Welcome to GTPlanet, bud. I'm glad to see that you know how to go through threads fine, but just one thing: next time, try not to bring back a dead thread, meaning one that's been done for 4 months.

Well, poll is closed(and I see why), but yoyo is actually one of my favorite hobbies! I would rate myself a solid 2.0!

I can do black hops and for the most part everything under that on the ladder. Some above that too, but now many.

I have a Genesis, Supernova LiTE, Dark Magic Custom and a Speeder as my performance throws.

Ugh... I can wind it... and then unwind it... And then repeat that...
So cute :P
I'm glad you can wind it, I know a lot of people who cannot even do that!

Whoa 10 year thread unfreeze

I haven't played with a Yoyo in like 15 years, could do the cradle thing and walking the dog...

I used to have a duncan imperial (useless) and a duncan butterfly. The butterfly was more like a masochistic device. Sure, it was easy to do string tricks, but that thing snapped up hard and killed your hand, and if you screwed something up it also hurt like a mother.

Then came the sleeper yoyos. Kids at school would show off how long they could sleep their Yomega Fireballs and Brains. I felt like a dork with my Butterfly, so I went out and one-upped everyone with a Yomega Raider. I was the cool kid in school until the yoyo fad died off. I loved that Raider though. The only thing I didn't like was that it would camber over instead of spinning vertically. This would unsettle it and it often died in its sleep.

This is what my yoyo looks like back when I was a kid. We get this for free from exchanging coke bottle caps with "free yoyo" on it. We even coat some candle wax on the strings to make it snappy and and more durable.

Wouldn't coating it with wax just prevent/hinder the string from rolling back up into the reel/spool?

I could do maybe 2 or 3 loops around the world and walk the dog a couple feet...that maybe a 1.9 or a 2 ?

Thar is awesome!

I will rethink my skill level... 3.0!

Me? Whatever throwing it and getting tangled all up in itself would be scored.

I have a Duncan Special, which is really easy to get to grips with. Still like a weapon. I have a newer one with several clutch settings, and that one's hell.
