Last Boy Scout - One of my fav ever films this. Its not perfect and seems very cliche'd now. But Shane Black is always a genius writer & this film is hilarious. When Jo kills that guy by the pool is still my fav ever death, absolute class.
8/10

Back to Lucky Number Slevin. I think it helps when you see films like this at the cinema. More atmosphere & you get more involved in it. Different films are predictable to different people. I found the sixth sense predictable. I can see how you saw some of it coming. But the twist with the cop at the end was brilliant. I don't think anyone saw that coming.

I think everyone who watches lost has some thoughts on what the hells going on. All i know is, its getting to blatantly obvious that its full of filler & starting to get irritating, last nights one was good though (next week is the last 2 of season2 in UK).

No, I figured it out. I can't tell it to you though, because as soon as it's out on the internet, producers of the show will be forced to change the storyline into something silly!

I agree on the slow pace of the Season 2. It did get really good in the final disc on the DVD though(last 3 episodes).

Saw 'The Children of Men' tonight, have to say it's a very good film with a excellent performance from Clive Owen. The only downer was the ending, it's too abrupt, maybe it's a cliffhanger but geeze, it comes from nowhere!!

I give it 8/10. Highly enjoyable, different outlook on the future of the world. Just a shame about the ending..

Saw Jackass 2. OMG!! it was soooo funny. So many great scenes. One of my favorites was when they opened the parachute while the swamp boats were running.

Severance - I love a good ol' English film. We make some truelly ace comedies, horrors or horror/comedies. But this wasn't that good. I was sucked in by the hype of this & it didn't deleiver. As a horror its very good, so really good/horrorific scenes. But as a comedy it just wasn't that funny.

I've never really liked Danny Dyer, which might not have helped (although i loved The Business). There was the odd chuckle, but thats about it.
6/10

De-Railed - As i (may) have mentioned before i'm quite good at guessing "twists" & this was no exception. It has a good premise to it & is good alot of the time. But thats it, its just good, never more. Clive Owen is better than the rest of the cast, especially Vincent Cassel, who seemed really camp. I know he is French, but his accent seemed fake! Weird. I liked the line near the end "I chose this (spoiler, wont say the rest)" was very good. very average thriller.

Saw Battle Royale for about the 15th time couple of days ago, incase you haven't heard of it, here's the plot.

Based around the year 2000, Japan's social order has fallen apart, schoolkids are skipping lessons, adults are consistantly under attack and unemployment is on the rise (Kinda sounds like the UK today, I know.). So the governement has implemented a new law in order to try and disapline the youth, the "BR Act" where a chosen 9th grade class is pitted against one another in a kill or be killed type television show.

Doesn't exactley sound compelling eh? Well it's not what you'd expect, of course there is blood and guns and schoolgirls surviving 20 odd bullets but hey, that's Japan. What you do find though, under all the carnage is some great acting from young actors. The story has an emotional side as you see loved ones, best friends and bullys all fall short of the stick. The twist at the end is confusing but smart and all in all, if you can withstand all the bang bang your dead action, your left with a very nice, well acted movie that demands your attention.

Although the original plot leaves alot to be desired, I'd give this 10/10. 👍 Pick it up if you can.

Severance sounds interesting. I had never heard of it. Derailed was way too predictable. At least Clive Owen and Jennifer Anniston are very entertaining to watch. Vincent Cassell, I've been a fan of, since the "Brotherhood of the Wolves". I thought he made the movie interesting.....

I watched the first one on youtube.com. Not exactly legal, but it's not my fault that the studio doesn't have it released on DVD in the U.S. Their loss.

I thought the first one was pretty good. It's a campy movie, and makes absolutely no sense. But I remember thinking that if the plot actually made any sense, it could've been a classic. Not a cult classic that it is now, but a real classic.

I couldn't agree more with your "hey, that's Japan" comment. I am a huge fan of Japanese films(I wonder how that happened  ), but the Japanese movie industry rarely produce anything of a quality anymore.

Last good Japanese film I've watched was, "Nobody Knows". Now that was good. If anyone's in a mood for good quality Japanese film that doesn't waste your time, I'd suggest renting this one. :)

Yeah I've watched Derailed a couple of months ago, I noticed what was going on but I thought they wouldn't be that obvious. Still a good movie overall.

