Real: Honda NSX (18 months and counting)
Lottery: Aston Martin DB9

What, you meant your dream car isn't a nice shiny Mazda MX-6:eek: .

MX-6? Bleugh. Too much of a mix of hatch/coupe/saloon body styles. I prefer the mechanically-similar Ford Probe (V6 only though).

The MX-3 is not going. She'll be given to "me bird".

Nope, I just believe (and I'm not alone) that Audi have lost the way over the last decade.

A company that has produced some great drivers cars (and its driving more than the cars that floats my boat) moved more into the realm of image and straight line performance.

Even Audi themselves have admited that they need to look at engine placement to improve handling, the current 'forward of axle' approach places far to much weight on the front end, resulting in the heavy understeer characteristics that have dominated Audi's of late.

As I said, it's not a bad car by any means; just a major disapointment to me.

For example I love Caterhams; which puts me in the mad as cheese camp for a lot of people.

Personally I think this was crafted by gods own hand.

Well, my dream car is the R34. Some others are listed below. I also love Porsche Turbo, GT3, GT2, BMW M3, Audi S4, etc...

Subaru Impreza WRX STi WR1/22B
Mercedes Benz CL65 AMG/SL600
BMW M3/M5
Audi RS6

Am I capable of getting these cars? Hah, no, they're what dreams are made of.

PS. No bursting into any songs.

'03 Subaru Impreza WRX Sti
Nissan Skyline GTR R34
Nismo 400r
And some Holden/HSV's

That'll do for now

No, but the original Quattro (particularly the SWB version) and the RS2 handle better that the current models (again, in my opinion).

Just because a car is newer does not make it better as a drivers car.

For example

I'd rather take an Original Mini over the new model

Pug 205 GTi against the 206 Gti

Clio Williams against the Clio 172 or 182 (this one is damn close).

Now I'm not saying that all older cars are better drivers cars that newer ones, or that they are better cars full stop.

But I am saying that in my opinion certain older cars are better that the modern counterparts.

Evo (UK motoring mag) did a track comparison of the following cars:

Lotus Elan S2
Toyota MR2 (latest version)
Mazda MX5

As far as handling and lap times went the Elan wiped the floor with the more modern cars, however I know which I would rather be in during an accident and it is not the Elan.

I've got that mag, the new smart roadster was there too.
