Played guitar for 18 years! Nothing serious, must just for fun! Like to freak out with the drums too! :dopey:
Also did some singing and bas work when i was in a band-- a long long time ago!

Play Drums, guitar , ( bass and regular ), Sax ( all of them - so fun ) and currently working with some rednecks to learn how to play the Jug and Spoons

i play piano, guitar, and percussion. i also do voice and whistling...they are instruments too...but as for singing, its choral junk for the most part....but i can do some kickass satanic cookie monster style stuff. lmao.

Well im also asian( Filipino/Chinese) i do play piano but im on and off. i dont have a piano, thats why im on and off. i go to my cousin's house to play.i can play Moonlight Sonata Movement 1/ First movement. I would like to learn the second but i really want to learn the Third.

I play Alto Sax as my main. Good to hear another Sax player around - millencollin. Been playing 10 years, half my life therefore. Played in a variety of bands, toured over Europe, supported Marion Montgomery and Laurie Holloway twice (both famous jazz musicians.. well not Marion anymore RIP) (oh and Rolf Harris, but i've let that thought leave my mind now) and passed grade 8 (highest UK student grade).

As part of the bands i've played in i've performed on Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Baritone saxes and been lead sax in all. Many of the members in the bands i played in have gone on to perform in the UK Youth Jazz Orchestra placing them as the some of the top youth performers in the country (i.e. under 30). I however didn't persue a career in music, but followed one of computing.

Aside from Sax, i've played drums for 5 years, piano for 6 and guitar for 2. I enjoy sax the most, followed by guitar (acoustic) on which i can play a mean rendition of Nothing Else Matters by Metallica and many RHCP numbers, best of all Funky Monks.

I don't know if I should be saying this, cus he's kind of shy about it. But Klostrophobic plays an excellent skin flute!

It's breath taking.
I'm not sure I like the "sound" of that...

I play the guitar for about 10 years now. I played in two bands, but nothing serious. Pure amateurism, but I love it.

I regret now that I refused my parents attempts to make me learn the piano.:dunce:

I'd like to play the piano, the drums and saxophone.

They're cheap instruments which can be carried around with no problems and it's easy to learn a few chords.

Also, I guess there is a "coolness" factor associated with a guitar player which normally attracts many kids into it.

ouch ;)...easy to learn...guitar is one of the hardest instruments to learn to play correctly. I'd say piano or keyboard was harder. Ok you can knock up a couple of chords in a month or two, but check out my links above :) If you can play my Midnight tune in less than a year, I will kiss your royal butt

There are people in this thread that have been playing guitar for years and they admit themselves that they are still no good. Guitar takes YEARS to learn.
As for coolness..well maybe yes, it has that image, but if you want to be "cool" learn to play the saxophone.

yeah. guitar does take a while to learn. i've been playing it for about 3 years and i'm by no means good. guitar is my third instrument though. bass is first then drums. the chords aren't too hard but all that soloing is pretty hard. especially when you're used to a thicker neck of a bass.

You're missing my point. :)

What I meant was that it is easy to start playing the guitar. You learn a couple of chords in a few days and you can make a party using just 4 chords!
That, along with the "coolness" factor (which exists; you can't deny it), attracts many people to playing the guitar.

Now, do you see where I'm getting at? Even if only 5% of those kids decide they want to really learn how to play and stick to it, still you'll have a lot of guitar players.

Of course being a good guitarist - even a average one - takes ages. In fact, there isn't a perfect guitarist; there's always space for improvement.

EDIT: Oh, and really nice tunes you have there. Congratulations. 👍

Oh, my butt ain't royal, and you don't want to kiss it!

Seriously, that was a nice tune. I have some questions for ya, if you don't mind answering.

Did I hear an octave pedal? Or, was it a harmonizer?

You sure are in love with your delay in that other tune, huh? What delay processor was that? It sounded kinda thick.

What guitar were you using? It sounded like a Gibson 335, or something similar. The neck pickup for the clean stuff, and bridge for the dirty?

What drum machine are you using, and did the bass line come with it? Or, did you record the bass guitar line yourself?

Good stuff, dude. 👍

I've got the same, a black and white Fender Stratocaster except I bought mine new in 2003.

I also have a black and white stratocaster, although it used to be blue. :)

Duuude thats awesome. what kind is it and how much did you pay for it?

It is actually a Squier Affinity Strat that I bought from a friend for $30. He had bought it a couple years ago to learn how to play guitar, but never stuck with it and it sat in his basement. I asked him if he'd let me turn it into Eddie's frankenstrat from the Van Halen I era and he didn't want me to. After about a month, he gave it to me for $30. I have a friend that owns a body shop, so all the paint was free, I just masked it. Bought a pickguard from Warmoth and a Dimarzio PAF pro is connected directly to the volume pot. The pickup alone made the guitar sound really good, but it is still a $120 Squier. I wanted to make it more for the novelty than to actually play it. Overall, I have about $150 invested in it.

Here is a pic of Eddie's actual guitar before it was painted with a coat of red.

That's good stuff!
I've played guitar since I was 11. That's around 20 yrs. Owned several guitars from a cheap Fender copy to my current Ibanez. I should play more but I just don't have the time.
Been playing keyboards for about 10 yrs I guess. Only because I wanted to learn the piano part of Layla!!

I play Keyboards, Piano, Drums, Harmonica, Guitar and Trombone...

I picked up how to play these instruments by myself...except the Keyboards and Piano.

I am 15yrs old, and have been playing the Piano for 9yrs. I am on the official Grade 7 of 8, as judged by the Royal Education Board of Music in the UK.

I know many tunes, including the whole Piano section of 'Layla', and also very roughly on Guitar...