I also watched Domino just before but I didn't like it much.

Battle Royale is an emensely good movie. Everyone should try and see it, especially as its now on Film4 alot. I watched about 30 mins of it part of the way in, i really need to watch it again fully.

Severance is basically Dog Soldiers. But with humans instead of werewolves, knowhere near as funny, or scary, or well made, or acted.

The main "twist" in De-railed i guessed before the film started, i couldn't beleive it was that obvious. It's like The Village, still watchable, just not as clever as it tries to be.

just saw lucky number slevin, too. absolutely brilliant, didn't see a thing coming so i was pretty shocked when the fairy got shot.
thats just my thing, right there with revolver and lock, stock...

We just got done watching "The Final Countdown".
It's about WW2, and this ship go though this portel like thing that put them back in 1941. Or some crazy thing like that. Just before the attack on pearl harbor. Cool movie, I liked it.:D

I have the "Final Countdown" on DVD. I thought it was OK, but it was a lot better when I first watched it when I was a kid. :D

We watched "Childeren of men" Friday night and we're watching "Click" tonight.

I'll let you know what it's like tonight, if I can be bothered doing a review. I couldn't be bothered doing one for childered of men, good film though, Clive Owen was in good form but a couple of the twists were textbook so you wern't suprised by them and the ending was a bit sudden.

I cant beleive Hoodwinked has only just come out in England, how long ago was this out in cinema's in America??

Watched Heat last night. Still an epic movie. IT's still far to long, and the end is a little pap, but that gunfight is stil absolutely amazing. I wish i could've seent that at the cinema.
8/10

I always thought Heat would have been better if they both killed each other at the end, but I don't think it's too long. But I like long movies.

It's been on DVD for at least 6 months now.

Watched X-Men 3 a couple more times with some friends last night. Decent, but where the heck was the continuity editor? If I'd say some of the things I saw, I'd spoil the movie, but I just have to say that for a production in a franchise this big...how do you miss details that are so painfully obvious?
3/5

Thank You for Smoking
was decent. There was some rather witty dialouge and hits the mark for a comedic satire.
4/5

Click was alright at best. It had some funny moments and a funny yet somewhat sappy story. I'd compare it to Benchwarmers: amusing but immature and overall dissapointing.
2/5

Click was funny but not great, it got a bit depressing near the end though. I was thinking "is this not meant to be a comedy" at one point, the ending was kind of obvious and they re-used too many jokes through the film but it was worth a watch.

The Ringer - I didn't think this would be that good, but i really liked it. Its not up to Dumb & Dumber or Something about Mary standards of Farely brothers, its more Stuck On You. But it dosent last 2 hours like that did & i quite liked the sentimentle bits, it worked better than in Stuck On You.
The humour is mostly very stupid, but thats fine by me. The bit in confession was classic. Sometimes you feel guilty about laughing, but mostly its Johnny Knoxville being abused, so thats Ok to laugh at.
7/10

In Click i loved those lines on the radio about Britney Spears & Micheal Jackson, they were classic. Oh and the bit where the kid got hit with the baseball, very immature, but damn hilarious!

I agree on the Ringer. My favorite part was the part when the boyfriend brings back everybody late, and when the girl confronts him, he claims that they just stopped by for some ice cream. Then one of the guys yell, "when in the XXXX did we get ice cream!". Glen was funny, too. "Hi, my name is Glen!".

Lake House. It's a new movie my aunt wented to see, so she got.
It's ok, if your in to love and kind a mistery.(did I spell that right?)
It's about two people who met and hes two years in the past(2004) and she is in the presnt(2006). It waird at first, but ok as you go in to it more.

I just saw lucky number sleven. :) it was pretty good. not once during the movie did i ever feel bored and look away from the screen. there was a very good pace to the movie. the twists were a bit predictable but overall it was very well made.

I saw the Grudge 2 last night and I thought it was ok, it did have scary parts, though I really don't get scared anymore because I more or less know what's gonna happen, but this movie made me jump a couple of times. I'm not saying anything else because I want you guys to go see it.

My score: 7 / 10

Ciao!
