds? If you're leaving it wide open then I'll have to go with the Honda Accord (: Best bang for your buck, and it's useful too.

Performance cars, probably the Ferrari F355 or maybe the new Lamborghini <Insert crazy name here>. They're both so beautiful, fairly well priced, and are like rockets on the road.

Someone once said that the Mini Cooper was the best car ever made because it hadn't gone through any redesigns in roughly 30 years. That's pretty impressive!

That's a rough one. I agree with Jordan on the McLaren and Ferrari F50 for absolutely no-cost ultra performance. Well, let's say tentatively agree, since I've not driven either of them.

For making an incrediable sports car and putting a $30K price on it, I'd have to consider the S2000. And even the Accord, for being great, affordable, practical, and sporty.

And, considering the success Porsches, Acura Integras and BMW 3-series cars have had in GT racing, you have to consider them, too.

Not exactly a definitive answer, is it?

You guys are forgeting the best bang for the buck vehicle ever made. The Camaro z28 ls1. 13 second 1/4 mile for $23,000.
Nothing can compare with that. now if you want comfort and
style that's a whole different story, but performance for the dollar
it's no contest.

the Mclaren F1 isn't really the ultimate car,a modest Ford Escort Cosworth would leave it for dead on a tight racetrack...

the best overall type of car, not being specific to one model here, would have to be a 4 wheel drive station wagon along the lines of those by bmw or audi, maybe volvo.

I agree, that's why I want an :audi: RS6 so much!

And the Viper isn't? Puhrlease! Get some glasses!

I think most people can have odd taste. If you think the firebird is ugly but call the 300M beautiful, you need to be commited. that's what i say, and i'm right.

1987 Porsche 959.

Still the fastest production Porsche built.

The McLaren may be faster in a straight line, anything with a V8+ (from the Aston Martin Vantage to the spin-happy Viper) has so much more *whoomph*, and a Caterham has more feel and feedback...but the 959 seems the sweetspot-middleground for me. Tactility, traction, built like a Panzer, and a blow-it-out-your-momma's-a$$ turbo. This car has had me sold on the 4WD/turbo combination ever since. I couldn't ask for more...except to own one.

:rolls: :bentley: ok it may be over priced it may not be the quickest or the fastest but if you have ever taken the time to look at one you will see what I am Talkning about .What other the company takes the time to completly get ever wood panel right .. what company has the own farms where the hinds for thge leather seats come from.. what company takes the time to store wood for all the models so it can be replaced for indival cars so that matches. this is what it takes to makes them the best

I still think $100,000 is high. ;) From what I hear, modern Bentley's are a rather keen ride. 590 lb-ft at 2100rpm is not something that I would consider "stodgy". "Stonking", maybe; "stupid fast for a 5,000 lb car, probably. :D

I think you just have to keep repeating the Bentley mantra:

"I am driving an oil tanker"
"I am driving an oil tanker"
"I am driving an oil tanker"
"I am driving an oil tanker"

Then you should be OK!

I don't think that this is the kind of answer your looking for, but for me....any car that's running and paid for and that's in my name is the best car in the world. :)
