wowww alot of people have fenders here. I play the a Jackson guitar. It's black and wasn't that expensive. I was looking for a cheap guitar and my friend recommended this. I also have a MG15DFX Marshall Amp.

I;m still a noob:)

I play in my school orchestra.

Ive played Viola for about 5 years now.

This past year twords the end of the year, a lot of people switched instruments with each other for the day, so i got a chance to play cello (sucked), and a little violin (also sucked), even though I can play violin a little bit, but nothing special.

In a few years, when i get the money, i will start to play guitar.

Since it's been revived:

I play both bass and a little bit guitar.

Basses:

- Westone Spectrum Series II 4-string fretless bass
- SX Vintage Jazz Bass 4-string

I would buy a Fender Precision or Jazz bass or a Warwick any time but it all cost a lot of money :indiff: But I'm very happy with these two, the Westone gives a great sound for some jazz while I use the SX the most, gives enough sound to have a nice time playing 👍

Guitar:

I don't play guitar that much so I bought a cheap, Fender Stratocaster based model to learn it. Goes quite good. I currently play some Pink Floyd songs, mostly the chords only, some Feeder or some songs of The Levellers 👍

I recently started playing the harmonica, it's a Lee Oskar. Other then that I still rock out on the bass when I have time.

I used to play the guitar and keyboard, now I play nothing. I was never much good at either tbh, I preferred the guitar though.

Bass for me. I'm OK for a year and a half but I could be a lot better. I'm trying to get a teacher at the moment and with a couple of books (The Hal Leonard Bass Music Theory book, and the Jazz Piano Book) I'm trying to teach my self some music theory. This coming school year I hope to learn the Upright. I look at the piano every now and then, though I don't play it. Thinking about it, maybe I'll get a degree in bass playing/jazz performance etc. sometime in the future.

I play the EUPHONIUM!

'nuff said.

I play tuba.
Sorry, but TUBAS put the euphs in their place.

Don't get me wrong: a band or corps is garbage without euphs & baris, but they'd be worse off without tubas.

It don't matter how bada$$ your third euph is, there's no real bottom-end without tubas. Except if there's a hoard of string basses. But that's an exception.

But lowbrassmen shouldn't bicker amongst themselves. What would a band be without a lowbrass section?

Sort of...I used to play tuba, but gave up on it to focus more on the bass. our school band is awefully small, the admin loving the jazz band but unwilling to help out - But back to our small band... no tubas...marching band... no trombones... marching band... But we have an awesome drumline [quality not size] and one Bass. ( + 2 trumpets, 3 sax's) yet we still hold up pretty good.

Hmm haven't posted in here since 2004, and it's time to update. I have stopped playing piano or take lessons, but I have picked up a guitar about 2 years ago and still play guitar frequently. I've also picked up a harmonica and have taught myself to play it aswell. I think there are pics of my guitars in another musical instrument thread in here...I've got a black Fender Stratocaster knockoff(an old crap pic of it in my avatar....), an old mid 70's Fender Telecaster knockoff that I plan to completely customize when I have time and money(strip the paint, repaint it black, custom pick guard, custom pickups and so on...) and last but not least is the guitar I play all the time, an all black Epiphone DR-100 acoustic that I just love to play.

This is my first post in over a year. I have a cheap Fender knockoff P-bass. I've been playing for about a year now. I use Ernie Ball Hybrid Slinkys. I liked it so much that after about 2 months I bought an effects pedal and bigger combo for it. The pedal is a Boss ME-50B, if anyones lookin at multieffects pedals I can say this one is pretty dang good. The combo is a Fender Rumble 100 15". It's been a really great practice combo. I use Monster cables on everything. They seem to be about the best made cable you can get. I highly recommend them. I'm lookin to get a jazz bass next. What jazz bass do you guys like in the $250-$300 range and do you have a favorite string?

I have a ME-50 pedal, the guitar version of yours. 👍 As far as a favorite string, I like B. I bend that string more than the High E. Kind of a funny question.

I've been playing the Cello for five years. As some of you know from one of my previous threads and my avatar.

I didn't realize how old this thread was.. hehe.

I've always been on the "cheap" end of guitars, largely due to not having a lot of money to throw at the hobby at the moment. Right now I've got a Squier Stratocaster, but the six-string has always been second fiddle (excuse the pun) to the bass. Which I finally picked back up again the other day when I got my Ibanez GSR190, one of their "Jumpstart" guitars (similar to the Squier line, I suppose, but it's all kept under the same brand name, so you can't tell by the name alone that it's a low-end guitar). Besides, I needed an amp, so it made sense to buy it all in one box.. hehe.

I've been playing quite a bit the last couple of days, but now that the weekend is here, I played for several hours straight this morning. And holy crap, do I need my callouses back. My fingers have been sore all day, and I haven't touched the thing in about six hours. That may not be entirely my fault, though.. I think the truss rod needs adjustment, as the strings are a little too far away from the neck, especially towards the body. That means more pressure required to fret them. It's got a decent sound to it, but it's not perfect. The jazz pickup has some noticeable hum when it's turned up. Not a high-end guitar by any stretch, but it looks nice, and I'll probably keep it even after I pick up a few more guitars down the line. Next up will probably be a Fender J-bass, then I hope to be ready to jump up to fretless.

I have a long way to go, but I'm surprised at how little I've forgotten, even without playing for over ten years. I've only had this bass for three days, and you'd think I've been practicing for months. I've gone through entire songs already.. hehe.

One thing I did forget, was how good it feels to really be playing again. With my Strat, I never did more than pluck out a few tunes now and again, never even any complete songs. But I'm really getting into it now that I've got a bass again, and it feels damn good. Can't believe I waited this long to get back into it.

#67 is a lovely post that summarizes the stories of many reborn guitarists.

I play the guitar as my primary instrument; before this I touched on bass, drums, piano, and even clarinet (now my regret). My guitar is a Yamaha Pacifica which, while certainly not very high-end, is still solid and something I scored for free from my older brother.

Jedi2016,
Hit your local Wal-Mart and pick up a couple of bottles of Witch Hazel in the pharmacy dept.
Get a small bowl and fill it with some Witch Hazel, deep enough to soak your finger tips.
That will take a good bit of the sting out of them.

Guitar (acoustic/electric), fretted bass and a little bit keyboards.

Violin is very different to me because it is frettless and tuned in fifths. And actually most violin players that I know don't sound very good because they constantly are a a bit off, but experienced violin players can sound very good indeed!

Electric and Acoustic guitar. I also play bass, but haven't in over a year. Long story short, my friend's bass was stolen, so I gave him mine.

Main instrument is bass (which is trully the King of Instruments! :)) and predominantly fretless but I can get by pretty well on rhythm guitar & drums :)

Few things sound as good as a bass played on a tube amp with mids up and playing close to the bridge, which brings rich harmonics.

You're kidding me right? This is just annoying, they have all these instruments in the options but it lacks what most bands that have any recognition has... A vocalist, and there isn't an option for it. :grumpy: So I can't vote because my main instrument isn't there.

I play the violin myself. Played it for 8 years, but haven't touched it in the past couple of years.

On the other hand, it has the triangle, Yo!
