What is the rarest car in the game?

Now that the trading cap is in place - technically, the rarest car in the game would be the Carbon X2010 Prototype, as you can only get it from golding the Vettel challenge, and that's considered a fair bit harder than golding the licenses.

The GT Academy 370Z could be considered rare (only available through a ticket), and the Jaguar XFR as well (since it's a one-time prize only, and never shows in the UCD), but as both can be traded, they can't really be that rare. Now that most people have the Level 21/22/23 tickets as well, a lot of multi-million cars are also available a bit easier than UCD-hunting, provided you like ticket-refreshing.

1991 Mercedes-Benz 190 E 2.5 - 16 Evolution
1994 Nismo 270R
2004 Opera Performance 350Z
Any of the spoons don't seem to come up very often I have yet to see the S2000
2002 Saleen S7 I find to be a rarity at least for me and I have yet to see anyone else driving one
2002 Jaguar S-Type R

1983 BALLADE Sports CRX.

Only seen it 3 times since when I got the game on Christmas.

I have 2.

It's a good car, too. Since they can be found for >10,000 Cr, a complete overhaul is cheap, and recommended, too. Makes the car better.

Also, The Lotus MotorSport Elise Is also rare, too. When I first saw it in the UCD, I thought "I didn't know that was in the game."

Standard F2007 is just for arcade mode, using the export car feature used on the PSP version of the game, same goes with the standard 787B, Enzo and GT-R. PD determined it pointless to put these cars in the used car dealership as there were premium versions of them.

I found a way to find if a car is rare (GTPlanet member's "encoded" effort):

Seems they use the times (per game day) the car comes up in the UCD.

I've seen the R89c show up twice, the Chapperal 2J turn up several times in one week(!) maybe the other times were on alt accounts. I've seen the Ford Falcon XR8, Jaguar XJR-9 LM '88, CLK-GTR, the Elise Motorsport, TommyKaira ZZII, Audi R8 LMS, R390 race, Mine's BNR34 Skyline Base '00 and the Viper Oreca show up once only.

I've yet to see the Escudo, R92CP, the Peskies, the Sauber, GT One, Nomad, 787b or teh Bentley and I want them all. The Stealth cars are particularly annoying because I had the codes when I bought the game but the PS3 was out of action and by the time it was up and running they'd expired.

I'm sure plenty of people have said this: the rarest car is the one car you want to find. Unfortunately for me, I really needed to buy the Chaparral 2D before anything else (although I only had 7 cars left to buy anyway), it took me a week to find it... Now I need the Judd GV5, Ford GT LM and McLaren F1 GTR, which, shockingly, I can't find.

I got a few good cars from the used car dealership, I got the Audi R8 Oreca LMS, R390 road and race car, Mazda 787B, Viper Oreca, Castrol NSX, a few racing GTRs, zonda C12 and C12s, McLaren F1 GTR and S2000 LMS and 4 ZZIIs

I've seen GTOne road+race car, chaparral 2j and the old racing nissans

I really want to get Escudo, fave from GT3, and the gtones, I buy anything that looks good from the dealership

Btw, any1 know how to get gold chrome paint without trading?

Im fine with that. They already trolled us enough with adding the GTPSP cars (which are premium in GT5) as standards AND restricting them to arcade mode only.
Im not the only one who bought GTPSP for the sole reason of porting the cars to GT5. IMO its one of the worst PSP games I own so it was a bad deal for me.

is the toyota carina ED 2.0 X 4WS from 1989, it is i think the only car to have actual working 4 wheel steering in the game.
