Generally yes, but when your full throttle your engine rpm is not constant as its bouncing off the limiter, so in some cars there may be a 3 or 4 hundred rpm fluctuation from one launch to the next...and that could result in a 0.050 difference, online or offline. Two identical cars with identical tunes and launching at the exact same time might have a half car to one car difference due to catching a different rpm while launching off a random ghost.

There are some people who control their launch rpm by holding the car at a certain rpm while waiting for the ghost, but it requires you to reprogram the buttons to do it properly. I was given a demonstation on the Enzo and it does work better but I'm still doing full throttle.

lol it wasn't my intention to bump the thread, i was just looking up the "retro launch" and noticed what you said. for the record i think there should be a difference.

its a quarter of three, meaning 2:45<-- dumb.
a quarter of the hour of three should mean 3:45, the term should be replaced with (some people use it) quarter till 3.

i guess its justifiable by saying whats a quarter of 3? 45 minutes meaning 15 until, but hey, whatever. i'm ranting. my bad.

edit- the guy above posted while i was typing this, but in reply to you. no it doesn't. it should, but it doesn't. and besides, unless you lock the diffs, its not actually delivering power to all 4 wheels AWD or 4WD anyway. well. a few years ago. i have no idea what that stupid fat GT-R is doing for all i know it could be.

ok, last post here and im done because this has gone wayyyy off topic.

first off, wiki is usually untrusted and even teachers tell students not to get any research from it.

even still, your article talks about in the past how it was the same thing and tries to bring this to modern times and say it is falsely advertised yet the problem is, this is not the past. they may have been the same back when, heck i dont doubt it, but now, now they are different.

Wrong.

4WD means simply that all four wheels are driven. It does not refer to how the drive is distributed, whether it can be adjusted on the fly, or whether it has high or low range.

AWD is just Subaru marketing-speak for the same thing.

AWD is generally understood to mean a full-time, car style system and 4WD is generally understood to mean a part time, truck style system (for example, when GM toyed around with AWD on the GMT330 SUVs, they gave the Oldsmobile Bravada the former and made it known as such compared to the rest of its platform mates, which all had the latter system instead; and automobile publications tend to treat the terms that way as well), but there is no hard rule that AWD is only the former and 4WD is only the latter since they have been more or less marketing terms for a good while now (like "Coupe" is).

Well IRL in my pickup I have 4 Hi, 4 Low, Auto Kickdown and super tall gearing. Pulls stumps out no problem. All mechicanical too so no computers =P

My baby brother sometimes get in car b4 my momma and me get in car, n he switches to 4L , n when my mom pulls out, the car unexpectedly accelerates more than it should, she goes like "what the **** is this" in a really funny way (she always thinks somethings wrong with car cause it's 10 years old (only yeah reached 100,000 miles like a month ago 2000 ford expedition eddie bauer) n I start laughing balls off, "mom it's just ....." and I always explain.
