Tell us the fastest car you know of. You don't have to have seen it, just know of it. Oh yeah, it can be tuned by someone.

There's a bloke that lives in Australia that owns a 1970 LC Torana Coupe that is capable of punching out 1700hp and over 1000ft/lbs of torque and can do the quarter mile in 7 seconds (mid-sevens) :eek: ...and you Americans think Aussie cars suck.

Theres a Pontiac Firebird that's externally stock that was the first and only streetcar to break 300Mph.

gee i wonder where the parts came from???
and besides who owns all those aussiue car corps???
holden=GM
tickford=FORD....

Yes, 1mic, ultimately Holden is owned by US-based General Motors but Holden is the most independent company that's owned by another company I've ever seen.

Most profits most likely stay in Australia and you can be sure that General Motors builds Holden in Australia. Also, General Motors definitely has executives and big buildings in Australia.

Don't be so quick to pass Holden off as another 'owned' company.

yeah ya poofter. jerome why dont you see the australian GM dealer (holden) selling US made cars...thats right, the cars made here are better. the HSV GTS drives better than any production chevrolet does. the GTS is all ozzi built, which means nothing comes from the states at all. and take a look at the pontiac website and check out the new GTO, oh damn, thats australian built too.

you have really got to get ya head outta ya arse mate.

Well, I'd say they are pretty much owned when you consider the number of cars Holden makes/sells that are also sold as Vauxhall/Opels in Europe. Even the HSV is based on the Vauxhall Omega, which is also sold in a slightly modified form as the Cadillac Catera over in America. Every GM company is 'owned' just as much as the next one, and they share the car platforms with most of their 'owned' companies. I'm not sure which Vauxhall/Opels make it to Australia as Holdens, but I know you guys have the Vauxhall Corsa over there, and like I said the HSV is based on the Omega.

Liegenfelter (sp?) did it again. Pick up a copy of last month's (I think) C&D. His new TT C5 went 0-60 in 1.97 seconds. :eek: :eek: :eek:

I think fast and quick are sometimes considered different things. But I guess they are interchangable. I prefer quick to refer to the speed at which an object reaches a goal and fast just the end speed of an object.

I think it was the Rolls-Royce twin jet rocket powered Thrust 2. This beast is the fastest car I know, it can go up to Mach 1.

Pure wee power!!!!!!
