From what I understand Grand Prix Challenge is the best, but my vote goes to Gran Turismo, it's olny got six old cars, but they're all great cars. And tracks? We got Monaco, we need nothing else. And besides, the tuning options are better too:lol: But really though, I'm trying to find GPC around my area and having no luck:(

Can you play F1 Career Challenge the same way you play F12002?
Can I just choose a car and select a track and go for a single race/time trial or/ championship ? or am I restricted to the Career mode?

Ugh. I agree... Gran Turismo has a much better feel and set up than any of EA's titles. Much better frame rate, too. It's very annoying when the frame rate dips while you're racing.

F1 2002 is fun, though. The controls change greatly once you enter simulation mode. So I stay with normal mode everytime I play.
989 Studios has an F1 game... I'm not sure what the name is. But look it up. It might be better than EA's offering.

Formula One 2003 is pretty good, I think the damage engine needs to be hugely updated but I like it.

Grand Prix Challenge is excellent, as is Formula One 2003. Both have differing good and bad points.

Formual One 2004 out in a few weeks though, so could be good.

you don't go into simulation mode? it is more of a challenge, I like it. it sucks getting used to it but once you get used to the brakes and handeling, it is very fun. I managed to pummel out a 1.11.876 at indianopolis in simulation mode. I would have qualified 8th place if it was real. and at magny-cours, I put out a 1.09.899. the brakes are the trickiest thing to learn how to work them w/o locking them up. I don't have a problem with them right now, but every now and then I will put to much pressure on it and fark my whole racing line up. I remember on simulation mode at indy, I got 5th place and almost 4th place in a friggin minardi. it was awesome.

rock. :)

Do you play with a wheel? I find it really annoying how delicate you have to be with the steering to not have your tires squeel when making a light turn.
I haven't played F1 2002 in a while...
Been playing F1 Career Challenge, though. Which is pretty good fun. The framerate for this game is a lot smoother and is probably why I like it more. It has its kinks, though.
EA changed how the cars handle.. it's somewhat in the middle between 2002's normal and simulation mode. What I really dislike the most about the game, though, is how you can't choose what tire compound/type you want to qualify/race with.
It's really frustrating when you're forced to qualify/race in dry conditions with wet tires simply because "rain is expected late in the session" You end up several seconds off pace and often times have to start the race near the back. If you're extremely good or just cut a lot of corners you can sometimes make pole or be somewhere near the front.
The pit system is a little... random... sometimes. There's been a few times where the AI would pit directly behind me... and come out in front with a huge gap.

Indianapolis is a real bastard track. I either brake too early for turn 1 or overshoot it and turn into the grass. Then there's the S-bend... bleh. Hahahaha

I like Hungaroring, though. That, Suzuka, Catalunya, Nurburgring and Imola are probably my favorite tracks. Oh and Monaco... but EA's version feels a little shoddy.

:)

Albert Park rules. Playing Formula One 2003 today I stalled the engine in the pits. I didn't know I could do that. :D

When you're just racing around the track you're engine doesn't actually stall but the anti stall device activates (I guess) and you have to go back to nuetral rev it up then put it in gear. In the pits I just had to press X to get it kicking again.

Do you know if F1 Career Challenge still has that draft meter feature (LIKE ON f12002) ?????

I'm not sure, but on most screenshots I didn't see the official FIA Tag Hauer displays on F1 career challenge. Is that gone too?

Thanx.
