What WILL you make with a GPS enabled or very detailed track editor?

I would like to make a long track, as well. But, how would I get up and down Chimney Rock?..... hmm.... ;)

I forgot to mention that the red arrow at the top is the beginning of 2-lane roads, and the green arrow at the bottom is the beginning of the freeway sections. Enjoy! ;)

Edit: NOW I understand posting pictures!

A track in my hometown

I wonder if it would be worth mapping some rally stages around my area. Rally america comes to town every year, it might be cool to map some of the actual stages. Though there is awful phone reception so I wonder how that might interfere with the GPS logger app.

I would probably map MIS (Michigan International Speedway) if I could get away with it. :sly: I'm in pretty close with the top people that run it and have driven it many times before, so it shouldn't be a problem, although I'd have to do it with my Durango  as I no longer have my beloved Mustang. (The car I had when I had my accident that lead to my disability.)

Could be cool... awesome name lol

Thanks. Although I just realized it should probably be called the Ostschleife, or east loop.

I bet that has some crazy elevation changes, doesn't it?

Indeed. I was actually furious to find out that Google maps removed the terrain feature, I really wanted to show the elevation more clearly.

I currently have doubts for the GPS thingy, since it would be really complex, an improved track editor might go first, I don't know :|

Not that i will be able to do so. But former racetracks with curves with banking.
Loved the old road allongside the dutch track at Assen (TT track).
Ramshoek at the TT Circuit has such banking, very cool!
When you keep the right line, you're gonna have a lot of grip. Get it wrong, it will punish you.

I would try recreate some old GT tracks if we get a good course editor
As for GPS? I might do the route of my Sunday paper round;)
Or the bus to school and back;)
...sigh... I wish I had a car.....

I think the GPS stuff is entirely dependent on how good the track editor is anyway.

I'll make (for sure) the route used for the stage in the "Rally della Valdinievole" which starts near my home, down here there's the complete map in image and partial maps as links (EDIT, found the camera car of the stage on youtube, added below images):

GT is needing a good rally track in my opinion. A tarmac one will do fine because there are so many rally cars in the game that are so under-represented and a rally stage like that would be great. I'm not sure how you would create the low lying clouds with the GPS visualiser though

I hope that it's possible to edit the track made by the GPS. I question how accurate the tracks would be made. My idea is to use the GPS to setup the base and edit it perhaps using video footage to make it more accurate later.
