Well, I'm pretty confident that the release version will be better than GT5. Going back to GT5 after doing the GT Academy demo made that obvious for me.
Nada, the PS3 should've been killed when TLOU came out, all the games that came out later should be PS4 only titles. You had Kaz complaining about the current hardware back in 2010, yet he announces another potentially unfinished game for the PS3. It doesn't make sense and purchasing GT6 makes no sense at all.

Maybe not for you pal, but I want to see what PD can do the second time around on this 7 year old machine. So far they're doing good and there really aren't any other interesting PS3 games coming out this year, even more of a reason for me to spend cash on GT6 as I'm not interested in the next generation of consoles.

This. I was thinking about getting the PS4 this year, but now I'm not getting neither next-gen consoles (Wii U is all good for me). GT6 on PS3 is all I need.

Well, it's not just hope. A year ago, when nothing had been revealed about GT6, there was only hope. Now that we've seen and tried demos and seen the presentations, there's a lot of stuff to back up this hope, so I would rather call it justified belief.
You're right about it not being knowledge though, because that will have to wait until the game has been released. But a justified belief is often enough to make a prediction, such as:
I predict that when I drop this rock, it will fall to the ground, or:
I predict that when GT6 is released, it will be the best GT game to date.
Of course, there's a discussion to be had about how strong reason you need to have before a belief can be called justified, the extreme position being that we can't know anything for sure, other than that I think, therefor I am (Cogito ergo sum).
In the first case above we have all personally experienced gravity for several years and we're also more or less familliar with the underlying theories that explains it. In that case we have very strong reasons to believe that our preiction will be correct.
In the case of GT6, we don't have the same kind of evidence to support our prediction, and as you say, the presentations and official information should be taken with a grain of salt, given what we know from previous releases (also, the interviews should be taken with a shovel of salt if you ask me, because those are all impromptu conversations and there's a lot of margin for error there). But there are still some very strong evidence that we can build our prediction on and that is the demos and all their content that we have seen and tried for ourselves.
What it comes down to, then, is wether or not what we've seen in the demos is enough for GT6 to be the best GT title to date. "Best" in itself is impossible to measure in an objective way, so I guess it's all about what each gamer is looking for in a Gran Turismo game.
For me, it's the driving experience, the cars, the locations and the graphics. From what I've seen in the GT Academy demo and other demos, that is enough for me to say that this will be the best GT game so far. It's a justified belief.
For someone else, who might be more interested in better AI, better sounds, better career mode etc. there's not so much (if anything) in those demos that shows improvements, so they can't really say that it will be the best GT game so far. If they still believe it's possible, it's merely a hope.
Now, when it comes to predicting the NASDAQ, that would require a whole other set of data and theories, which can't be obtained from watching GT6 demos...
Given the fact that the Democrats and Republicans are deliberately steering the ship (America and the global economy) towards the rocks in a chicken race to try and get the other to step down, my prediction would be that NASDAQ is going to crash hard and ugly within a near future.
Ditto. The exact same reason I was going to post.
And GT6 will be "better". So, it's a no-brainer. Far and away the best gaming investment possible for my tastes.
But I will predict you won't like GT6 as much as I do because it's not a PC sim.
But seriously, I have a feeling I'll enjoy it more than you or Imari because I'm not an incessant critic. Just look at the past three years of GT5 history between us three. Sure, for the vast majority of fans, GT5 had a number of issues, sometimes glaring issues. Very few Race Mod cars, with a pretty lame preset livery which you could paint one area. A Paint Shop with NO paint of its own. An XP system almost no one liked. A modification system that had to be improved through patches. Same for the online system. Sounds improved over time as well, and sometimes not to certain critics satisfaction. Standard cars and tracks, and rim selection added with a patch, black outline interiors added with a patch... yadda yadda.
I groused for maybe two months. Some of you never stopped. At some point, you have to move on and either enjoy what you have, or play something else. I played it. I enjoyed it. You guys didn't... whatever.
I guess I'm just not a grumpy gus by nature. Amazingly, I seem to offer suggestions for improvement without saying things like "oh and X game / Y game / most other games are better in every way." I also don't post as if nothing has been improved in GT5 for almost three years.
I also take into account the fact that most of Polyphony Digital have been there since the beginning, and have produced a slew of high quality games. I acknowledge that GT5 has aspects which are exemplary, and have kept me playing for the past almost three years, a lot of it in Arcade Mode, in which the only reward is the race and maybe the replay. And playing GT5 when I could be playing that other game or a PC sim, because it's that good to me. I take heart in people who are sim racing fans, or even race cars in real life and say that the build of GT6 they got their hands on is satisfyingly close. All the other things like wonderful hints about the online system, articles about KW Suspensions testing system, potential of an Event Maker, possible Livery Editor, and the exciting details about Course Maker II among other things are inches more icing. Some things won't be there on day one? I'll be racing in the meantime. The rest of you... whatever.
You guys can dismiss all that if you want. I'm not really concerned with what you guys think or feel. Buy the game, don't buy the game, has nothing to do with anyone else. I'm happy, which is what really matters to me, and December 6 can't get here soon enough.
