Formula One, obviously.
I would suggest using all available F1 tracks, or tracks which have been used for F1, including Cote de Azure, Suzuka, Fuji, and the real number of laps, eg Monaco, 78 laps.
I suppose the best way to do it would be time trial, then the winner is the person to complete the required laps in the fastest time.

As for rally, it could either be the fastest single lap, or the highest drift score on the off-road tracks, and some road tracks, like Citta Di Aria and Costa De Amalfi.

78 laps? Good luck with that!

Have you guys every tried pausing the game and turning off your PSP then start it up again and your still at the same screen and the game starts back up from where your at. Thats the best way to finish long endurance if you do them. You can take the race in little stints at a time than constantly racing a whole 30 or so lap race.

There's no way I'd tie up my PSP and all my free time doing 78 laps on the same course. It would be much more palatable if we had tire-wear and a need to strategize our pit stops, but we don't have that added factor.

The races will only be 15-20 minutes in length(on average).

Edit: Since it appears that JGTC is the winner I will begin sorting things out(cars, schedule, rules etc.). I should have it all sorted out by the end of the week.

Races are held as part of a yearly series. I am just curious since you know some what of Super GT. Why do you have GT 300 cars posted under GT 500 League? Seems like random cars are being throw in this list for some odd reason. D1GP cars, random tuner cars which aren't even in Super GT. This list needs to be edited.

Well there was a Mclaren in JGTC but correct me if I am wrong there hasn't been one since JGTC was switched over to Super GT.

You can use any of the approved cars, it doesn't matter if someone else is using it. You will be able to call dibs on car numbers when the sign-ups start, which will probably happen this weekend when the first exhibition starts.

Not to mention the rally cars. Anyways, that isn't an official list of the cars that will be allowed. I am currently working on the official list.

Why don't we just allow the cars that say (JGTC) in the name? There are at least 25-30 of them in this game. That would be, in my opinion, sufficient and fair to all.

At least OP knows whats up :) Thanks Justin

@ Detroitbb

That would be a good choice but considering that there are only I believe 4 GT 300 cars and people who would want to run in that league would be worried about pushing days forward so they can get the certain cars they want to run with. Luckily after spending 1 day of Ad Hoc racing on the Ring. I managed to pick up 6 of the JGTC cars that are my favorite so I am ready for GT500 :)

Can we also just pick our sponsor name/Team name just for fun?

I see what you mean... I just went through the list and there are only five GT300 cars (I currently have two; plus I have three GT500 cars). I would assume that 4WD/AWD cars wouldn't be allowed as they weren't in JGTC, right?

That is a good starting point but there are several GT race cars and Touring Cars that seem to fit the parameters, so far most have been placed with the GT300 cars.

Sure.

I am still debating it, so far the only non JGTC car that fit's the rules and is AWD is fairly slow when compared to other GT300 class cars(I am still testing other cars not listed as JGTC). This is of course subject to change as I have only done speed tests thus far.

"You will be able to call dibs on car numbers when the sign-ups start, which will probably happen this weekend when the first exhibition starts." What day and time will that be announced.??

Not sure yet, probably Sunday as I have to work Saturday.

Edit: there will also be an open test session when I post the registration thread. This event is not mandatory. This is basically for me to work out any kinks before the season starts.

I was thinking like 25-30 mile sprint races for each track. Thats around 20-25 minutes or so. Depending on the track chosen.

Let's Get the Show on the Road....! I'm in for the Le mans series...I know it should be long...circucit de la sarthe de sarth old is only 8.44 miles long and that would be a 3 lap race and i was thinking more like..10 lap/34mins .I like your idea..

You do know that Justin won't have this ready till at least Sunday he stated earlier. Be patience, you do understand it takes more time then you think to setup on these challenges for us.

hi all
Just to help a little with this series setup, I tried to edit a little the car list posted a few days ago. I sorted out a list of in-game "JGTC" tagged cars, and then added a few possible add-ons loosely based on power considerations.

--- Disclaimer : these are just suggesitons made to help Jusitn, and by no way should this be considered an official car list for this series ---

As it turns out, we have 6 GT300 and 18 GT500 cars ... the latter sporting only 4 different models ( NSX, Z, GT-R and Supra ) and many sponsor variants.
I've been testing 5 different NSX with laptimes on Autumn Ring, Deep Forest and Grand Valley, and I noticed that the first 5 NSX listed do have some power and handling differences, so it's really not the same car with different textures.

Following are the possible add-ons, which include a few old rally cars that may fit in the GT300 category, as well as DTM/Touring and LM cars that may concur in the GT500. I surely forgot a whole bunch of similar cars, but this could be considered as a starting point.

GT500 possible add-ons

Mitsubishi FTO Super Touring Car
Abt Audi TT-R Touring Car '02
Audi A4 Touring Car '04
BMW M3 GTR Race Car '01
Mercedes-Benz CLK Touring Car '00
RX-8 LM Edition ('01)
RX-7 LM Edition ('01)
Opel/Vauxhall Astra Touring Car (Opel Team Phoenix) '00
Opel/Vauxhall Calibra Touring Car '94

GT300 possible add-ons

Clio Sport V6 24V Race Car ('00)
S2000 LMRace Car ('00)
Peugeot 206 Rally Car ('99)
Subaru IMPREZA Rally Car ('99)
Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI Rally Car ('99)
Toyota Altezza Touring Car

To be honest i'm quite doubtful regarding the LM-labeled cars, I don't know if it's my ( oh so approximative ) driving style, but I tired both the Mazda RXs LM and they usually get a little faster than all other tested contenders.

So, these where my 2c contributions and suggesions ... as with tyres and drive aids, it's just my opinions and I think the series will be fun anyway, either with R1 R3 TCS ASM, and JGTC-only or mixed-touring cars :)
( well ... as long as races wont last hours and physics are professional :ouch:)

@ gz

I agree with your GT300/500 lists but I disagree with your addon lists. Adding different cars which don't even run in Super GT would in my opinion ruin the factor of even calling this a JGTC League. If you wanted to add those in as well, it would be more like the GT World Championship @ the end of GT4 or something.

I know the S2000, Impreza, Lancer and Altezza all run in the Super Taikyu series in Japan. Also throwing in DTM cars would throw off the balance because I know for a fact that the Calibra Touring Car is fast as heck I doubt the NSX's would even stand a chance against it.

well, how can I not agree with that ? 👍
imho a JGTC legaue could be set just relying on the JGTC labeled cars, free tyres choice and no drive aids allowed.

still, considering this is my personal taste and might not be the best for everyone, I tried to figure how to give Justin a hand with that :
I mean, just by posting the lists, we will gather a few comments and he will know what are the interested players preferences :)

anyway, I hope I'm not doing anything wrong with that, and I'm glad the first comment goes in the JGTC-only direction ;)
