I have had not trouble at all switching to in-car view, though every game since original test drive and street rod Ive been using it if possible. :)

IMO the greatest thing PD has included with GT5. I have noticed no speed change either, im just as fast either way (bumper or in-car)

P.S I would love Track IR to be supported.

After playing with Prologue for a while now, I'm finding that I miss the view of the race that roofcam affords me. So it looks like I'm going to remain a roofer. Cockpit view is just too letterboxed, even on the big screen.

Likewise, I've found that my times are consitent in both views. I did a bit of testing in th time trials and there's no difference to my consistency.

Has anyone noticed that the behind car camera is much closer to the car in the GT5p demo than in GT5P.

Only Bumper Cam if im racing seriously...

In car and behind view when im messing about...

Im A Noob So I Use Behind Car View
Slightly biased!

GTR2 and rFactor I use the in car view.

But in car view just doesn't cut it on GT5p in my opinion. You can't adjust your view/seat and the display isn't clear. Plus, racing is very difficult!

The only thing I dislike about chase cam, is no rear view mirror!

I'd have to say bumper cam. Like a few of you I do get better laps with it, but I really want to persist with the cockpit cam, I just think it's more realistic

Bumper cam for drifting, in car for racing

Although if i get a bit crossed up while racing in the in car view, it completely puts me off for some reason and I end up crashing :( oh well

I use the bumper camera. I'm 1-2 secs/lap faster (than any other view) using bumper camera in Suzuka. I can see 2 advantages of the bumper campera: better view of the track, so you can corner with more precision, and more clear sound (the sound in the in-car camera is somewhat muffled).

Having said that, I'm trying to adapt to the in-car camera, specially in easy races, because of realism.

Cockpit view. The game just feels so much more immersive in that view that I refuse to use anything else, even for time trials.

Watch a few replays from chase cam, and even in cockpit view its soon pretty easy to judge exactly where your car is on the track.

I don't think that the bumper view is less realistic than in-car view, as when I drive in real life, i always look as far ahead as i can see and with the in-car view it seems as if the cockpit is blocking my view. Anyways I adapt quickly for it and use it for racing because I can feel better the space difference between me and the other cars. However I voter for bumper cam as it is the one i use for TT and TT is the most I do.

I'd love to ride in the cockpit, but seeing the wheel/hands puts me off completely since i have one in front of me too. I can't really explain why, but it always ****s up my concentration. I which i could have the dashboard without the wheel/hands. Grr

I feel the same way, its weird aye?

Cockpit for me, gives the truest sense of speed. I would imagine that real drivers (those with a license and drive every day) will use the cockpit view as this is closest to the real thing. Those who use other views I would imagine have less or no real driving experience. Im sure this is not the case for all but, the majority. I feel another poll coming on.

Try looking at the road.

Bumper cam. As other mention here the wheel in incarveiw is distracting. I dont need two wheels in my vision. Lol and yeah i look at the road. To me bumper cam is just as real..

Behind car view, so I guess I'm a noob :guilty:

I guess we're both Div 2 noobs then, I use behind car as well, just lets me see the other cars better to make up for the lack of precision with my sixaxis (don't have a wheel, no room for one in my room).

May I ask why I'm a noob for using this view?

Cockpit view, using bumper cam would make every car look the same.:odd:
But seriously, cockpit view looks so awesome.:D

If the car is left side drive, in-car view.

Right side drive, bumper-cam.

I end up with shortcut penalties galore if i use the in-car view with a right hand drive auto.... since i'm a noob and usually just follow the blue line. heh heh.

I use a 6-axis and have always used the chase cam for all the GT series games. I don't really see much point in switching at this point. Once I get a wheel (hopefully this month), I will definately make the move to one of the onboard views. The thing I can't stand about using the onboard views with the controller is that one, it makes side by side racing very difficult and dangerous, and two, the screen moves with every little steering input I make with the joystick, which is rather annoying to me.

Bumper. Its faster.
Watching replays from the cockpit view can be fun.
The hood / bonnet cam might work if it werent positioned so freakishly.