From what we've seen so far, everything is pointing in the right direction... sure, it seems Polyphony Digital is all over the map sometimes, now though, with additional partnerships with KW and Yokohoma, the single most important aspect to me, namely physics, are even closer to getting to where GT5 fell short, it's good to see PD are not at all turning this franchise into just popular semi-sim, they really want to do everything to get things accurate.
Then, not to mention the impressive number of companies wanting to work with them on this GT Vision Project, whatever that means, not sure if the end goals are to be exclusively in-game, but things like the GT Citroen for example (and numerous other collaborations with the auto-industry of course) show that PD love to work on things outside the game. 95%+ players might not care about all their side-ventures, but I love this about PD and I'm happy for them, because I know in one form or another the things they learn things, and find itself into the game. The one thing that always boggles my mind though... why don't they hire a few more people (I know they did over the last years), but they could really make more happen... overall I just love the professionalism of what PD do, unfortunately it hasn't completely transferred to the game. By GT7 I think it will though.
I'm definitely looking forward to the online changes they've made, the additional cars and tracks, and it will hopefully just be whole league better physics wise, that should prevent some of the ridicules ways cars can be driven. It looks like the it will take a lot of smoothness and finesse, with a much better feedback to let you know what's happening. I like what I've been reading... now I wish there wasn't this stupid month called November, it's like totally in the way.
Well for me it is easy. It is a new edition of one of the best driving/racing games out there and it works with my existing hardware. I pre-ordered on day 1 and am very much looking forward to getting behind the wheel.
I just hope they have a full leaderboard system this time as for me and my friends that was the most glaring omission from GT5 and made the game inferior to Forza in terms of continued play.
Alright my serious biggest reasons for wanting GT6:
- New cars to drive in GT (basically one main reason I play any new racing game, I am the Random Car Guy after all); there's also a couple cars that are being brought back to GT from the previous games that I'm excited to be able to drive again.
- The Physics in the GTA demo were great, I had fun in a Nissan Leaf even! Also, people have mentioned that the physics have gotten better in the later demos. So, I figure that the physics will make driving cars even more fun.
- The tracks, I'm really eager to try each of the new courses that were introduced into GT6 and try to see what courses now have day/night & weather cycles. I'm hoping Deep Forest is one of them.
Devil Z replica will be in GT6 for sure, I'll see to it One of the main reason I'm getting GT6, that car with the new physics on comfort soft, no ABS, battling at wangan
NEW races & Championships in Career mode!!! (and I hope a lot more then in GT5!)
also...new license tests!
There is no better feeling when you put your new Gran Turismo game in your console and start from scratch! You surf through the game, new menus, new Car dealership, new tuning mode, everything is new! Then, you buy yourself your first car and start from the 0.0% 👍
One big reason? I need more racing games to play on the systems I already have, especially since this console generation is coming to an end. As much as I would love to play Forza 5 and Driveclub, I'm not ready for them yet.
Yet another positive thread for gt6 turned into an argument. The pendulum swings both ways. Ten D posted his biggest reason for getting the game.... Some unnecessary responses were brought in which he quite eloquently addressed. I'm not afraid to say that I find it impartial that he would get that type of flack from a mod, but then again I'm just trying to drive & have fun so I don't have a dog in that fight.
I would post my opinions on the OP, but I'm not in the mood for debating back and forth about whos more "right" or "wrong" about an OPINION. Seeing that the thread is about the BIGGEST reason to get gt6, I would assume you would have to have one to begin with. Those who don't are just here to torment the people that still enjoy PD's work. That's what it all boils down to. Salute me or shoot me, I'm over warnings & bannings. This is getting out of hand.
- New tracks as Barthust or Apricot Hill
- SPA, Daytona and Autumn Ring with time change
- New cars with FIA GT3
- New physics
- No XP
- B-SPEC optional
- Online mode more full with qualification
- Technical over the top
- Standard compatible with tuning and photo mode
- A big editor race
- More....
The new physics engine looks pretty legit, so I'm excited to give that a try since I was late to the 2013 Academy party. Also, the new track creater has my attention. I hope it comes close to my expectations. If its a quality track creater it could add even more playtime to GT6

Where? I see a small essay either paying the same lip-service to the usual complaints about GT5, or complaining that other members haven't just shut up and continued playing the game for as long as he has. For someone who doesn't care what others think of the game, he certainly spends a long time complaining about just that, and this certainly isn't the first time. Pop singers have a wider range of subjects.

Considering the amount of times you've made similar comments to this one, I'd hardly say you don't. It's certainly not unreasonable to question the statement that GT6 will be the best GT to date; if that's simply by dint of it being the newest, does that mean GT5 was the best one to date? Because I think you'll find a lot of folks don't think so. Considering the possibility of numerous new features not even being on the disc at Day 1, I'd certainly entertain the argument it won't be the best one.

...would you prefer a thread titled "What is your biggest reason for not wanting GT6", that, by your logic, would have those who were planning on buying the game only taking part to rile up those that don't?
Someone questioned the logic of proclaiming an unfinished game the best in the series. That's hardly tormenting.
That's what it all boils down to. Salute me or shoot me, I'm over warnings & bannings. This is getting out of hand.
