That is a 32". TV sizes can be deceiving depending on what else is around them, etc, but that is almost definitely a 32. Even if it isn't a 32, that is what I would recommend for a set up like that anyway.

You can get a 32 inch Vizio (great brand) for pretty cheap too.

Speaking of 32 inch tvs....I bought mine in June 2008, it cost me 700 (was 750 but I traded in items)....and now it's 400-450!

Ugh...depreciation rates kill me.

My 46" was $1400 on black friday 2008, $900 now. Now I can get a newer model 60" for the same price.

I have a Pioneer 42" plasma HD TV and Acer 26" Full HD tv for PC, and i think use my Acer 26" Full HD tv, and wait one year maybe for buy 3D TV and other sound system.

The important is not tv size it's quality picture (low latence, pure black, ect.) so for me the 26" full HD at 2ms at 60cm from my playseat it's perfect.

Thanks everyone. Also, in my searching for a TV, the majority I have found (within my price range) are 50hz. Now I assume GT runs at above 50hz so would it still be playable through a 50hz TV?

Didn't know t.v.'s outside the states had different hz ratings. Here we have 60, 120, and some that are higher.

But to your question: Don't worry bout it. Though having higher definitely couldn't hurt.

Just find a good deal and I would seriously recommend Vizio (if it's an option). They use many of the same parts as the other guys, but get them cheaper because the distributors have stock in the company. Talking about an ingenious business model...

If you have pal version of the game and console at least, game will run in 50Hz in SD mode via Scart. HD is always 60Hz in games. Hz ratings above 50/60Hz do not really have anything to do with frequencies it can take.(100/120 and 200/240 Hz are made internally from 50/60Hz to beef up the motion resolution and will add input lag)

Just a use a 30 inch PC monitor with a fast refresh rate, a fair bit cheaper than a quality TV. They accept HDMI these days
And the text and image quality is probably going to be better

If the TV you are buying is "HD Ready" or whatever the similar branding is in Australia, then you will be fine. For the purposes of gaming, forget the marketing gimmicks like 100/120Hz.

Agree..

I bought my 40" bravia christmas 08' 1200 euros and it's only HD ready....and now you can find 42" LG Full HD for only 450 euros...:grumpy:

I was buying my Pioneer for Football World cup 2006 and he's HD (bot Full HD) and games'r very beautifull on it, but sure the Full HD is most impressive now.

The price down quickly, and the diference between tv too, the choise is very large and it's good. I think Arround 26" to 40" full hd and very low latence with 200hz can be so nice for GT5 and other games, the 3D is later for démocratisation price and more powerfull nice 3D technologie.

Thanks everyone, was just worried upon seeing the TV marked as a "50hz".

And even if the TV has 100/200 Hz, you wont be using that anyway because it adds lag in many cases. I have a Sony 40" and I shut every image enhancing feature of and put the TV in gaming mode. I got mine fairly cheep the, set cost €1600 when they released it in FEB -09 and when I got it Nov -09 I "only" payed €800 for fairly good gaming TV.

I bought my 40" Sony V4000 for only £599 in Xmas 08 because I luckily snapped up this offer whilst they were trying to remove excess stock.

Speaking of TVS just been on the phone to Sony and the 3DTVS will be coming to the UK in June and we shall also have an update in June for our PS3s so they are ready for 3D. Apparently a 60" 3DTV will cost over £3000!

As I said in another thread the combination of these 3DTVs with the PS3 update makes me wonder if GT5 will be released very soon afterwards. Makes perfect business sense to coincide the release of both because this will show the capabilities of the PS3 & Sonys 3DTVs. Poor old MS are going to wonder what hit them this summer!

I would suggest you to get a Sony Bravia 37" FULL HD (1920x1080) and an HDMI cable. Thats the dream of every gamer, and that dream is in my HOUSE!!!! However, you could wait a little while for the LX series (the 3D Bravias) for the ultimate gt5 experience (provided the game is in 3d)
