What Is Your Favorite ''Classic'' Car?

so I was thinking, if you have too much wheelspin you either have too much power or too stiff a suspension, there are other ways to help wheelspin đź‘Ť Also, looking back maybe being allowed to put in actual race cars was a bit of a bad idea, they will decimate any road cars with race tyres on from that era, meaning you'd almost have to enter a race car to stand a chance in that category.

In some cases yeah, wheelspin can be dealt with by going softer, lengthening the gears, going with a more assertive diff setup, etc, but when dealing with classics, sometimes all of that still isn't enough even with only moderate power increases. Since the principle argument against them is aesthetics, which is a subjective matter for sure, and the competition would be to test the skill of tuning an entire package, I would tend to think wings, which are a legitimate tool used by race teams and street tuners alike every day, should be able to stay. Here's another possibility though - the further back in time you go, it seems the less likely it is that PD allows wing fitment. Maybe in the earliest, or perhaps earliest two divisions, where wings are a crapshoot, we could outlaw them. But again, this, along with the racecar issue (where I think I agree with you... gotta do some testing to bear that out) is definitely something to take input on once we know what's going on with the challenge itself.

The old school racecars don't have dink on downforce anyways; It'd be a pretty fair fight.

Yeah but you go and drive the GT40 and see if you can get much that handles better out of a road car, not likely to happen, even the C2 Corvette race car. The S800 race car would be fairly fair though.
