I used the TVR Speed 12 for this race, it won with easy and it's one of my favoroute cars in the game.

Use the Escudo that you get from winning all the rally races, it's an easy win. It's about the only thing it's good for. In GT2 it was unbeatable in any race you put it into but in GT3 it just will not go round corners for some reason, probably because it made winning too easy. Why it's still in the game when the Pike's Peak race is not in GT3 (what happened to that anyway?) is beyond me.

a RUF RGT with the top turbo (1090+hp). It isn't a slam dunk, it takes a little work since you don't stick the corners as well as the other car, but it makes it interesting.

Escudo is not bad in rally races.
And invincible in Test Course. =v=

Yes but lapping the field twice in 10 laps gets old after while.

I never liked the escudo for rally, too much power is a bad thing.

the RUF RGT is my fav rally car. My fav car period.

And there is another problem: Using Escudo in AT is very bad because its max torque is nearly in the max rpm. MT recommended.

My favourite rally car is FTO LM (Overkiller?), RWD on dirt is not easy for me, I think.

The balance and handling of the RGT fits my driving style I guess. In rally the rear end wags around but it is very controllable and even at the base N/A (no turboe or N/A) upgrades all rally events are easily won. The only rally car that gives the RGT a run is the Mitsu Evo Proto, the Scoob Proto challenges it a touch.

I like cars that are good from the start, that don't require any tuning or upgrades to be "good". At the same time that same car needs to work well with upgades too. The RGT is one of maybe 5 cars I have found that do it all and can win anything they are entered in with some tuning and parts.

Try the RGT on dirt, you might be surprised.

If GT3 had a hill climb the Escudo would be your car. But it doesn't so what is the point? I suppose different people like different things.

Thanks. I'll try RGT on dirt later. =v=

P.S.: Hill climbing? I think FTP LM will be better because of Escudo's terrible "turbo lag".

I won this race with quite a lot modified RUF CTR2 ... that car has got some serious speed :).

Just a thought, if you were to buy an Impreza or Evo and change the settings to be all rear wheel drive, would it be eligable for the FR and likewise for the FF?

I'm afraid not Deq ... once a Land Rover always a Land Rover :P

{Bet you can't guess that I'm not the worlds greatest fan of 4WD drivetrains can you :D?}

EDIT: Changed this to correct poor grandma/spurling (it was unforgivable for an Englishman to write "Land Rover" as "Landrover") :guilty:

no way, because you can't change VCD to more than 50% on ff or more than 90% on FR ... if I remember correct :).

i fing that the escudo isnt good for the test track once you get cars like the nissan r390 lm race car and set the gears to widest because this is far faster and better at turning than the escudo

Here are the best times in each car from GT3Times at the Test Course (All done by Axeman)

Escudo
Axeman 1:17.044

MR (GT-One)
Axeman 1:25.298

R390
Axeman 1:28.888

The Lotus Esprit is faster than the R390.

I beat the 787B by a about a lap with my RUF RGT. The bottom right tire might give you a little trobule depending on how you tune it, but it's not big deal, just gotta turn a little harder to the left. You can run the whole race on bald tires, really. I just did it because i was worried about speed loss.

I did a little test earlier on the 'Like the Wind' race. I completed it ages ago but I wanted to see how fast the Viper was going. I fully modded the Escudo Pikes and started the race. Once the viper got up to speed it was doing over 400km/h on the straights.

I'm using the PAL version, btw.

Why not use the same type of car you're competing against??
Use a 787B, set downforce to the lowest (all left) gear ratio level 46, T2 f/r
and you will exeed 260MPH= easy win 👍 if you don't ....Zzzzzzz
