LFO - LFO 1989
If you like this try Plaid, I've see him live at an Auxilec gig in leicester. Also Autecher too, but that stuff is definatly allot harder than this.
Now you're getting into my territory. I guess you could say IDM but fans of that genre hate the term for it's pretentiousness. These are just some acts I listen to that have been pushing the boundaries of electronica.
Plaid's pretty good. They have a really accessible sound compared to a lot of other acts; and it's a lot more beat driven than most. I would definitely give the album Spokes a try.

Yeah,
Autechre is damn good. Their music is quite intimidating considering the sound of each of their albums. Their earlier work is a lot easier to get into; more melodic and slightly ambient. From there it turned into a glitcher, noisier, more complex sound. Their level of complexity and attention to detail blows my mind. I suggest getting LP5.
Boards of Canada is hands down my favourite. Their sound is completely different from anything I've heard before. It may sound like your typical ambient type tracks with bassy(?) beats underneath but there's so much more. There's a feeling of atmosphere and place that these songs create through the level of 'nostalgia' they create in their sounds. A lot of my pictures match up to their songs. If anything try and get The Campfire Headphase; I guarantee everyone in this thread that they will enjoy it.
Kid for Today
Peacock Tail
Squarepusher is insane. I can't even describe his works. They're so varied in genres. He's also one of the worlds greatest bass players.
Tundra
Beep Street
There are other artist. I know some of you might be thinking, where's Aphex Twin? I still haven't gotten to familiarize myself with his works but I'm working on it. I'll make another post soon with some nice melodic ambient type stuff, and not your usual lounge **** either.
