Update as of today (right now):

Here's what an engine bay of a 242k mile car looks like (with a fresh alternator ):

290 XXXkm's.

52 XXXkm's on the rebuild though!

And what about the one that you are going to get? wink wink nudge nudge

I'm not. Infact I'm closing in on either getting a 2000 Toyota 4Runner or just saving up $2,200 for an engine rebuild for the Camaro. I just don't like the fact that after 1 month no dealer has found me a car from my master list of about 20-30 cars. I don't think they are trying.

I can officially say that my E320 isn't a child anymore. I'm at 151k. I tried to take a pic at 150000, but it took until 150003 for the numbers to line up. :ouch:

@ 151k how's the Merc run? I'm curious to hear about the newer Merc's reliability over 125k miles.

New!? :odd: It's still a W124...

The interior looks new, for the most part. (except some of the carpet in the cargo area)

It runs really well! It had 137something when I got it.

My transmission did something really goofy a few days ago, though. It was acting like it wasn't totally in gear, and I had to go from 2 to 3 to D. I'm a little really worried. :scared: It stopped doing it after about three stoplights.

I love my car. It goes straight down the road for a couple minutes if you let go of the wheel. It rides nicely, but I-29 isn't the nicest road.

So far, I've only broken one thing: a wiper motor that I think I blew up with a non-microedge blade on a long road trip. Well, I've broken two things. I de-antennaed my car march 1 with the help of a car wash. :ouch:

I did fail Missouri inspection in December for cracked outer tie rods, though. Now I'm aligned as close to perfect as I can imagine.

Other than that, all I've had to do is regular maintenance. Compared to my previous vehicles, this car has been a breeze.

My SC300 blew up a fuse panel, an alternator, had a massive short somewhere, and half of the electronic gizmos didn't work. The CD player was beyond repair and the instrument panel was burned out.

"My" 2003 Saab's fuel gauge and "infotainment" display didn't work, it ate O2 sensors once every two months, and it was attempting to break its third transmission. The sunroof was trying to give out, and the CD player would constantly make this grinding noise for an hour after the car was turned off. Apparently, the Saab is currently slipping out of third gear. :ouch:

All I've lost on my E320 is my power headrest and the rear driver's window. The M104 still runs strong, and will pull 80 all day down the highway.

Doug said that I may lose a window on the W124, but when the nuclear apocalypse comes, it will be next to the Toyota pickups saying "let's go".

:D It feels new on the inside! 242,000 miles on your Camaro..

WOW. 👍

Thanks, but I should of never took the interior out. The 2mpg savings I gained on average wasn't worth not having an interior. :indiff: *edit* Its hard to believe its been 100,000 miles since I took the interior out.

Our 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 Hemi has been averaging 18.5 mpg according to the trip computer. Usually gotta fill up once per week, or about 400 miles between fillups. Has a 26 gallon tank. Last year when my father drove to Mississippi (2,200 miles from here) he was getting about 20 mpg, and only had to stop 4 times for gas on the way back. Not too bad for a 4,900 lb vehicle with 345 hp and the aerodynamics of a house ;)

:odd:

100,000 miles without an interior? If there weren't any Motorcycle riders here, you'd win the "barebones" award.

With oil going the way it is, you may soon be thankful for the 2mpg. :nervous:

; that pic is awsome.

I just recently passed 113,000. 4k more and i'll have put 30k miles in the 2 years I've had the car. Almost every single one of those miles is cruising on 95 to and from school.

About 27,000/ 28,000 on the 2006.
About 98,000 on the 2001.
As it stands now, the 2006 will surpass the warranty. 👍
(btw, both are Corollas)
