What Phone Do You Have?

I had an S4 for ages, great phone until I dropped it one too many times and damaged the sim card reader. I've got an S7 Edge now, another great phone in my opinion. I don't think the Edge is worth the price difference to buy but if you can get a good contract it might be worth thinking about. Mine was only £1 per month more and £10 up front over the normal S7.

Guess Google is going to release another version of the Pixel later this year with Android 8.0 (Oreo Cream Cake)

At the "premium" price again. So expect another 600+ $

It's either Oreo Cream Cake or I have seen Oreo Chocolate Cake.
So I would assume it's Oreo Something Cake?

Could be...all we know is it's Android O. Last year we thought N was going to be Nutella.

However after those Oreo cake tweets from Upper management...

I would think if they want to call it Oreo they'd have to come to terms with Nabisco, since it's their trademark. I believe all previous names were "generic" sweets, no brand names. I expect that would continue.

Somehow "Orange" or "oatmeal cookie" just doesn't cut it, though.

K was KitKat, there was something about trademarks involved in using it.

But to answer the question, Sony Xperia Z5 Compact, one of the last examples in Finland before they sold out in preparation for the arrival of the X Compact. I wanted a phone that fits in a pocket easily, has "full power" hardware instead of being watered down at the time of being shrunk and has an IP rating. Nothing else could match the requirements.

Samsung Galaxy S6.

Absolutely hate the phone, will probably never buy another Samsung related product ever. Crap battery life, heats up like a spot heater with prolonged use, and generally isn't a good phone in my experience.

I don't think it'll be Oreo. Google dropped hints about Android "M" being "Milkshake" and "N" being "Nutella", but they ended up being "Marshmallow" and "Nougat". It'll most likely be some obscure sweet that barely anyone's heard of.

Yeah they're notorious for this issue. The Snapdragon processor was not optimised for the phone. Still remained an issue after countless updates.

If you can, get your hands on an S7 with the Exynos processor.

Or, if you're a hardcore Android user and have spare change, a lot of it, get the Google Pixel XL. It does it all, from software to hardware. It's currently the best phone you can buy.

@TJ13 didn't they say they will support XL for two years and after that it's no guarantees? I'm sure the current XL will get the 8.0 update.

Yes.

Pixel phones get Android version updates for at least 2* years from when the device became available on the Google Store. After 2 years, we can't guarantee additional updates.

So that would be *October of 2018.

Basically it would be
Android O
Android P

Should be interesting what P would be.

IIRC the S6 only had the Exynox processor. The performance problems are most likely due to TouchWiz.

I disagree about the Pixel, I feel that it's the most overrated Android on the market. It's missing features that other devices in the same price range have (SD card slot, water resistance).

Yes you're right. I'm thinking of the rumour that spread right before launch.

As for Pixel, in terms of sheer operating power and hardware, it's the best.

The way it stores memory is second to none, there's no bloat ware, the camera is much much better than the S7 or the iPhone 7 since it's a Sony lens.

Water resistance... maybe in the 2.0 version. Same thing for the SD slots.

Thing with androids though is that you may have a phone in your hands advertised as the best phone of the year, but then suddenly it's swept from underneath you in the following months with a new phone from another company..

So with the latest rumors of Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 have kinda surfaced with the "look alike" of the iPhone 7 without the headphone jack.

Still remaining "premium"

Will know more at Googles I/O in May.

Recently I like China brands, like Meizu or Xiaomi, prices really affordable. Last year I bought M3note for less than 200 bucks. And now I think to switch to the updated M5.

Yesterday I ordered the Umidigi Z pro at GearBest.. hopefully I'll receive it at the end of this week.

Specs..

Dual camera (2x 13mp) Really looking forward to it.. Not only the camera specs, but also the USB type C and better bluetooth specs compared with my current phone, Huawei p8 lite.

Lenovo Motorola Moto G4 Plus 64GB.

Big fan. Really like the lack of bloatware, turbo charging, camera and battery life. Good price too.

I don't have a moblie/cell phone. I've never had one, & never want to either. I hate the blasted things!

:grumpy:

Since my Galaxy S3 died close to Christmas in 2016, I've been running an LG G5.

I wanted something a bit left-field but still be up amongst the powerful Galaxys and iPhones.

I've had my OnePlus Two for about 2 years now and I still love it. I haven't experienced any problems with it even though it's rooted and I've done some stuff with it. It is still as fast as it was brand new.

Well Android O is now out. (For testing)

For people on the Pixel/Nexus can test it.

I've been using a Galaxy S4 Mini for the last three years, and to be honest I'm thinking of upgrading soon. Maybe get an S6 or S7..

As mentioned in the "Show off your latest purchase" thread, I replaced my cheap-o Alcatel with an LG Grace and for $100, it's quite lovely.

Most of my phone history is forgettable, so I'll say I've jumped from Jelly Bean to KitKat to Lollipop back to Jelly Bean to Nougat.
